I have a headcanon for Flora, based on her vacation home. I always thought it was a little weird that she’s considered an ostrich, when she’s clearly a flamingo, so I decided that she lost her family at an early age and was adopted by ostriches (so she considers herself culturally an ostrich, because she was raised in the culture), but she also yearns to reconnect with her flamingo roots and always longed to know her family better. Her home has Mr. and Mrs. Flamingos, showing her desire to belong with other flamingos, but she has never found other flamingos (which is why her music of choice in her vacation home is “Only Me”).
Instead of a tea setup for Alice, maybe a farm to table type thing? A big gathering spot. (Reminds her of her large family, but she gets more support from the other villagers)
For Daisy, maybe she was insecure about her clothing because she was bullied for only wearing the same few outfits all the time due to her family’s situation. She was inspired to start making her own clothing and fabrics and wants to help others to learn that fashion and comfort isn’t limited. She moved to Kalon to take a break from the criticism of the world and to continue to experiment with different materials that could be accessible to anyone 🥰
19:40 maybe for Daisy, to tie in the fabric/laundry area idea, growing up she loved sewing her own outfits and creating new stylets for herself, and people weren’t too kind to her and made fun of her outfits. So she decided she wanted to live in a place where people supported her creativity and she moved to Kalon to be able to be free, wear the outfits she creates, and in turn, become close friends with Mable and Sable and helps them with some of the clothes for the shop! (maybe in the shop where we hang clothes in the shop, those can be like “Daisy’s Creations” and she can have a fabric staton and laundry station to wash all of her clothes she makes!
I love the idea of the laundromat for Daisy. Maybe she is kind of a perfectionist and cleaning fanatic. She always bumped heads with people around her because of it. So she decided to move away and start new. She loves the beach but is not super into the feeling of sand under her paws and on her clothes, so she decided to make a bunch of clothes with shell motives, etc for friends and to send to her family. She also opened a laundromat to always wash away her perception of the "bad" part of living on an island.
Maybe Daisy loves making handmade clothing (flower crowns, knitting, sewing), which comes from her experience growing up in a low-income household where she had to learn these skills and take care of her younger siblings. After coming out of that situation, she was able to rekindle her passion for handmade clothing and knows all of the proper care techniques. Therefore, she spends a lot of time at the laundromat as she gets nervous and wants to make sure everyone’s clothes will last as long as possible and ends up running the place and making it her own.
I just see daisy being a super old lady that loves just knitting. (Rocking chair, anything sewing related) i think she’s just an old soul! She’s just a lovely old lady.
You can also add the laundry part of it.. older - prefers to hang her laundry and sit on her patio and knit. I think this suits her overall personality (imo)
I was getting this vibe from the story as well, that she’s either older than everyone or more mature and maternal towards everyone 😊
Maybe Alice can have a painting place where they drink coffee / tea and paint on dropped / placed gyroids. :)
I imagine Daisy as someone who speaks in a soft voice, who's very patient and very kind and always have a piece of chocolate close at hand to give to you when you feel depressed. Always prepared for everything and someone you can really rely on

Maybe Daisy has big brothers who work as shepherds and give her wool. She dyes and spins the wool and knits or weaves clothes with it. The sweater she wears is one of her favorite designs. When she sells clothes she always offers laundromat service, because she knows how to make sure the colors don’t fade.
Oooo - Daisy could have a neurodivergence which manifests in sensory issues. Sock seems, itchy sweaters, stuff thats too tight, fabric that is too stiff etc REALLY upsets her, so she turned to making / repairing / and washing clothes and runs a ultra accessible, low sensory issue clothing/laundry shop to make everyone comfortable and happy!
Maybe Alice could have a smoothie/juice bar. Though she has family burn out, she loves to nurture and takes pleasure in tending the farm and using it to nourish the tourists and fellow residents.
Wow, I can relate to almost everything in Alice's backstory. Everything from her personality to her hobbies [I also gift artwork to others], and being the oldest sibling. Growing up, I looked after my younger siblings and some of my younger cousins too. I even built a farm as my home in the game. This is kind of spooky.
I think Alice is cute but my favorite villager is Daisy. 😆 I actually have her on my island. From what I can tell from my conversations with her is that she's reliable, a planner, she likes to read and she gets along with other villagers.
Oh my gosh! I love this idea so much! I thought my little head cannon thoughts for my islands were rubbish, but I think I’ll use them and make my island based on the story!

