I don’t like the fact that every CZcamsr seems to gloss over the s pen and camera situation. For all this money, why doesn’t it have the S24U camera?? Why isn’t the s pen natively in the device? 1800-1900 is crazy to not have the best Samsungs got to offer

This is the first time I've seen the pen holder, not that I look at folding phone reviews much anyways and got to say it's a good idea, but also not the best of ideas as it makes the phone slant when you put it down. I remember the day I had a galaxy note 10 and the pen/stylus was I believe attached to the side of the case? Those ideas from before are better than this and even the phones(be it the note or not) at the stylus fit inside the phone. People who want simple if that's their target shouldn't buy phones like these.

Who needs a camera is people who spend thousands on a phone that refuses to change the camera.
Personally- I don't like the s pen and I don't care at all about having the world's best photo quality. I do like having a huge screen and multitasking ability.

Agree, I got z fold 3, 3 years ago, and now for me a foldable phone is a must, I can't imagine playing videogames in a small bar format screen anymore, also, when I'm eating outside alone, which happens certainly 4-5 days every week, I like to watch CZcams, and again watching youtube in a small ugly aspect ratio smartphone screen is a NO GO for me :P

@@devilkazumi578 to be fair Apple is in a different league of its own. You really can’t compare the two. I’m not an Apple fanboy I love Samsung however, on the reason why I got Apple is because of the ecosystem. Everything syncs, iPad, Mac’s, ect even simple things like sending PDFs through messenger. I know friends who have jobs where they required them to have an iPhone at least for a work phone. 60hz doesn’t mean nothing compared to that ecosystem.

As a fold user for the last 2 years i prefer the narrow screen, its super easy to reach the edges

I disagree, I thought I would acclimate to the narrow outer display of the Z Fold 5 but it honestly sucks. Insta reels get cut off, comments are awful to read and so is vertical comic strips such as webtoons. They are awful to read. Having a bigger inner display would also be nice reading 2-page manga. So yeah, thinner and a little wider would be appreciated.

Well, I didn't upgrade to z fold 4 from my z fold 3, as the upgrade was not worth it, neither did with 5, just waiting to see if they improve the problem with plastic peeling off in the main screen, which THEY DID, z fold 4 has less this problem, 5 even less, and probably in 6 will be anecdotic.
As you say trade is crazy, I got an offer for 1750€ in my country, and then if I give them my z fold 3, the z fold 6 is going to cost less than 1400€ for me, which for a 3 generation change is, IMHO worth it
This is misleading. If you are switching because of software updates while owning a fold 4/fold 5, then just wait for the updates. So disappointed with Samsung. So yeah, misleading video for people thinking of switching or upgrading their phones. (Unless you have a super old phone, maybe you can try fold 6. Or fold 5 which will be cheaper soon).
In conclusion, The ACTUAL reason he switched to the new Fold is because he has a lot of money.

I am used to the fold. I cant go back to a regular phone anymore. I have never been bothered by the crease.
Too many compromises. Had the fold 4 and after a month and novelty wore off it was a downgrade in nearly everything.
To be fair I don't know why anyone would complain about the crease, same with the flip. Mean how else are you meant to make a folding screen that doesn't look like a laptop? 😂. I'm due an upgrade and looking at either the fold 6 or flip 5/6. I watch a lot of CZcams and movies on phone, laptop and tablet, so for me the fold would be for that purpose above anything else as screen size doesn't matter, but obviously bigger the better 😎

You are always the first channel I go to on new releases, always very detailed. But you only ever comment on offers available in the US. Considering how many US channels there are out there, it would great if you could focus on us here in the UK a little more, and show some offers that are available here too.
When you say the other folds have a "much more usable" cover display, you're completely missing the point of the cover display.
If I'm using my phone with two hands, it's open. If my phone is not open, it's in one hand. Therefore, a screen narrow enough to easily swipe type on is ideal.
Also the screen was still wider than the classic iphones (1-5) people raved over for nearly 10 years. It only feels tight if your used to large format phones.
My Note20 Ultra kicked the bucket a few weeks ago, got crazy water damaged. Im currently using an S8+ with a bunch of cracks on the screen 😂...I think its time to treat myself to an upgrade. Gonna get the Fold 6 fit myself and get wifey the Flip 6
I got my girl the flip 4 and she's in love with the phone. Verizon didn't have the flip 5 in stock and we didn't want to wait an extra 5 days 😅

I have a Fold 4 and can't squeeze the trigger on the 6. Not enough improvements IMO to spend another $1k. That's after all the discounts. Camera tech is old, battery is too small, front screen is too narrow. I constantly have typos when using it on a squished keyboard. The weight and thickness lag behind the competition. I'm looking forward to the Pixel Fold 2, Xiomi Mix 4 and the One Plus Open 2. The SW on Sammy devices is pretty nice, but Samsung is collaborating with Google on the AI. I'm pretty sure that will come over to the Pixel Fold 2. Can't wait!

