used to play it when it was still subscription, which i thought was stupid plus having to spend real money to get guns and such, started playing cotw when it came out and it was alright but still too arcadie if you will. came back to this after a 4 year hiatus and man this game is a gem. thank you for keeping it alive.

my tip for a new player is always try to fire from a prone position with your .243 to begin with, it will make your shots more accurate as your rifle score with the gun will be non-existant at the beginning, thanks for the vid hoo:)
hunting from towers acts as a free no wobble simulator for any weapon lol.

One I can think of off the top of my head is, a poor shot with any firearm, the animal can stop bleeding and will never die. A shot with any bow and the arrow will always eventually kill the animal.

Hey, hoo. Do you think it's best to leave the render distance to low? I'm asking because of the spooking mechanic, i tested playing on low for a few hours and i noticed i was able to hunt so much more game than on very high render range.
I think it would be cool if the devs changed the graphics setting menu a bit, to allow you to change the render range without affecting the animal render distance with it. I like playing on very high, and i can clearly see an advantage of playing on low.
You have indeed come to the same results than other players that have said the weapons spook animals from further away with a higher render distance. Unless you expect some longer shots you might be better of with the lower value, also because a lower scene complexity puts less vegetation "in the way" so to speak and you can see some of the smaller animals better.
I mean that's more realistic......

Thank you so much I play a lot of COTW and have about 300 hours and wanna get into classic but don’t know if it’s worth it in 2021 still thinking about and heard it’s super hard to get EM without spending money so not sure if it’s worth it but thanks for this guide really helped !
I think it is certainly worth joining, because they still add animals and missions and have events around special times such as Christmas, Easter, Valentines, etc.
There is em$ which you either need to buy, or you can win in competitions. But there is also gm$ which you can earn very similar to CotW, by shooting animals and completing missions. You can get a lot of gm$ by participating in daily missions, or by doing the mission packs. Doing the missions also helps you learn the different animals.
Feel free to send questions, or you can also join discussions in the forum (forum.thehunter.com) or Skype. Discord is also active but I would not consider it a good place to find your info.

I started playing this game a few days ago and I am enjoying it but I have no intentions of spending money on the game, I don't know how far I can play without spending money but I will see soon I guess
Any chance there will be travel missions for reserves that don't have them yet? Is there a reason that some reserves don't have them or they just haven't made them yet?
Other things to do would be the most likely reason for not having done them yet.

It seems lately animals spook easier than usual at close range. I'm trying to do the last Turkey mission and they will not get under 18 meters no matter what I do: prone, treestand, camo, scent cover, behind solid objects. The mission is for under 13.5 meters. Did something change?
That's weird because I can call them under my treestand with no issues. Most issues come from people being in multiplayer, or people using dogs. Could that be the case?
@@HooCairs Sometimes I had a dog, but I thought they were far enough away. I'll try it again without a dog. It has been actually creepy. LOL ... Being in a treestand, camo, decoys, and the turkey turn and stare from 18m. It's like they are starring at me though the screen like a horror movie. LOL
@@RAH1970 Pretty sure leaving the dog at home will fix the issue.

@@RAH1970 What I have seen, Bobcat Lynx Turkey and Blacktail have that bug with dog that they flee from further away.
What animal should I hunt as a beginner . It seems like we need some kind of special ammo for every kind of animals and birds .
I m complete beginner.
Hunt some whitetail bucks with the .243 or birds with the shotgun.

Why when I use snake bite bow and I drop animal under my tree stand other (far animals) spoke !
The bows are not completely silent and their shot sound has a spook radius as well. After the first shot they might only get nervous, after the second they run.
@@HooCairs from first shot if there is any animal far away get spoked
So what does it mean when my circle is dotted after the third clue?
It means the animal is not in range. When it turns solid, the animal is likely within 200m.

I've been playing for 12 hours on the game but I can only find birds any tips
1. Use map Whitehart Island
2. Start at 10am at the southern lodge ("South Cliff Lodge").
3. Walk north-west and you will for sure hear the call of a whitetail deer or in some rare cases an elk.
4. Use your bleat caller to call it in and shoot it with the .243. A buck will give you money (gm$).
5. Coyotes will be there a bit further north which you can also shoot with the .243. For elk use the shotgun with slug ammo.
6. If no luck just restart and do the same. You cannot miss them there.
Was the rifle at the beginning of the video the 243 or the 270?

Why I can't sell the animal after take photos.

for some reason my spotting does not work on any animal
Keep looking at the animal until the info pops up. When your spotting skill for this animal is still low, it takes quite some time. Here is more info: thehunter.fandom.com/wiki/Spotting_Skill
Some will run from you and some will attack you.
Every time i kill an animal i dont mget any score or anything it just says score 0
Female deer and turkeys do not have a score and will not give you any money.

Go to the mission tabs and smash them out. Can make good gm's that way. Accept every mission. My to do it is I do the daily mission and then i find normal missions that compliment that mission. So do the travel and sight seeing missions for that map you pick. Then look out what animals are on the map and find out the missions and requirements for those animals. Some kills can complete multiple parts of the mission set. So spot an animal might complete the mission the the next part might be a kill on a male. Then the next part might be harvest said animal. So alt tab and accept the next mission after refreshing the mission tab accept the next mission in the chain. Before you kill and before you harvest
