LOVED that Kay said that this was SHINee's version of what "Obsession" represented for Exo. It's spot on as both are Dem Jointz productions and are gritty and sinister in addressing the folks both groups want nothing to do with anymore. It can seem like a departure for them but it truly isn't (I became a kpop fan in 2nd gen). It's such a great reentry for them and is in line with their ALWAYS pushing the envelope sonically and aesthetically but melding that with new gen sounds. They definitely shook people with this one. As Onew biased, I fell out at Wu Tang Jinki and I think we all missed maknae Taemin. Great reaction and chat as always, ladies!
I’ve been into KPOP for a long time. I remember when Shinee debut and Taemin looked like a baby. Now he is an icon in kpop. Onew has such a unique voices in kpop I love it.
Wutang Jinki! LOL! He's my ult bias because his voice is just perfection to me. I love this album so, so, so much. I agree, album of the year. And yes, Minho is so good-looking and really funny. There's a reason he was the inspiration for the beginning of my book series, particularly his performance of "Dynamite" during the SHINEE World IV tour. If you haven't seen it, you might like the ODG video that is up on YT now of them interacting with kids. It's so good, both funny and touching.

I remember when he was on Immortal Songs (that's the right show right? my memory is foggy) and I was real concerned because that a show is for people who well...SANG...and I was so surprised by his progress. Like I couldn't get over how good he sounded and he's only gotten better and better since. Everyone knows that SHINee is my OTL and that Taemin is my OTL within the OTL (with all the other members in a very close second) so believe me when I say, I am absolutely ecstatic about this comeback. Don't Call Me isn't my cup of tea per se (Misconceptions and The Story of Light are still a cut above everything they've ever done) but I did like album tracks. The album tracks sounds a little more like them than this title track but I get it. They needed to make a bang after being gone for so long! I hope we get to see more before my baby heads off to the army. I'm not ready! Side notes: Minho has always looked good but does anyone else think that he's aging really beautifully. Like it's hard to find such masculine beauty. I'm really glad that Key's voice was really prominent in this track. SHINee and MBLAQ were the first groups to introduce me to K-Pop in 2009, so I'm so happy to see SHINee back, and with a song that hit it out of the ball park. Beyond catchy.
The song is AMAZING. I've never really listened to any of SHINee's previous music, I just knew them as one of the old school super popular groups, but whoa they were a revelation. I really enjoyed the video except for Key's like... weird watchcap with the faux locs/braids.... thing. It reminded me of when everyone was putting their idols in those awful looking "locs" that were just their hair rolled up with some gel. The feather one was awesome and the rest of the looks were great, but that one made me give a long auntie sigh. BUT ALSO, back to the good stuff, I love the vast difference in Taemin's treatment by Super M and his treatment in SHINee. Super M: Taemin is our king!!! We love him he's so pretty and cute and talented! SHINee: God this fucking maknae is back on his bullshit again. I think maybe that's why he looks so comfortable with them, he gets to go back to being the little brother.
