    Thanks for doing respectful reactions to so many of my videos, guys! As a math major I must respect how much the Islamic world contributed to mathematics. After all, "algebra" is an Arabic word, and the number system we use was given to us by the Arabs as well.

    The Mandelbrot set is the graph that results when we map every number that exists. All the real numbers are in the X axis, all the imaginary numbers in the Y axis. If we iterate changes in z following the function shown; z = z^2 + c , for every number that exists, sometimes it will shoot to infinity, and sometimes it will enter a cyclic loop. Numbers that create a cycle are part of the set and painted black. In the boundaries you get this infinite fractal that we can explore for ever.

      I chuckle anytime somebody blames "randomness" for anything, since if randomness is making the choices, then randomness has a will... they've just described an agent with agency and will power... Allah.
      since there can only be two states, deterministic action or willed decisions. true "randomness" deals with the latter. we just slap the label "random" whenever a true choice is made in the universe, however most "randomness" isn't truly "random/choice" since it's deterministic (determined by prior actions, like domino is a long line of falling dominos)
      an example of "true randomness" would be virtual particles popping in and out of existence after self annihilation (look up Hawking radiation and his his explanation of how the universe was created - sea of chaos)

    We seem to agree that logic and mathematics "exists" in some sense, independently of the human mind. You seem to think that it must, therefore, be the product of a supernatural mind. I think the opposite: It exists independently of ANY mind. There are not just two options: God or chaos. This raises the question: How much "choice" did God have in creating the laws of logic and mathematics? If God could have made it any way he liked, then it is not objective. It is his opinion.
    Why is God's morality correct? Morality is subjective because it involves subjects, even if that subject is a god. You can't get an ought from an is.
    The Euthyphro dilemma applies both to logic and to morality.

    you say it's irrational to believe everything came from as you put it ''random chance'' but what's the likelihood a supernatural creator did it? that nobody has demonstrated? much lower i'd say.

    • @MuslimMindsUS
      @MuslimMindsUS  Před 5 měsíci +2

      We being is pretty much fact and like you said, irrational to believe otherwise. Look up the argument of contingency, there has to be an independent variable that always existed or else everything goes back infinity and forward infinity which is illogical to believe.
      Does that make sense?

      You should clarify what you mean by, "back infinitely, and foreward infinitely", I think you meant that each entity depends or is produced by it's predecessor, not sure where you got the forward infinitely from; I would avoid making an argument from the rationality as natural physics doesn't need to make sense to someone, hypothetically, if it turns out the universe does infact, infinitely regress then that's simply how it works regardless of it seeming illogical to you. The argument from contingency asserts that there has to be a first cause of the universe, however this is a proposition and lacks demonstrable evidence of the claim itself, that being a noncontingent entity. However, even if we allow this proposition it still fails to answer the commenters question. Why couldn't the universe itself be the first cause, or any other reason which would be just as likely as a god? I suggest using a theoretical model as you are attempting to explain something which requires demonstrateable evidence.
      I hope none of this comes off as rude; I genuinely mean no malice toward you, and wanted to point out a problem I had as respectfully as a confrontation can be.

      @@friendlyreminder3280 You should probably familiarize yourself with the argument from contingency, the universe shows signs of contingency.

      @@themonkey335 "however this is a proposition and lacks demonstrable evidence of the claim itself"
      Contingent things are by definition things which do not necessarily exist, since the universe shows signs of contingency (changes from state to state, has independent substances that depend on another, it's complex, etc), how could it be the explanation for contingency? If you keep tracing the cause of contingent things back to other contingent things, you end with an infinite regress, thus a necessary being is needed.
      Further, 'theoretical models' don't need to be used, we only need to use metaphysical proofs. If these proofs are logically true they must necessarily be true as well.
