Update: battery life on the H5101 is terrible, lasting only 2 or 3 months!
Reviews of the Govee H5101 and H5075 Bluetooth Temperature and Humidity sensors. These connect by bluetooth to your phone and from there on the Govee mobile app you can look at charts of the data which is sent to the cloud. They're reliable, cheap and accurate.
    Battery lfie:
The 5101 is terrible. I'm changing the CR2450 batteries every 2 or 3 months. I also have the 5102 which is much better, lasting at least 6 months with a single AAA battery. And AAA batteries are half the price of CR2450s! The 5075 is also good; it uses 2 x AAA batteries, and so far it's 6 months. If you look at the Amazon reviews for the 5101 others also highlight the battery life as an issue. I really can't recommend these now.

Hey Scott, I just recently purchased the H5075 twin pack and noticed that side by side the temperature and humidity between the devices are off by about 1 point between the 2 units. Was wondering if you experienced this with your own units and if its normal for each unit to be slightly different in readings. (Thanks for the video)

Thos two models have quite a bit of discrepancy. The difference in the humidity reading is horrible

Do you think the h5102 is better than both of these? Which one of these two models did you like most that worked well and had the best battery life?

@@ScottAllison i ended up getting the 5102s since i had 1 5075 already and i didnt even know it was bluetooth compatible since someone gave it to me but bluetooth is amazing but i didnt want to look at the high and lows on the actual device so i went with the 5102 since it is basic and you can see the high and lows on the app from inside the house if you have them outback. it is legit and for sure the battery life on a aaa is going to last me longer than the cr2450s which sometimes are harder to fiind in the house. Thanks

Does it matter if you lay the H5075 flat or standing up? I use this for my reptile enclosure

I don't think it will matter. The hole for the air to circulate is on the side

@@ScottAllison I gave it a try, and noticed it does make a difference. It stays humid higher and longer when laid flat, rather than standing up. I then used 2 old probe wired hygros I had from before, and both matched the humidity when it was standing up

I really don't like the fact that the Android Govee app does not appear to save the data. In fact it doesn't even save the last temperature reading for each sensor. Every time the app wakes up it knows nothing.

Yeah it's frustrating. It seems to cache the last value, but not for very long. Now that yolink have improved their functionally I much prefer their temperature sensors
