  • @pearson94
    @pearson94 Před 7 lety +7

    The Dukes of Hazzard was my favorite show growing up. I even had Dukes of Hazzard Shrinky Dinks. My dad worked at WTVF Channel 5 in Nashville so he would always bring me autographs when the cast would stop by. I begged him to get me out of school if John Schneider ever stopped in, but of course he couldn't leave work to do that. :) I was so jealous when he met him. I have all of John Schneider's albums. I have an autographed Enos photo that says "To my sweetheart Lori, Love Enos". So funny. I also still have the Waylon 45 of the theme song. I am friends with Waylon's nephew. I guess I should have had that autographed while I had the chance. Glad you are having fun in the area. It will be beautiful and 75 today and snowing on Saturday.

    Thanks once again Adam, for the wonderful memories you brought back. I went to see Tom Wopat when he played in the "Rainmaker" ... June of 1993 at the Barn Theatre in Augusta, Michigan. When we first arrived at the theatre I was coming out from the *powder room* and ran smack into the arms of Tom Wopat!! I nearly fainted. He was so sweet as he smiled and said hello. Thanks for the memory~

    So cool that you visited Third Man Records! I'm not sure if anyone has commented about the penguin pinback button you got yet and what it's about... the penguin is Canadian Inuit art featured in the artwork from the White Stripes box set, "Under Great White Northern Lights", named for a documentary filmed during their 2007 Canadian tour (in which they played every province and territory of Canada, which is unheard of for ANY band to do). Those shows were some of their last performances before ending the band, their last full tour. It was very special. The entire tour was filmed, every detail, and the documentary film was made ..then the extensive box set was put out for it (DVD, concert vinyl LP and CD, singles, Art, coffee table photo book).

    Got a really good chuckle with my morning coffee on the Lefty Frizzell. (That's Frizzell with the accent on the end.) But I guess you have to be a deep rooted, hard core Country Music fan for that to sound funny.
    Thank you sooooo much for the J.D. Sumner clip. That guy was super great. For quite a awhile he held the Guiness Record for the lowest note by a human voice.
    I wish you could have been in Nashville a couple of days.
    I would have loved to have seen more about my Country music heroes.
    BTW, "Murder On Music Row" was more than just symbolic. In 1989 23 year old Kevin Hughes was shot and killed on 16th Avenue. About 3 years ago they finally arrested and convicted Tony D'Antonio for the murder.
    Thanks, again. for the Nashville tour this morning. :D

    My aunt lived in Covington! "Cooter" was her next door neighbor for years (really!!). I think he became a politician later, so he had moved before I got a chance to meet him. When we'd visit my aunt, we'd pass by the building used for the Boar's Nest. I have pictures of it somewhere. We also would frequently drive through the downtown area and look at the courthouse, etc. It was so surreal! Daisy Duke was my favorite. At age 6, I wore cutoff denim shorts and halter tops because of her. 😂

    That Elvis ticket was cool. Elvis's last public appearance was in Green Bay Wisconsin, he rented the small amusement park and rode the roller coaster for several hours straight, he lost his belt buckle on the ride and it was returned later. Adam, you should go check it out and then go to the Wisconsin Dells, I think you'd like it.

    If you are staying at a campground with water and electricity then you can drain all the plumbing and poof... No risk of damaging the pipes. Also that has to be the best thumbnail image ever! See you tomorrow morning.

      Exactly what I was going to say... Just drain the tanks until warmer weather.

    It's hard to believe that a television show still garners enough continued devotion to warrant a museum--two even! Continuing love for Willie is a different matter, however. And the careers of Lefty fri-Zell, Waylon, and Patsy Cline are all intertwined with Willie's, thus displays of their careers in his museum. I hope that you'll visit Ryman Auditorium and and historic RCA Studio B before you leave town.

    Northwest of Nashville in Ashland City there's a high school made in a pod design on rt 12. It kinda reminded me of the Xanadu house, but slightly flattened!

    Don't know what direction you're going, but if you're headed south, you might check out McNairy County, TN, home of Buford Pusser, the infamous sheriff made famous in the 1975 movie Walking Tall. Also, Shiloh National Park.

    How can you not love that show. I had the lunch tray when I was a kid. I have no clue what my mom did with it. Probably sold it in a yard sale or gave it to goodwill. I'm definitely gonna find out what happened to that thing.
