- Want to re-live some of your favorite movies? Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park has set the scene for some of the biggest films in history, including Back To The Future 3, Transformers: Age of Extinction, Easy Rider, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, and Mission Impossible 2.
Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park has a 17 mile scenic drive along the border of Utah and Arizona. This is part of tribal land and is still inhabited by members of the Navajo Nation. Along our drive, we stood in awe at towering sandstone cliffs over 1000 ft tall, standing strong in a vast open land almost 10,000 acres wide.
After your visit to Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park, don't forget to check out Forrest Gump Hill, but be careful! This stretch of land has been made infamous by the blockbuster, Forrest Gump, and the view of miles-long highway with Monument Valley in the distance is a photo worthy to be hung on your wall.

Great vlog we are from New Zealand 🇳🇿 currently in the US, would love to get here
Hey there! Yes you should add it to your USA travel list. Thank you so much for joining from New Zealand. I hope to visit there one day!
Just there last week. I took my daughter outside back of the View hotel to see if we could see in the middle of the night. She freaked out because you can barely make out the giant butte next to the hotel. It’s like you can feel its giant presences.
Great video and I live in England and have always wanted to visit Monument Valley so hopefully my wish will come true.
only you can make that happen ralph. don’t make excuses make it happen.
You should!
Enjoyed your video. We visited Monument Valley two months ago. It and the surrounding area are beautiful.
It’s picture perfect at any angle! Thanks for watching Bob!
Your videos are amazing!! I have been to Monument Valley twice. I miss it so much. I also do youtube, but I'm still a beginner. Your video was very helpful. I subscribed to your channel. I look forward to your videos.
Thank you so much Minoro! I’m so happy to have you here in my travel family and I’m happy this video was helpful.
Thanks!
Thank you for watching! Did you see your westerns were filmed here?
Stacy , great channel for sure … just subscribed… love ❤️ from Canada 🇨🇦… can you just be there at the hotel or gift shop area without paying for the entry to the 17 mile loop ?
Hello from England we came over a few years ago but we didn’t get to see Monument valley so thanks for your video it gave us an awesome view of the place maybe one day we may come back.
Hi Robin and welcome! Yes I do hope you get to visit the Southwest on your next trip, and squeeze in this beautiful Navajo land. I plan to visit your country next May and can’t wait!
Thank for you for your reply I do hope you enjoy as much of England as you can there is a quaint village near where I live they made the film Holiday named Shere in Surrey it will be on CZcams anyway enjoy what you can take care.
@@robinstalley1517 The Holiday is one of, if not my MOST, favorite movies! I look forward to seeing as much as I can 😊
@gotravelwithstaci I've been to England twice in my life . I just visited Wales/ England last summer for the 2nd time. I highly recommend you to visit Wales ,too !! Wales/ Italy are my No.1 faves !!
I highly recommend Clipper boats ( Uber boat ) & get Oyster cards ! I highly recommend recommend cream tea at the Ivy's Tower bridge. You can have delicious scones / tea right by the Tower bridge & the view from there of the city with sky scrapers with the Tower bridge is AMAZING !!! You can take lots of memorable ,gorgeous photos there !! I highly recommend Devon & Cotswold, too !!!
I recommend Newport, Wales. There's a little cafe called Cafe at the Ridgeway in Ridgeway ,Newport ,very pretty area & very affordable, very dog friendly, Joe's ice creams bubble gum flavour is so yummy !! They're from Swansea & it's made there ,made in Wales !! St.julian's Inn pub ,Newport is a pub with the most gorgeous view 😍 ,very peaceful. A very laid back holiday spot !! Tenby & Saundersfoot wales are my very favourites !! I am jealous of you going there soon ! I'd love to keep visiting Wales/ England often if I had the money !! Lol Have a safe trip !! 👍👍💜🥁🐉🎤🎶💞
P.S. I highly recommend a very cute budget hotel ' Point A ' in Kensington/ Olympia in London !! Also Mercure hotel in Newport ,Wales. 💜🥁🐉🎤🎶🇬🇧💞
Beautiful scenery travel like 🤝💯🔔👌OK my friend
Yes it is beautiful Hài Vleg! Thank you for watching!
