Ok I'm trippin'! I just got a 2015 Honda CRV, traded my 2014 corolla, I have this same key fob & still learning it! The fact the car won't let you lock your key in it & the window roll down feature, I'm trippin' cause that;s friggin' amazing! Thank you for the tutorial!

I have my crv for 3 years now and it’s only now I know about this.
I have a 2013 Honda Accord and sometimes when I push the start button and brake pedal at same time it just clicks. after the 3rd try it will turn over is there something I'm doing wrong? after 3rd try I have to stop because break pedal hardens up and you can't push it. This doesn't happen all the time just every now and then and of course it didn't do it when I took it to the dealership.
I would get that checked out asap.

2:32 The window lowering "feature" sucks big time - it is a potential liability to the owner. The remote fob when placed inside a pocket can easily activate the windows to roll down (sunroof also if there is one), without the owner knowing about it, leaving the car exposed to thieves, rain, snow, what have you. And that remote fob cannot roll up the windows remotely, the key has to be placed inside the front door lock and twisted twice to roll up the windows or keys in ignition and all 4 window buttons depressed to roll up. And the system does not allow the owner to deactivate this function.
I’ve had my 2016 accord for a year and twice now I’ve come out to the car and all the windows and sunroof were wide open over night
It's absolutely terrible. If you live in a cool or wet region, there's absolutely no reason why you would need to lower the windows prior to entry. Their cars should at least allow the owner to deactivate it.
They shouldve just made it so that when the keys are not in the running car, the car cannot be taken off of park and a thief cannot put it in drive and takeoff .
Of course not. Anyone can take your car easily without your smart entry key. If your car has on start mode at parking and you went somewhere with smart key, in that situation anyone can steal or take out easily.
Well, that would be bad, actually, because those of us who have smart entry systems that have stopped working have cars that insist we don't have the key in the car, so we wouldn't be able to drive our cars at all. Good luck figuring out how to fix it, as apparently nobody knows.
I have a New Honda Civic hatchback and have discovered a problem with the remote start..it seems to work intermittently, ie my very first time using the remote in the morning, I could not start my car. I tried with the other remote and still no start. I took it to back to Honda and they said I tried too many times and a safety feature kicked in, HOW is that possible when you only tried 1 time? have you heard of this issue?

Hi. Like the video. But does all smart Key works like the one you have. The one I have for my 2013 Honda Civic Push start does not wind down the window. any ideas? also i recently got the car, the passenger side keyless entry works but the driver side doesnt, any ideas?
What would be a reason the outside drivers door handle button no longer locks the car. The Passenger door handle button and the tail gate button still locks the car. It's only the drivers door handle button that no longer locks the car. The drivers side door handle touch still oppens the car doors. Strange.

Who says they can't turn it on after leaving with the key (the beeping does sound when I close the door and I have the key however)? I have a car that starts without the key being close, it even says "No Key" on the dash but the car still starts no problem and gears can be changed lol. Did I forget to mention that the "Power is On" message is displayed on the screen along with the radio/navigator always on when the engine is off? The car only cycles from Power is On to Accessory and the start when the break pedal is pressed.

I have the 2015 CRV, 85% of the time when I am in the car and the car is running, if I open the door from sitting in the drivers seat and just open the door not get out. Or my passenger opens the door the ALRM goes off and the dash flashes NO KEY. WHY ?

Thanks for your video. I bought remote honda remote starter along with my 2015 honda civic EX. When I start my car with remote starter, it is shutting off the engine when I open the door. In remote starter manual, its mentioned as security feature to prevent auto theft. Whereas other company cars doesn't do this. Is there any way that I can overcome this. I want to keep engine running when I open the doors even.

Hi Larry- Thanks for the video. its really informative. However, I've a question. I'm planning to buy a 2014 Honda City in India. Does this have an auto-lock option? I mean what will happen if for example I go shopping in a mall and forget to lock the car using the smart key? If it doesn't have any auto lock option(say the car gets locked after a minute or so), anybody can open the doors and get inside the car right? Isn't this a security issue in the car. Also does it have an alarm system so that the car sounds an alarm if somebody tries to forcefully break into the car(like pull the door handles for example). Please do let me know.

hi, i think it works like my toyota estima, it wont lock unless u touch the button at the door with the smart key in your pocket. if the key is inside the car, it wont lock.
what i do to remind me is , i add a relay to my auto folding side mirrors, so when i lock my car, my side mirror folds, so when i am far, i just checked my side mirrors. the side mirror only unfold when my engine started.

Thanks, but what we really need to know is how to fix this system when it quits working. Lots of people on line with start/stop button problems and smart entry system failures, with no information on how to fix it. You can hardly figure out which fuses cover what in these things because they use three letter abbreviations for most of the fuses in the fuse box. Want to know what a "small light" fuse is? Parking lights. "IGP LAF"? That's an oxygen sensor. Nobody online even knows what another five or so of them even are. No wiring diagrams available online. No idea where the smart entry control module is. Just a lot harder to get information on than VWs and Audis but with just as many electrical problems. I got a brand new Honda because they are supposed to be reliable. So much broken stuff after four years.

Sounds dumb, but does the trunk automatically lock itself after closing it? Whenever I lock my car and then go get something out of my trunk and then close it, I always unlock and then lock the car again just to make sure the trunk is locked.

I just wanna make sure. It only unlocks when you touch the handle then? Because the way it was explained to us is that it unlocks when the fob is close to the door. That made my parents worry that what if they walk past the car while it's parked, and it unlocks automatically, and now the car is, unbeknownst to us, unlocked for the rest of the day?
I just bought the 2015 Accord. It only unlocks when I touch the door with my hand with the key in my pocket and not just when I am near.

You can still start the car with the push button even if the fob is dead by holding it very close to the push button. It must have RFID chip.

Only if you do not have the iMid display. You can get an aftermarket Carplay stereo. If you have an iMid display and get a Carplay unit then you won't be able to control the iMid display.
I’ve put extra button batteries in my purse just in case the fob dies....it will eventually!

Can you start the car with the metal key? It opens the door but can it start the car? It would be strange being able to get into the car but then not be able to start it!
You can start the car you need to hold the fob close to the start button. There is a NFC chip in the fob that works even without the battery which will allow you to start the car with the fob (not the key that you opened the door as this is a mechanical action)
Try putting the key fob in the glove box, should let you lock your doors.
