  • Don't get lost in poker solver lalaland: Marc Goone explains why he almost NEVER chooses the same sizes with bluffs and value on rivers vs live poker players. He gives a simple 2 step breakdown to determine the perfect size on the river with both bluffs...and value.

    Playing only live 2/5 and 5/10 (no higher games available at my local casino) I have found your channel extremely useful. Having said that sometimes I think you push too much on the exploit pedal. When you play against a recreational it's the right thing to do (and I should do it more often for sure) but when you play against good regs I think it's damn dangerous going so much in that direction. Playing a style like in the examples is the way all the mid/bad reg of my poker room get beaten with no impunity from the top 4-5 players of the room (around 3 tables running every weekend). A stupid example: they 3bet ip and on 893r the cbet 33% when they have overcards, but go 66% with overpair. Against the rec they print money anyway, against a good reg they get crushed. So I think it's mandatory to underline which kind of opponent you have. Personally I like playing "more balanced" against everyone, but that's just me.

    • @hungryhorsepoker
      @hungryhorsepoker  Před měsícem +3

      think you're a bit confused here
      1) very unlikely there are "good" regs in any $2/5 or $5/10 game
      2) never in a million years would we recommend splitting cbet sizes vs regs
      3) for more information on how we recommend playing against regs, check out our vs pros video
      4) for more information on WHY we recommend playing this way against regs, check out our "gto strategy exposed" video
      5) you're most likely not playing "more balanced" you're just making "less money"

    • @Fatpigkenny
      @Fatpigkenny Před měsícem

      @@ChinGuan31 no offence taken. Poker is a game of incomplete info. By the time you can “re-exploite” back, you are playing for stacks with small edge at best. I don’t want to be in those games.

    • @ChinGuan31
      @ChinGuan31 Před měsícem

      @@Fatpigkenny i trying to straighten my thoughts and logic and discuss. if everyone play near GTO our edge is very very small and ev is small. when someone get out of line to exploit, the exploiter will gain higher Ev. when the expoliter get re exploit, the exploiter will lose a much higher bigger ev than , his previous gain ev. but i do understand the variance wil be much higher and easily play for stack. but this style of play should be very very profitable.

    • @ChinGuan31
      @ChinGuan31 Před měsícem

      i give examples. hero check flop villain over stab flop when hero always check flop. pot 6.5bb , when villain over stab flop when hero check he might gain a extra 1-2bb . but if hero plan a check raise against villain. hero will gain a massive ev gain maybe 3-4bb gain. the point i trying bring across is when player get out of line and a better player notice and exploit its very very profitable and the ev is very very high. but if no one wil ever exploit us , we should always get out of line to try win max ev