I have upgraded every year since the fold 3, but not sure I will carry on with upgrades until the main screen starts supporting the spen. I've lost faith on folding screens. I have a Flip 4 and the screens have broken at the fold...for no reason. No fall, no hard usage...just went black and then. The top screen went out. Had to replace it 3x already. S24 Ultra, here I come.

I've had every fold and thankfully never experienced this.
Ive been lucky with my fold 4. I scratched the inner screen while trying to apply a new screen protector and somehow it self healed and the scratches went away. I even dropped it multiple times pretty hard expecting the worst, but so far so good. However I've had coworkers tell me theirs messed up without even dropping it. This is what worries me lol
@TheLastEquinoxJP mine will turn off if not plugged in while using inner screen and won't work at all while unplugged trying to use inner screen. Weirdly the phone works perfect using outer screen but when opened will turn off...
@@sinunknown9929 That's odd I haven't heard of that issue yet. I wonder what could be causing that to malfunction in that way. I definitely do like the foldables but at the same time it kinda sucks feeling like it could break at any point and having to be extra careful. I will say though that I've had an ultra break on me while in my pocket and I'm not sure how, but having two screens somewhat also gives me a peace of mind that I should at least have one working screen.

it depends, tbh, how important is for you to have a "tablet-like" screen when you watch youtube or play games?, for me is a MUST HAVE nowadays.
If you are into photography maybe s24u can make better photos, but IMHO there's not much difference for the human eye, for non professional photos at least
I had the fold 4 then fold 5 then the s24 ultra. I missed the fold so I bought a used fold 4 because I missed the bigger screen. I can't get rid of my s24 ultra tho because of camera and nice big proper candibar aspect. I am still torn. Thinking on keeping both but there issues now with which phone to pair my watch and my bank accounts (2 step verification) and Google pay, which phone to take when i go out. Sheesh, first world problems lol. If only Samsung would have delivered a proper phone. Lol.
Now that I've seen the Fold in the flesh, I do like it but I still feel Samsung relies too much on AI to sell it's products and as I only used 3-4 of the AI features on the regular I feel the rest are another form of bloatware.
And as AI is software, it's undeniable that this will eventually be standard issue software on most phones.
The sad part is a lot of people probably doesn't even use the AI features.

There will be hardly much difference. People shouldn't get too hungry up on cameras unless you are going from low quality to an expensive phone with some fancy camera features. They aren't as impressive as you think.

Just ordered mine last night. The trade-in was pretty good so it made sense to get it especially if it helps me with all of the emails and reading that I do.
There is no substantial upgrades but either you upgrade now take advantage of the offers or wait until next year and get less for your trade in.
When the crease is gone, I'll consider a Zed Fold.
Look into the one plus open. I hardly see the crease. And I absolutely love the phone.

I traded my galaxy fold 4 for the One Plus Open and don't regret it one bit. I think One Plus nailed it for fold phones. Can't wait for their 2cnd gen foldable.
Great review, many thank! I will be switching from the Fold4. 4:57 the Fold 6 fits nicely into the pocket and into the hand. You can actually use the screen with one hand. Why would you need two huge screens? The smaller one is perfect for quickly checking train connections, taking calls, quick message with one hand. For everything else, there is the large internal screen.
Really disappointed with this new folder phone there are not improvements with cámara for 2 years ,no improvements with battery and still very thick if we see vivo x fold 3 or Honor magic V3 coming on Friday it looks stunning, Xiaomi xfold4 impressive... So no words.
Let's be real, no camera on a phone is going to surpass a proper camera. The phones just have the bonus of apps with not having to plug in to a computer to upload.

I'm still rocking my z fold 4 and tbh it's the best phone I've ever used, probably upgrading until the z fold 8 comes out.
The concept of a foldable is just so appealing to me. The problem I have is the execution of it. A narrow front screen and a square inner screen that barely provides any additional viewing area for videos and movies. Such a shame.
Z Fold 5 and Z Fold 6 have essentially the same aspect ratio. The faster CPU and the minor software upgrade do not worth $600 to upgrade.
You have drank the Samsung Kool aid. The fold 6 is just little bit better than the fold 5. OnePlus open still rules!

