Thanks for watching this video on the nu metal guitar sound! When I think of PRS guitars I tend to think of bands like Incubus, Sevendust, Limp Bizkit, POD, Linkin Park and Nickelback. A lot of those bands used (and some still do) Mesa Boogie Rectifier amps too. So that is a tone combo that does have a legedary status! This video focuses on that sound!
So with my Paul Reed Smith SC58 and Mesa Boogie Dual & Mini Rectifier we aim to get that sound! My Fractal Audio X-Load LB-2, Line 6 Helix Native and OwnHammer Workhorse V30 IRs are also used.
I also took this opportunity to do another little comparison between the big Dual Rectifier and the Rectifier Twenty-five! Watch for the A/B comparison near the end!
Thanks for watching! Please drop a comment down below as I'd love to know your thoughts! Also subscribe along with the bell and follow SDS at:

I've been rocking a PRS Custom 22 and a Mesa Triple Rectifier since 2008. Eric Weaver from 12 Stones is the reason period. Breaking Benjamin all time favorite band my band wouldn't have gotten on the radio if it wasn't for those guys. I'll be a PRS/Mesa guy until I die. Ordering a Badlander soon also saving up for a McCarty 594. Excited for the quad cortex too should get it soon.

This is one of the coolest comments, not many people I know have heard of 12 stones. Also right there with you BB is my all time favorite, wouldn’t of picked up a guitar if it weren’t for the album Dear Agony. Those riffs mesmerized me when I was younger

This sounds great. Do you have any videos on achieving a similar tone through Amplitube?

Thos bands I always def think of PRS haha. As an honorable mention, Chevelle. I always loved their tone and their interesting use of string scratching and pinch harmonics.

As soon as the song started, it felt like I was playing MX vs ATV. Mission accomplished, I'd say!

    awesome sound, dude!
one question: do you see a chance to create this sound on an HX stomp, using a LP with Fishman open cores humbuckers?
