But something to note: What the dev said doesn't invalidate the theories, REALLY. The dev is a Christian, clearly stated in his bio. This probably made people wonder if DOORS would take on a CHRISTIAN/Religious context. However, it could not! Many traits of entities in DOORS including the curious and guiding light (being angels, as suspected) or the entities being demons and homunculi contradict what we know in the Bible entirely. Let me say this: Demons, angels, baptism and crosses are items from religion, (which already contradicts the Tweet suggesting the game won't take a religious direction, it's already too late for that...) but those items and the presence of demonic and angelic figures do not make something "Christian." Think about all the non-Christian media that uses angels and demons. Those entities did originate from the Bible, but not every time they are depicted in media are they "Christian"... i.e. Biblical. All that being said, I don't think Game Theory's theory is wrong at all. I also don't think DOORS will go Christian/Biblical, such as the dev stated. It uses Religious context and imagery but that's it. Those things are simply devices being used to tell a story: that guiding and curious light are angels and most of the entities are demons. That's all.
They may be wrong but you gotta at least give them an applause for that clean animation

When you scratch something you move the hand down and up. So if el goblino was on the walls and maybe slid down then, it would leave a long mark.

Great thinking there and I agree. I wondered how kreek couldn’t have thought of this, or even the possibility that El Goblino has a transformation that enlarges him temporarily.
Yeah but the center of the mark is deeper than the rest and it forms a single chasm/valley shape. We’d see multiple hole like valleys if it was multiple scratches.

Matpat only said that CURIOUS Light couldnt interact with objects in the real world. He even said in his first video that Guiding Light took control of the crucifix. An object in the real world.
That actually makes sense because the Crucifix and the Candle does not work in The Rooms.

MatPat has to be right about the other realities all connected in the void theory. Because if you look through the hotel entrance in the doors lobby.. well.. you can see the same exact bridge in the void just floating in between time and space.

Honestly, The claw marks have got to be a connection to Dupe. Dupe has claws. You can see on the cover of the hotel update that he has three claws that are long and sharp.

I have a theory of curious light.
They wouldn't call the music 'curious light' for nothing. It seems to know a lot about rooms but doesn't share it, thinking it is already easy to understand (unless it has something to do with A-90). Maybe curious light knows about doors but has never seen it. It might be unable to open doors and it cannot go through the entrance so it needs the player to come and open doors for it. Because of its curiosity, curious light pushes the player onwards.
This is an underrated theory

what if one of the doors lead to another universe called “floors” and another leads to “stairs” or “ladders” or something like that?
Here's my theory. I feel like they aren't demons more of ghosts. And since it said inspiration it won't be a stretch to say the humuculus is real. And to be honest he said himself "Guiding Light destroyed the bridge". But if we're talking about Satan, what happened when Satan challenged God? He lost all his powers, so that might be the reason he can't interact with things. Therefore rooms could actually be well, hell. After Curious Light challenged God and got destroyed he was sent down to rooms along with 3 entities. When bob escaped rooms he opened up a way to travel through dimensions. Curious Light didn't notice until we came showing we came from a different dimension and he started to have hope. BUT here's my all time theory. The bridge in doors and rooms are very very very similar. I believe that when we were going to the hotel to look for the monsters, we actually warped through dimensions unknowingly. And now we are warping through constant dimensions, which explains celestial beings existing trying to help us live, but trying to make us die at the same time. So now we are stuck trying to escape a hotel, when in reality we should be focusing on escaping an entire dimension.
I knew about the guiding light knocking over the lamp in door 50 ever since my first time playing the update.
18:05 another reason the lamp couldve been knocked over was his intense movement he makes when he runs toward the door vibrating the room enough for the camera to shake which would mean the player and the lamp lose balance i think guiding light is just there to guide the player in the direction of the note

