- A compilation of interview clips of singer-songwriter Donna De Lory discussing her working relationship with Madonna through the years. Also includes the video for Just A Dream which was written & produced by Madonna & Patrick Leonard and appeared on Donna's debut solo album. Donna performed with Madonna as one of her backup singers from 1987 until 2007 both on tour and on record. She was also featured in Madonna's tour documentaries Truth Or Dare (1990) and I'm Going To Tell You A Secret (2004). Donna has also had success as a solo artist. After initially releasing a pop/rock album for MCA in the early 90's, she eventually gravitated towards devotional and world music and is now fully focused on this aspect of her career and on raising her two children. It depends what you value in singing. Donna has more range but Madonna has a better ability to emote and a richer more unique tone. At least Madonna used to before Evita vocal training and age made her tone more generic and thin.

Madonna's drive, discipline, and GALL set her apart from anyone else.
As a yoga teacher, i got her music.. just to try. i did not know she had been with Madonna; which was really authentic in 1998.... Now Yoga has bloomed and so has Donna doing what she loves(ultimate life) The chants have more power as well. Bless be to Donna !!!

The comments about how they are better than Madonna is very insulting and ignorant to the skills and talent of Madonna. Those who make silly comments about Madonna’s voice and how Niki and Donna are so much better need to educate themselves on the amazing 40 year career of Madonna, and how she is beyond just a singer but an all round performance artist. The woman has written/co-written and co-produced some of the best songs in pop music and her creativity is fantastic but gets zero credit for it from ignorant people in the comments.
I like listening to the master work of Donnas' Dad. He created absolutely beautiful magnificent arrangements for Glenn Campbell and others. Plus, I truly enjoy feeling the vibrations from her track 'Gaia Giya'- that piece of music is just stunning!
My God, to hear her tease the performance that would become truly iconic is almost surreal; it's been re-created by countless drag queens the world over and has also spawned countless reaction videos here on CZcams from new generations of kids that - even with all of the shock tactics, insane costumes, and theatricality of today's pop stars - are still awestruck by these performances. To every one of Madonna's hardcore fans, Niki and Donna were just as huge a part of some of our fondest memories, whether it be at a concert in person or on the VHS tapes and/or DVD's we wore out from watching them countless times.

markus winchester Nikki's last tour with Madonna was the Drowned World tour, Donna's last was the Confessions tour. Madonna has been using only singers with the name Nikki after Nikki Harris left.

Niki has an AMAZING voice (I mean hello, she was the gospel singer in Like A Prayer). She's what Madonna WOULD sound like, IF she had real range. I love Madonna, BUT, Nikki and Donna are the REAL singers. Donna's voice also is richer and fuller than Madonna's with way more range.

Donna had been singing since childhood, about 8. Madonna didn’t start singing until she was 20 or 21. Donna came from a musical family whereas Madonna’s upbringing was very square. Also, Donna had probably been receiving voice lessons since childhood whereas M was self-taught.

Donna sounds a little bitter about Madonna.
She has the right to have an opinion towards her former boss, but I think she must remember that she was HIRED to be a backing vocal of a demanding popstar and not to be her friend. Even tho, I agree that Madonna can be quite annoying.
