Jerma makes me realize I would be the worlds worst game tester. I guess I just play games via the (presumed) intended path. He finds innovative, brand new ways to not understand what’s going on.
One of the ways this game fails is that it gives you so little information to start with that when story integral parts happen it's easy for the player to get confused as to their significance and that can lead them down a totally incorrect path until they finally realize, usually in frustration, that they made the wrong assumption.
I did the exact same thing on my very first run hahaha, thought i had to fly into dark bramble without the ship first time and ended up getting lost and suffocating
I love outerwilds, and this foolish fella having no clue what he's doing is exactly what I look forward to in Outerwilds gameplay. Watching realizations, no matter how obvious to someone who knows the game in and out, is a joy.
I don't have anything to play this on but watching whatever jerma learned on his own almost made me cry. I don't know if it's the scenery or the fact that a human thought all of this up. Something so bizarre and unreal made in a way that makes me feel it can be real. Maybe I need to sleep cus it's 4 am rn
I love outer wilds too and jerma. But god I watched the stream and it was so painful lmao. Nothing stuck with him, he understood nothing, and he left without really properly experiencing what the game had to offer. I have a friend with adhd and dyslexia I tried to get to play it, they couldn't focus, ran past everything, and left bored an unimpressed. Outer wilds is a game of focus, thinking and solving, and unfortunately a lot of people just don't click with that kind of structure

Even nastier than that. It was an ISLAND (with the ship parked on it), hitting him. :) I saw the distance readout for the ship counting back down, and realized what was coming... not because I got killed by a falling island myself, of course! Certainly not! (cough)
For the best roasted marshmallow experience you let it catch on fire and blow it out before it melts off the stick. You eat it skin and all. If you're going full blown smores you can let it burn slightly longer but you gotta hold the graham cracker just right so that you don't get burned if it slides off early.
