Iâm so very grateful to the people who built these stairwell
Sheâs also using some kind of sound editing
Nevertheless beautiful
Well i can tell you one thing, i've sing this song in empty ships hallway/staircase,and this song sound so great theređ(even i just CANT sing)
This is so beautiful

Me: I think Iâm not terrible at singing

Sad, I can relate
You know what's super trippy? Playing this video twice using two different tabs except one of the tabs is slightly delayed it kind of cuts off in one tab and starts in the other. Filled my ears with Lauren's mesmerising voice and I loved every second of it!
I do that with music all the time, a lot of stuff is super good like that!!
Add a couple of magic mushrooms. Earbuds on full blast. I been here for hours đ đ”âđ«
Me: Whats included in the utilities each month?
Leasing office: We have a woman who sings in the stairwell....
Me: I'm sold.....
Lauren over here raising rent prices and nobody's even mad
Can you imagine being a fan and living in her building? Dream come true also probably wouldnât go in the stairwell at night lol
Here Here!! Some prices are worthy of being paid Sir!
Yup!
The acoustics are great
Lauren Paley doesn't realize this, but her videos are curing everyone's boredom
I listen her vids on the bus cus I get bored
And soothing sad souls. Lords work, bless her. âș
thats the whole point of being a content creator mate
*depression
Maybe She know : )
Lauren would be an ideal cast member on the new LOTR Amazon series. Laurenâs striking elvish beauty coupled with the voice of an Angel would be a great asset for that seriesâŠ.x
Omg youâre the sweetest! đ€
petition to have Lauren on the new lotr! â€ïž
I couldnât agree more with this statement. Devine elvish beauty.
At least have her sing all the songs
Let's get Amazon involved in this STAT
Itâs weird. I can literally still hear this in my head like itâs out loud. Thought the video restarted, but no, sheâs just so crystalline that my ear worm is a live concert.
Yep I can still hear it too!
I can only imagine what a drunken Lauren sounds like.
Seriously though, this is great (just like your other videos).
If you are trying to say you think she should do an episode of Drunk History, I'd watch that
I can only imagine what a drunken Lauren sounds like,
I can only imagine what a drunken Lauren sounds like,
I can only imagine what a drunken Lauren sounds like,
EAR-LAY IN THE MOR-NING
I love how you snuck in the backing vocals!
I was wondering if anyone else heard the harmonizing or if I was just imagining them lol
I thought it was an echo cause of the stairwell...
Feeling a little dumb right now đ
But nonetheless it's an astonishing cover!!
Lauren MURDERS every song she covers, not kills, MURDERS
Omg Thank you đđ
Not slays MUTILATES
What a strange thing to say.
Agreed
Annihilates.
She has a great talent. Iâm surprised someone this young even knows or is interested in such old classic sailor songs
*I exist.*
Am I hearing overtones when she sings âway hay up she risesâ? Thatâs freaking amazing my ears canât get enough of it!
I thought I heard that too! I was wondering who was harmonizing with herđ
@@carosamchwa3081 Another Stairwell Sea Shanty for you today! Drunken Sailor đ»âïž *all harmonies added over video sung by me* (pretending I have a crew đ)
I think it's edited to give her harmonies on the chorus, they don't show up in the verses.
@@aishiteirutoittekure Another Stairwell Sea Shanty for you today! Drunken Sailor đ»âïž all harmonies added over video sung by me (pretending I have a crew đ)
I think she was in the right tempo to harmonize with herself off her own echo and way and hey are so close in sound that it overlaid perfectly.
I remember having to sing this in school
Me toooo, I can believe I still remember it đ
yeah lol I still remember how to play a bit of it on the keyboard
Same
Same here at school in Germany
me too but are we revealing our age here?
OMG, I sang this 30 years ago in high school and I've never forgotten it. Thank you for this BEAUTIFUL walk down memory lane!
Good lord, that reverb making it sound like there are 3 different harmonies going on at the same time during the "wey hey and up she rises."
Chef's kis gold.
This has soo much potential, that voice with a full orchestra, massive bass drum = could be a massive hit of a revamped classic đ„
My depression doesn't stand a chance when LP sings
Seriously eat meat dump the carbs
Easily my favourite video you've ever done. Your tone here is GORGEOUS.
I came to listen to an old Irish song and now I am in love... great, just great
Iâve seen this video 100 times still awesome.
THE IRISH ROVERS did the best version of this, yours is up there ;)
Imagine hearing this walking down the stairs đ
Iâd simply be late to work just to listen to this in person
I'd tap my foot to the tune
Especially dragging out to a work day.
I'd leave _skipping._
Such a beautiful voice đ€© the reverb adds to it as well :)
Drunken sailor is a manly song, and she made it the same way she looks. So so so so so... Beautiful đđđđđ
I love this song!
It's so catchy, plus it gives you practical advise on disciplining inebriated mariners.
Yesss!!!! Get it girl!!!!
Love this and this version makes it sound more epic
Absolutely Awesome! Congrats by the way on the edition.
