    So which one would you suggest the most nmax or pcx

    • @BikeMatters
      @BikeMatters  Před 3 lety +10

      Both are great options! All depends on individual needs and wants tbh. The PCX is a bit cheaper, likely better economy, and offers quite similar performance to the Nmax. The Nmax however, has dsic brakes all-around (PCX has rear drum) and dual ABS, along with the variable valve actuation system which allows quite good acceleration up to about 50mph. Really not a lot to separates these two, and will be personal preference.

      @@BikeMatters All this crying about the lack of a rear disk brake is completely OTT. I have one and ride it 'enthusiastically' and there have been zero issues on the rare occasions that I've needed to anchor up, both on dry and wet roads. Sure, if you REALLY yank the rear brake all the way home you'll lock up the wheel, but you're not braking correctly if you reach that point as the front disk brake handles the vast majority of braking duties just fine on its own, so long as you've got some tread on your tyre.
      If you want to pay around £300-500 more for an Nmax which has zero storage and you'll also have to carry your lid around everywhere with you, just to have a rear disk brake which you might actually use properly on approximately 2 occasions in your entire ownership, sure - go ahead and live with that trade off.
      For me the PCX functions just fine and I suspect all those worked themselves up into a lather over the rear drum brake have either never ridden one or if they have, they don't know how to ride properly. It's a complete non-issue. Let's not forget that most cooking-spec cars these days still come with rear drum brakes as standard and everyone manages just fine.

    Have an sh125, it has dual abs top box and bigger screen. The pcx has a slightly bigger fuel tank, and just about the same spec, except for rear abs. Those chrome bars could take a bit of attention [polish], having previously had bikes with chrome wheels etc, they would tarnish if constantly exposed to rain. The chrome handlebar is kind like the image of Honda PCX. It shouts quality unlike most handlebar that comes with plastic cladings. I own the 2019 PCX, after more than 33,000 km, the handlebar is still shiny like new with just a simple wash. Plastic would need some kind of oiling to enhance its look. I happened to test ride the Honda Forza 300. I wish the Forza comes with stainless steel handlebar as well, may be a more sturdy version of some sort

      Such an awkward one to answer as I rate both very highly along with the Piaggio Medley.
      I would be delighted to have either tbh. PCX is more budget-friendly and slightly more economical, Nmax is more of the complete all-arounder with the Variable Valve Actuation and better braking too, I tend to side to the latter ever so slightly. Both scooters really are great and there isn't a simply one is best, it will be what is best for your personally.

    It’s a good all round scoot by the look and sound of it, not overly keen on the Keyless ignition remote idea, good candidate for losing it while out and about abs then being stranded.
    I think I’d prefer a key ignition if that was an option.

      I personally didn't get to ride the Sym Jet X (review coming soon) Roger said it was brilliant, with very little in the way of negatives, I rode the PCX and it is simply one of the best 125cc scooters on the market, I would give it to the Honda personally but really not a lot in it and always best to have a look at both in person.

    Pcx, Medley or Nmax
    Where would your money go?

    • @BikeMatters
      @BikeMatters  Před 3 lety

      All three are great options and it is just down to each rider.
      PCX is cheaper and probably the most economical and has pretty much everything a commuter would want.
      The Medley is the more expensive option though has the most powerful engine and has a little extra stability due to the large wheels, with excellent braking.
      The Nmax is the all-arounder it basically has a mix of everything inc brake discs front and back with dual ABS, along with VVA and funnily enough is smack back in the middle for money too.
      I thoroughly enjoyed my time on all three and each one has its own perks.

    • @BikeMatters
      @BikeMatters  Před 3 lety

      all down to personal choice, as very little, separates the two! PCX is slightly cheaper with better fuel economy (just), Nmax though has disc brakes to back as well as front and has dual ABS along with the VVA system for spritely acceleration. No right or wrong here, just personal preference - they are both great options.