I started watching/listening to your lp when I restarted my own island (going for a small fantasy town vibe) and it's so fun to listen to your backstory for your villagers (I thought I was the only one who did that, ahaha) and I learned a few fun things along the way ! (the 15 tree branches thing saved my life, thank you)
It amazes me how different our building styles are - you kind of just micro-manage an area until its done and start from the entrance on, and have a very organic/natural style where I start from the back usually, I like to figure out where all my buildings go and work from there, and I use a lot of straight lines, symmetry and repetition. I really want to learn to put more detail in my islands - they always seem a little bare to me.
For Daisy, I like the idea of her working with fabrics and textiles ! Maybe she does little sewing and embroidery workshops, and take care of the island's laundry because its something that comes easily to her, and it's a way for her to help and support the other islanders who might be struggling more ? Daily tasks can be really difficult to keep up with if you're burned out or depressed.
Where I grew up there was a little laundromat that also had a convenience store. Maybe that could work with Daisy.
So for daisy.. Daisy has always love knitting up pillows and clothes, but she had never told her parents. Her parents really wanted her to become a nurse, and so she did with bad pressures. After 2 weeks of being a nurse she couldn’t handle all the stress, she didnt like seeing people die or get sick and that made her cry A LOT. So while she was still a nurse she would knit to forget about everything.. soon she quit being a nurse and got the courage to tell her parents that this was not what she desired. Fortunately her parents are very supportive and apologized for making her feel pressured, and encouraged her to knit.. though, she wanted a fresh start somewhere not because of her parents, she loved them very dearly but because she wanted a community to express her feelings and stresses to because she is very emotional. So she moved to your island! She loved it very much, and luckily her parents were fine with it as long as she would visit them. Since she loved knitting she gave knitting classes! She also loved the smell of laundry so she had a laundry area to wash your pillows and clothes.
Love all these story lines & watching how excited you get when a new idea pops into your head. 💜 Can't wait to see how these all come together on the island!
Last time, I thought of a little addition to Dotty’s story:
I think it would be interesting for her to have imposter syndrome and feel like she doesn’t deserve to take up a spot on the island. Maybe she signs up on a whim and begins to spread her passion to others through the swimming/yoga classes and, along the way, she meets and connects with her neighbors who teach her to open up. Deep down, she knew that she needed this experience, but the tough outer shell that she developed over her athletic career prevented her from being honest with herself.
What if to connect Daisy to laundry, maybe she comes from somewhere that's very polluted and she was from a poor family. So she loves laundry because like you said it smells wonderful and she wanted to live somewhere that has clean air and smells lovely, so maybe flower crafts fit with that as well. Of course as a dog she has very sensitive sense of smell, so living somewhere clean and fresh is good for her and she loves cleaning things and making things smell good
If you want to give Alice a hobby or activity related to painting and crafting she could be express that creativity through nail art. she could run her business out of her home and take on more elaborate designs than the average spa would. that way if you want you could still have a nail painting area in your house!
I like Deli's backstory, but I would add that he comes from a very wealthy family and they wanted him to go into business or finance, thus the stress! Now he just wants a quiet, more simple lifestyle with his books and writing so he can explore that part of him that his family could never quite understand.
Dang it, I was once again a bit late for Alice's story I had in mind. It was quite similar to the "popular girl dating the golden boy" story, and now that I know the other versions, I might even integrate that.
Alice was always the girly, bubbly and outgoing kid which then became the popular girl in high school. Because of that, she also had many shallow "friends" who abused her popularity for themselves and to get the attention of the popular boys they had a crush on. Alice did not know how to handle that and continued being nice to everybody, something that quickly turned into her becoming a people pleaser. After some time, people started to believe that her kindness was fake, only a mask to make them like her. She lost many genuine friends, the fake ones who kept abusing her stayed, and Alice continued becoming more and more insecure.
After graduating, she decided to cut them all off. Afraid that people would think she is fake for being nice, she stopped talking to them entirely and became shy and hesitant. Being a people pleaser and the caretaker of her younger siblings, her needs always came second, and she had no time to find her own passion and goal in life. She was just burnt out, felt isolated and lost. Moving to Kalon was her hope in reconnecting with nature and get rest, healing her relationship with people by meeting ones that had similar experiences, and having time to find her own passion. She liked being artistic to cope with her past, but she also enjoyed gardening and being around nature to ground herself and remind her of the simple things in life. Having big almost therapy-like sessions with the other residents help her overcome her own struggles while cheering them up and help them, without returning to being a people pleaser. After some time, she warms up and forms meaningful connections to the others, which slowly returns her bubbly personality. Being a caretaker doesn't bother her when she's getting support from the others, so she becomes the one on the island who organizes parties, checks up on them and cooks big meals for all of them.
Maybe Daisy could upcycle used clothing as a creative outlet and likes to retail her creations.
I just love all those little thoughtful stories. The villagers suddenly turn into those characters that you can connect to even more. 🥹

maybe daisy and alice use to live next to each other in there home and alice told daisy about her new home and how much it helped her.she wants daisyto move there to get away from the bullying of there home town and to imbrace her hobbie and love for knitting and sewing.

Daisy could have grown up without a lot of money so she was made fun of because of her old patched clothing. Daisy moves to Kalon to open a clothes shop/laundry station that is either free or very cheap. So that anyone could buy new clothes and keep them clean.
For daisy : there is a shop window item with glasses in it that could work for this, i don't know the name though
What if Daisy and Alice are dating? And they're both taking care of each other and learning how to be taken care of by splitting up some household chores? Alice was always tasked with doing laundry for her siblings and really can't stand it now, so daisy does that for her. And maybe daisy always had to do cooking so Alice handles the food for the two of them? I just love the idea of soft caretaking lesbians learning to accept love and themselves 💕