I love singing in a stairwell too. The acoustics are so much fun! I love the way the sound just bounces off the walls and echoes in the passages! Thank you for this! Now I don't feel so dorky for enjoying my own stairwell singing.
You're so talented and I dig the jig. Keep our ears and spirits up in these trying times. We're here for it!
This is simply amazing. Have been singing this song for 50+ years, since my dad taught it to us as kids. Somehow it sounded way different back then, must have been our bellowing and hollering. He was a Korean War era Marine. Thank you for recording this. Brought back fond memories.
They played this when I graduated US Navy boot camp in 1986. You just took me back 30+ years Lauren. Thank you for the smile.
I bet they're not even allowed to mention a drunken sailor in todays buttercup NAVY ...
@@fjb4932 Have you ever served? I highly doubt it or you would know better to disparage any branch of the military. Move along civilian.
In the days of sail, one of the most difficult jobs was raising the anchor. If you ever paid attention to the size of a Royal Navy or US Navy anchor, they were deliberately huge, heavy and unwieldy. The capstan with its pawls and the cable at ankle level feeding in,the group effort was at the limit of endurance.
You can hear the push/push to get one clank at a time as the cable, dripping with seawater and slime feeds in.
My father was in the WWII Canadian Navy, the RCN. There were older men who served beside him who remembered the days of sail and unpowered fishing schooners . As a child he taught me this and told a few stories of just why shanties and hornpipes were used.
Your era of Navy service was as distant to WWII as their era was to my father. But the continuity is there. Being at sea, facing the power of the sea,and forced to get along with widely different personalities in very cramped quarters. Any Navy is big on tradition. Nice to know they worked at keeping that.
I love your voice, the energy you give through the screen only with your smile and voice, it's enchanting Lauren. I love your channel, You are amazing! đ
Lauren's voice just made this more epic then it ever was!
Almost as good as Malinda
The Longest Johns has what has become my favorite version of Drunken Sailor. This is coming close.
Thank you. Your song put me in a positive mood .
Absolutely amazing Lauren !!đ I got literal chill's from the beginning !!
I remember singing this on the playground when I was like 5! Seeing it blow up was so nostalgic for me but this version just blew me away!
Girl, you make it sound like that hallway echoes in harmonics! Perfect song for the venue!
Wow. Itâs like the overtones ringing in the stairwell after the note she just sang create harmonies for the new notes sheâs singing. Crazy. And letâs say, this little song is so often sung in the same spirit as something like âthis old manâ that itâs jarring to hear a deeply rendered version. Moving
Lauren: *breathes*
Me: INSTANT LIKE.
Love the pirate energy
I love the echo from the stairwell - makes it sound from far away, long ago. Lovely singing!
WOW!! You throw yr body and soul into a song and turn it into a symphony!
Almost anything that she would sing would be an instant hit
When people usually sing this, it sounds like a bunch of boisterous sailors eager to troll their idiot friend cos dems the rules. When Lauren sings this in her stairwell, it sounds like Amphitrite herself has taken offence at the misconduct and has issued a chilling decree of punishment that the fearful sailors will hurry to execute in the hopes of expiating her terrible wrath. I love it!!! â€ïž
It's 4:06 am here in South Carolina and I'm listening to Lauren sing and my day just got better. Thank you Lauren for sharing your angelic voice with us.
Applause! realy fantastic performed!!!!! Bravo
Aah reminds me of Assassin's Creed 4đ. You nailed it Laurenđč
When Kenway and his crew sail with the Jackdaw hunting for Templar ships..
I've heard this shanty for at least 60 years, but this is my favorite rendition.
Great acoustics. The reverb makes it sound like more than one singer. Amazing
Yo this is an absolute masterpiece
Yeah, seeing a pretty girl sitting in a stairwell lulled me into thinking this rendition would be lackluster at best. BOY, was I WRONG! Excellent rendition, Lauren, you seem to understand shanties and foc'sle songs better than most! Keep it up!
Hurray! More shanties!
This.. is.. the.. BEST.. version.. EVER.
Thanks, ma'am.
A lady and a stairwell singing in a duo. Just amazing. So elegant!
This is the best version of the song Iâve heard yet!!
It'd be nice to hear "Ten Thousand Miles Away"
That sounds effing amazing!
My favorite shanty! Listened to it all the time growing up. Best version I have heard!
I remember having to sing this in 4th grade advanced music class.....circa 1978.đ...great job!
I remember singing this in 1958 in music class.
We sang it in music class in 1996 I believe.
This is sooooo goood đđ»
I can feel the JACKDAW approaching !! â€ïžâ€ïž
A song in a stairwell acting as a natural resonation chamber. Brilliant. No sarcasm. Brilliant.
Always look forward to these but Im still waiting for a guy from upstairs coming down with his rubbish awkwardly saying hello