Yeah youre switching because Samsung is paying you. Anyone seeing this comment, dont upgrade to fold 6 if you have the 4 or 5. Its only an upgrade for 3. The 4 5 and 6 are literally the same exact phone other than an unnoticable upgrade in chip. Camera, res, etc are all exactly the same.
I am upgrading from the Fold 4 only because Samsung Care+ will no longer be available for my phone in a month. I do not want to risk having it without a warranty. The internal display of my current Fold 4 inexplicably died after 14 months.
Also, you will not get such a good trade-in deal for the Fold 4 in a few weeks after the release of the Fold 6. So I had better replace my Fold 4 now and get a good deal for the Fold 6.
Yup got a fold 5 I'll just order a carbon fiber skin and wait until next year.
My fold 4 stopped showing wifi networks and the cell signals started disappearing for minutes all that happened couple hours before the release of the fold 6. I'm forced to trade it in before it gets worse

I upgraded from a ZF5, which I only got back in August '23. I also upgraded my S23U to an S24U. I agree with you. The time to upgrade with Samsung is at launch, when you can be the first kid on your block with the coolest toys because they offer insane deals to ensure a huge launch.
S23u us practically the same exact phone as S24u. It's not considered an upgrade.

We gotta be honest and admit that Samsung did not do anything to improve this device and is basically selling us last year phone with a different chassis.

Samsung notes didn't improve that much. The note 10 was probably the best phone I had. They along with apple only do slight changes whether you can notice them or not. It's about keeping things fresh and up to date.
I think the camera housing is larger prepping for a big upgrade for the 7

Every year, I notice the same pattern: Samsung launches a new phone, and tech influencers immediately criticize it for being too expensive and lagging behind the competition. But within days or weeks, they post follow-up videos praising its improved features, sensible pricing due to inflation, or other reasons, suddenly making the phone seem appealing.

Like myself many people don't upgrade every year and still using the Fold 3 or other older phones, so literally that's the point of upgrading to the Fold 6
Except with the trade in values it literally makes no since not to trade in. Paid 1100 for my s22 ultra. Trade in value is $800.

Been using an S22 Ultra for a while now. This will be my first foldable. Pre-ordered the 1TB version
As a long time Android user and specifically of Samsung phones I still haven't got off the fence for my first foldable device. I just think my S24 Ultra is better in many ways but the Fold 6 is getting closer to what I need in my first foldable phone. I like that they squared off the phone and screen similar to the Note series of phones. I like that the phone opens completely flat on the Fold 6 which also dramatically reduces the crease which is important to me. The cameras are improved although not on the same level as the S24 Ultra so I'd still like to see some upgrades in that department maybe for the Fold 7. My main beef is the tiny battery in the Fold 6 especially considered that their direct competition can somehow fit much larger batteries in even thinner phones which is puzzling. I do like the build quality and software on the Fold 6 vs their competition not to mention the software and security support and close relationship with Google but I expect them to really step up the battery size and charging speed for the Fold 7. I also need the Armour glass on the front screen which helps eliminate reflections and scratches. Getting closer but I guess I'll have to wait until next year to see if I get pushed off the fence, sort of speak.

They're too completely different style of phones. If you want high resolution camera and built an s pen, 24 Ultra is fantastic. However, if you want to truly expansive screen to do multimedia and gaming, wish some of the built-in AI stuff, with a very strong and thin and light build, you can't go wrong with the fold 6
I find the fold 5 better than the s24 ultra... So, to each their own, this fold 6 is for me the best smartphone of 2024, because stop kidding yourself, the s24 ultra is appreciated only for its photo but a 500 euro camera is 10x better really
Did they fix the fact after awhile the hinge breaks and cant unfold flat?
I just preordered the Z Fold 6…super anxious due to the very high price (even though I feel that it kind of makes sense being that it’s kind of a phone and a tablet in one) and more importantly the fact that I’ve only EVER had iPhone. Hoping to love it. I’m just bored of iPhone at this point. For reference I have the iPhone 15 Pro Max and I upgrade every year. The past three years have been the same phone. I have definitely wanted to try a folding phone but was scared of all of the horror stories of the screens cracking and what not, but I’m taking the plunge on this one. Hoping I love it and have no issues but I will definitely be keeping my iPhone just in case. I’ve been a strictly Apple Ecosystem person forever. I just want an exciting change. Any tips on adjusting to Android would be much appreciated lol.
