This is a great guitar if you want a good Children Of Bodom tone. They play fantastic and are not as expensive as the custom shop signature guitar. Let me know what you think. Please Subscribe.
A big plus on Edwards is that the specs of signature guitars are like the custom shop models, just like the old ESP Standard signatures (There are just a few E-II signatures available). Who cares where they are build at, but I believe the story about some actions in China, Vietnam and/or Korea, but finally inspection or assembly in Japan.
Yeah. The specs on Edwards signature guitars are pretty much the same as the esp signatures. Even the scalloped frets on the Edwards are done very nicely just like you would expect from the esp custom shop model. In regards to the origin of manufacturing of the instrument, I wanted to know where it was crafted since there are a lot of sites stating something similar or different. You are right though. It doesn't matter where it was built. Especially Edwards guitars since you are guaranteed a great guitar.
Edwards are some of the most bang for your buck guitars available. I got an Alexi Sawtooth from 2009 and this pink model from 2015. Both are pretty much flawless, and that's saying a lot especially since I also have an ESP custom shop Alexi to compare them with. The 2009 sawtooth in particular is one of the best feeling guitars I have ever played.
I might have gone a bit crazy. I ordered one of these and it's going to arrive january next year. I am also most likely going to be getting the arrowhead edwards model either next week or the week after that. Really fucking excited. I have been dreaming of these guitars for so long. edit: I ended up finding a used E-Scythe for 1100€ which has the EMG ALX set in it and also the bridge is a Schaller. Incredibly happy with it. It's so much better than any guitar I've played thus far, although this is also the most expensive guitar I've ever played. Now I just have to wait for the Pinky to arrive.
2:34! That power chord \m/ Nice videos bro'! I wish Edwards would make left handed Alexi's guitar too. There's the ltd one, but it's not so good imo. Cheers!
Can only encourage you to do so, if you haven't alreaddy done so! Got a E-LP-130CD (basically a Les Paul Custom) that I have waited for 8 months and it is one awesome guitar. Best build quality I have ever seen and it wiped the floor so hard with my 2019 Gibson LP Standard, that was 3 times the price. Sadly Edwards are really hard to get here in Germany... I was told by the store I ordered it from, that they and the german ESP distrbutor had gotten into trouble for importing it and that they wouldn't be importing anymore Edwards guitars..
For anyone considering one of these. I ordered this guitar new from an official ESP distributor directly. The guitar is very well built and of high quality, however, my one had quite bad fret ends, comparable to a 150€ Jackson minion I have (the fretwork otherwise was very well done, leveling and crowning). The tangs of the frets were cut very badly and weren't filed down properly, so parts of the tang were eating into the binding and it was visible on some frets. I believe most people wouldn't notice, but for me it's unacceptable at 1700€ so I contacted them and it's now on its way back so that they can compare it to other ones they have in stock. All in all in all I got the feeling that the guitar was in fact partly built in China, hence the bad initial fret installation, I couldn't notice anything else about the guitar though. The setup and finishing was definitely done in Japan, and it even had the made in Japan label/sticker like the E-IIs and ESPs, it played like a dream.
Damn sorry to hear about that one. Hopefully the one on its way is a great guitar without any issues. The thing with mine is that I got it used and everything is great, but I really need to replace the floyd rose since it is old.
The only thing I don't like on mine, is the step that forms between the handle and the black paint of the body...is that on your too?? I don't expected that from a 1,7k€ guitar... I also have a LTD Alexi 200, and It have better dettails than 2k€ guitars (for example the space made for the jack plate...seems a stupid thing, but is not for me). P.s. i have a Jackson Minion too XD and have better fretwork than my Jackson RR24M.
@@yourDeath86 I sent it back and bought the black Edwards e-al-128 for 1000€ less used. I'm not sure what you mean by step? Do you mean the paint on the back where is transitions from transparent to black?
@@yourDeath86 still not quite sure what your issue is, the transition on mine cannot be felt. It transitions from a satin finish on the neck to glossy on the body.
i found a mint condition one locally for $1300 cad and bought it because of your review. it plays like a dream compared to my first guitar, an ibanez rg421. i'm learning way faster because of this guitar. i find that the gain boost switch adds too much gain in any situation, though. maybe i should play with the eq that you mentioned. this might also come down to my novice skills of dialing in a proper tone - i'm using a yamaha thr10x though which is a super high gain amp.
Yes, that boost is almost like a maxon or tube screamer haha. This guitar works very well with amps like dual rectifiers and marshalls since that guitar has a lot of output. I had to lower the gain by a lot to tame the amount of distortion it was making. Thanks for watching!

I just got this same model today, it arrived from Japan. There was no sound coming from the guitar as soon as I plugged it in. I am 100% sure it's not either my amp or my cable because I was playing my Greeny Ltd last night with no problems.
@@moisessalcido1283 yea, I had to buy the ESP case new though, but I got a tremol-no system and a guitar stand free with the guitar so it's still a great price.