You have such a wonderful voiceđ
The âwheeeey heeey up she risesâ give me the goosies every time! I love your voice đ

Amazing voice! She is a gifted singer. I've watched many of her videos and in each one the purity of her voice shines.
I had a great teacher who taught us a LOT of these old songs in 4th grade and I didn't realize how precious a gift it was. Decades later, I still remember the lyrics, if not her name. Thank you so much anonymous teacher!
That was badass beautiful I definitely felt this
The acoustics are amazing. I can see this catching on. She should start singing other songs in the stairwell. Studios wouldnt have the same sound.
I'd love to hear Lauren cover the 'Longest Johns' lyrics version of this.
The acoustics in that stairwell are awesome! Awesome voice!
That's so bloody awesome
That was amazing Lauren! Thank you so much! Brought back fond childhood memories of watching Captain Pugwash cartoons after school as a kid in the 70s.
Her voice is super rich, which is one of the reasons we are all here every single time she posts. đ€Ł

Awesome. Best use of the acoustic environment of the stairwell
Wonderful use of acoustics here!
I love how the echo is singing with you fully, you must have realy strong voice to do that
0:33 that voice break just adds to the majesticness of this cover
Neighbours: "SHUT UP ALREADY! I'M TRYING TO SLEEP!"
Nobody expected the stairway to haven is made of concrete! đ
Nice! I'd love to sing and play guitar with you!
If I heard this in my stairwell, I would immediately start singing and dancing around
Love the effects the cement stairwells and cement block stairwells have on sound. I used to play my Native American flute in the stairwell at work on my breaks and it sounded beautiful. Love that sea shanty!
If I lived in your building I would literally camp out on the stairs 24/7 waiting for you to come out and sing
I have got to ask this question: "When you do these stairway videos, do you ever get applause from people going through to their cars??"
Would you please do more titanic covers? Specifically The Heart Of The Ocean? I love sea shanties this was awesome!
Idk why I need more of sea shanty!!
The acoustics is outstanding with her voice.

@@emilymulcahy she was avoiding a Ubisoft Copyright Strike.
@@dragonmaster613 I think it had more to do with time, she never really finishes a song, and copyright strikes happen after 20-30 seconds and this was longer
Iâve definitely heard a verse shave his balls with a rusty razor. Lmao. Not from her but in this song before
