In this video, get some wheels for my fat tires!! Gonna be running a square setup this year for the accord, and you’ll see exactly what I’m running.
I picked up some RPF1’s in a 18x9+35 offset for the front and back, and got some 265/40R18 Hankook RS3 tires for it. I wasn’t looking for a stretched look by any means, and was even looking for a bit of bulge.

When looking for wheels, I was stuck between 2 different sets. I was debating between pulling the trigger on Enkei RPF1’s and Enkei PF01’s. The PF01’s have a slightly different style, however are BBK friendly, regardless of the offset. Enkei makes both wheels in an 18x9+35, but due to the face design of each wheel, the PF01’s will clear my 4-piston brakes calipers, where the RPF1’s will not. I preferred the flat-face look of the RPF1’s more, which is why I pulled the trigger on them.

They’re both light, relatively inexpensive and nice race-proven wheels. I will have to do a bit of modifying to get these wheels to work with my car, but it is a good thing!! You’ll see..
Its dumb but the any of the RPF1’s do not come with centre caps, as they are a race wheel. If you do want some, you’ll have to buy them separately. I’ll probably pick some up as I had some on my other set of RPF1’s that I ran last year. They are a tad expensive, but there is a good reason for that. If you buy a set of wheels that have the caps included, 95% of the time the caps are made out of plastic. They work for street application, but if you track your car, they won’t.. The excess heat will make the caps warp and get damaged. I had to replace a set of my TSW centre caps last year because I had that problem. When I took my enkei’s to the track and got them hot, because they’re made out of aluminum, they didn’t get damaged, warp or even discolour what so ever. Here is a look to them if you’re interested.

Milan, this is a little unrelated but I'd like your insight please!
My winter tires are a bit cracked/dried out and the rims are a bit rusty. I cleaned them up and then sprayed rust check all over the rim and tire. I know the rim is fine to spray but will rust check hurt the tires? I sprayed them really good. I'm just a tad paranoid as it hasn't absorbed in a lot yet so I thought maybe I did something wrong as I've never rust checked the tires before.
Just wondering if you have any experience or know if rust check will hurt tire rubber or not

Any tire place that does not remove the label from the tire before balancing I would not recommend. I know it's not that heavy but it does add some weight and drag while the balancing machine is running and spinning the tire. Are they lazy? Can anyone explain to me why they balance wheels with labels on them?
filling the tires are confusing there is gap between the rim and tyre so how does hold the air.

hey im thinking about getting enkei ty05 wheels for my 2012 civic maybe you can help me with choosing an offset, I would like my wheel to fit flush with the lip of fender but not have alot of dish on the face, can you help.

So because of these valve stems that you used you can't put the sensors on the wheels, is that what I understood? Do they make a sensor that fits those valve stems? Great video buddy and keep up the good work.

It depends on your desired firmness. I find 18x8.5+40 with 245/35R18s to look terrific on them! See if you can find a spec similar to that

Technically yes, but OEM Enkei's. They're the standard wheels that come with my Accord, but I changed the colour of them to black.
Are you going to turbo charge the accord in the future? That would be dope!
I thought about supercharging it, but since its my daily, I dont want to ruin the reliability of it. I dunno. We'll see :)

I was going to say... your not going to be able to fool your tpms system. Theoretically thats actually against the law in the states and your car wont pass inspection. Ditch those blue fancy dancy stems for proper sensors.
for 18 in tires, shouldnt you be running 265/45/r18? What difference will this make since you went with 40 instead of 45?

everydaylay they difference between 40 or 45 series tires is how tall the side wall is. 265/45/r18's are 265 mm wide 45% of 265 tall side wall rim 18. So if you got 40 its 40% 35 would be 35%
If you run a 265/45R18 instead of a 265/40R18, the diameter of the tire will be 5.6% larger than what came factory for the car. You should want to stay AT MOST within 3% from stock. The 40 profile that I'm running is 1.9% larger than stock. If you go too big, you might have fitment problems.
milanmastracci oh I understand. So if I want rubbers for my 18x8 rims - so since im not looking to run 265s.. I'm looking at 235s. Is 235/40/18 ok?
You'd be okay with going with either a 40 or a 45 side profile. If you go with the 40, you're 1.8% too small, and if you go with the 45, you're 1.78% too fast. If it was up to me, I'd go with the 235/45R18 if it were my accord.

I got mine from TireRack. They had a killer sale where the tires were going for sale for $71 each.. Just keep searching on there they have wicked deals if you're on there enough :)

What's the point of putting such fat, heavy tires on light weight wheels? You car clearly doesn't have the HP to need that much grip if it can't overcome the weight. I'd like your input on this

Just because a car doesn't have the means of spinning its tires in all of its gears, doesn't mean it shouldn't have a lot of grip? No my car doesn't have a bunch of horsepower to make it fast in a straight line, but race me in a circuit, and due to the extra grip and awesome handling, it will outperform a lot of cars. Its not always about raw power. In a drag race, will I lose to a lot of car, absolutely. But that's not what I'm going for. I'd love to have a friend that has a V6 accord to race him around a track and see the time difference.

Umm why did you get them "perfectly" balanced when they still have the sticker on the tire. That will cause an in balance once you take that sticker off
You're technically correct, but the weight of the sticker will not make a difference of the balance of the wheel to a noticeable extent. Thats like saying you should cut off the little tire vent spews, and you should shave them before balancing them.
why not 265/35/18 18x9.5 , that's what I'm used to seeing with 265s
Tire's too small circumference wise, and I also picked up these tires for ALMOST FREE... I picked them up for $71 each as opposed to like $250 each.

Because they weigh too much, and the set I would have gone with if I were to pick up Vossens, would be 20". But I was tired of the harshness of my 19" wheels, which is why I dropped down to a 18".
I'm trying to find some rpf1s also. My 20x10.5 cv3 weigh about 28lbs each. Those enkeis weigh like 17lbs each lol. Huge difference