I do disagree with this. If Figure's movement really did cause the lamp to fall over instead of the Guiding light, How come is it that nothing else are affected by Figure's movement. In the cutscene where he walks towards us, The books on the shelves don't appear to have any kind of movement when Figure walks. If Figure really did cause the lamp to fall over, at least one of the books that had a empty spacing beside it would have fallen. And after collecting many books, Figure walks similar to the speed in the cutscene, yet things like the globe, paintings, books or anything unstable like the lamp don't seem to fall or move. Also, it'd be a bit unnecessary to have Guiding light over there just to get them to the note when there is already light on the note itself. Not to mention the light disappears after a few seconds.
TLDR: It is said on the official wiki that the fallen lamp is caused by Guiding light
The light is literally on the lamp.
If you turn to look at the lamp quick enough, you can literally see blue sparkles on it.
Redibles only said that the crucifix didn't MEAN it had a religious theme, that doesn't really mean he's saying that it doesn't. Also, maybe what Matpat means is that Guiding Light and Curious Light can't interact with the real world specifically in ROOMS. After all, both the crucifix and the candle don't work there, and both seem to be powered by Guiding Light.

Game Theory could be wrong about the religion part about DOORS like saying that Curious Light in ROOMS could be the devil in disguise but his other theories about DOORS was pretty interesting and spot-on.

Curious light is also on coins.. if you look closely coins have orange sparkles. He’s called curious light because he is curious and guides you not to the truth but to additions, backing up the fact that the rooms is an addition to doors why he appears there..
To be fair, it could be Dupe scratching the walls because the Doors thumbnail has Dupe with hands and arms, scratching the door it's behind.

Actually, those scratches could be El Goblino’s because when you scratch something back and forth it gets bigger so he must have done that, also he must have covered a larger distance to make the scratch longer

The lamp falling over In door 50 makes much more sense to why figure changes directions when he hears the door open
I personally think that Dupe made the claw marks on the walls, because in a picture it was shown with big claws scratching a door it was behind.

2:Redibles is christian himself and may have bias by saying that doors has no religious undertone in its lore, despite the obvious crucifix, and he even said there is inspiration, while i think some parts of matts theory are wrong i think its overall mostly right, as confirmed by a dev he is not totally correct.
I think there are more than just Curious light and guiding light like with other colours and soundtracks

The doors movie animator actually did that for the bacon guy for when they entered door 50, at the end it shows bacon glitch boy knock down a lamp, not sure if this has anything to do with it, but it's interesting to me.

If guiding light can help us physically why not do something big like assist in solving puzzles or tell what door dupe is behind or stop or try to stop bosses without the need for the crucifix
The footage of A-1000 was from another youtuber DV Plays and you can see that Matpat's character wasn't at the bottom, so DV didnt get the tablet.

It is possible that guiding light nocks something over in door 50, however it could also be nocked over because of the figures heavy footsteps because when for example the figure walks past you, the screen shakes. So maybe the figure stomping on the ground nocked over whatever fell down, and the guiding light is simply there to guide you to the paper
If that was the case all books in the bookshelfs would fell off, however, they don't

I do think the entity’s being demons and curious light being an angle isn’t directly religious but just more like mythical creatures like dragons so minus the satin theory I think he could be right.

a quick theory: two brothers come seeking help at the hotel but then have to face the entities at room 61 one brother goes into rooms while the other goes farther into the hotel they both die and become spirits one brother becomes curious light and the other is guiding light they ty and guid the players to escape and if the player gets through rooms and doors the spirits can finally be free

Well...we all know MatPat. Sometimes he always do misleading theory, even Doors already 2 times now is quite misleading. The first theory vid he said Doors is happened during war in 1900s (I believe), now he do a theory on monsters is demon and relate to religion
he's kinda right, everything has a point. what is the purpose of the guiding light (angel) in the door lore? it's to help the players pass the demons. it makes sense since why is there some old furniture in the hotel if it was modern? why did it have an infirmary? why was the guiding light there in the first place?

El gablino has good evidence about the scratches but in the thumbnail dupe can be seen with big claws due to that before you were here dupe might have the ability to get out of those doors
He cant get out of door's though and also everyone's forgetting that cupe can ONLY spawn when there's 2 door's which debunk's the theory because there's scratched wall's which only have 1 door
