    Your videos and philosophy is awesome. I’m done trolling and downloaded the free stuff.
    Training for the 800m, so I’m currently building a threshold base where I’m not 90-95 max effort and doing 2 x 10 x 150m… but What i hear you saying is that May not be as beneficial as doing 2 x 5 or even 1 x 5 at closer to max rep. 100/200m is a lot different than 800 so trying to build my ASR (for reader is anaerobic speed reserve)… so I think I’m just gonna mix in some of the max effort low volume workouts, rest day, and then do the thresholds- honestly after 6 weeks of thresholds I can feel my body adapting- it’s getting easy. Goal is to get to that 23-24 sec 200 so I have reserve to hit 26-27 no problem. Hit me back! You’re awesome dude!

    Just curious how fast you are or were. Like when you first started to run vs at your peak. Would like to know the difference. I just started to run this year. My 100m is 12 seconds without any training or experience. Looking to see how much I can go down with diet , training and drills. Thanks

      I never really ran in the past, I did track but was a 1600 to 800m runner. Then I wanted to sprint junior and senior year but Covid took away my seasons. I eventually brought my 40 from 5.2 to 4.5 and I started coaching at that age too (16 years old.) eventually I got the opportunity to train multiple sprints from 11.2 to mid to low 10s (FAT laser timing)

    Wonder if Carl knows he will most likely not get this type of athleticism-focused training at whatever football program he winds up with. Sadly most S&C coaches still have very antiquated training methods.
    Be a good idea to ensure this type of work remains in his regimen even if he has to supplement it himself somehow.
    I ran D1 track in the SEC and our football players were absolutely NOT getting this type of attention and guidance.
    If you want to be elite it is almost a requirement to maintain a partnership with a private coach OR someone with a high level of knowledge and experience who understands you as an athlete and can map out your plan. Major football programs have a lot of money, facilities, and resources BUT they often force the athlete into their S&C + Speed (if they have one)plan rather than build specific plans with progression etc that ensure the individual athlete gets everything they need.
    This workout in the grass and parking lot and in that garage building is better than 99% of sessions you’ll get in system where a small group of S&C coaches have to develop 80+ players.
    Good job fellas - good to see two dedicated young men working hard to perfect their craft. Hopefully young viewers can be motivated by your example, pursue their goals and experience their own success as well.

      Thanks a lot I have also physically seen a big 12 schools track and field strength and conditioning and it was sadly a mess. Just because someone had the title of D1 doesn’t make them great at what they do. Low attention to detail, old school grinding methods. Just a big mess overall

    • @justjumari
      @justjumari  Před 11 měsíci

      This is a common mistakes coaches make, stress shielding, if the end goal is level 2-3 floors like basketball wood or anything hard, you want to expose those stresses to them often. Not 24/7 but with good loading progressions. If you always put them on grass and soft surfaces your shielding stress to the tendons that they need to adapt to so they can prevent injuries in the future