Did anybody get honked at while you were at Forrest Gump point?
Is it permitted to fly drones for footage?
Thank you for sharing your experience! Can I use a sedan in taking the scenic drive? I am contemplating whether I will rent an SUV or sedan on my trip there this coming May. Thanks!
Hi Nerry! We did use a sedan and it did fine...you will just feel the bumps and potholes a lot more. I hope you have a wonderful visit!
@@gotravelwithstaci Thank you!
Hello. I really like your video, but a lot of people that have made videos on Monumental Valley forget to mention the entrance of the park. We heard there's a line to get in because they only have 25 cars in there at a time. Is that true? Other than that, great tips on a place to eat and forest Gump Hill parking situation. Thanks.
Hi Rob! I had made a point to mention any issues we encountered trying to get in, but we ended up not having any trouble getting in to report back. When we visited in April 2022, we didn’t have any lines to wait and and no restrictions to enter the park. Be sure to check out the Navajo website before visiting to note any entrance restrictions changes.
My family's planning to visit there this September ! I might join 'em,too ! I'd love to !! But,I get my ear issues in deserts ! My ears pop & clogged in deserts ! Ao,not sure ,but thanks for this video ! 👍 💜🥁🐉🎤🎶💞
try chewing gum
@gotravelwithstaci I've discovered a method that always works on planes & in deserts !! Chewing gums or drinking hot tea only work sometimes, or shirt time in deserts / planes . On planes, it's never enough ,especially for landing .I had several incidents I felt that my ears were permanently damaged !! But,no more those !! Now I know how to deal with it or even prevent it !!
I recently visited Arizona ( last late September ) & I didn't get any issues at all !! Yay ! Monument Valley & red rocks were AMAZING !!! I love Arizona. It was my 3rd visit there ,but very 1st time in Sedona / Monument Valley ! Incredible experiences !!
Thank you for your reply ! 💜🥁🐉🎤🎶🏜💕💞
I heard they are only letting 25 people drive the loop road at a time, how long did you have for wait before being allowed onto the road?
We didn’t have to wait at all. We went back in April 2022 and knew they had a limit so we expected to have to wait in a line but nope. They were moderately busy that day, too. I’d say to check the Navajo Nation websites before your trip to see if these regulations have been lifted or not. Hope you have a great trip!
@@gotravelwithstaci Hey have you tried to drive the through the 17 mile Loop with a RV? On the website they say it is prohibited but in some articles I read that for small RV it is possible? Or did you see RVs there?
@@nicolasdrensek1080 Hi Nicolas and welcome! Ooh, I'm not sure about taking the RV through the entire thing, especially if it's a larger RV. I mostly worry about the road being too narrow because it's the same road in and out, so you will need to share it with cars coming in/out.
You may want to go to their website and see if you can ask about leaving the RV in the parking lot while you drive the loop?
@@gotravelwithstaci Yes that´s an good idea. Thank you for your answer :)
That taco at 3:00 is on Navajo fry bread rather than a taco shell. It's a staple of local cuisine, very tasty and found just about everywhere in that area. Its only downside is that the bread is deep pan fried in saturated fat. Your arteries will not approve.
hahaha yes a quite filling but still yum
👍
Thank you so much for watching!
mask for what ? for the dust KKKKKKKK
Too much of me me me and not enough valuable info. Tim M. 8/1/2022
Thank you for watching Tim!
Udah🤒🤮😷
Hope you feel better soon.
Mandating mask wearing outdoors is quite ridiculous, don't you think?
The Navajo community was hit very hard during the pandemic, so I understand their continued concern with being cautious with so many tourists visiting. Also, since this is private land, I don’t mind following whatever rules they want to enforce, similar to my visiting someone’s home.
That said, I didn’t experience strict mask enforcement when we were out in open air, like it was enforced when we were indoors, such as their gift shop.
I’m Navajo… and I hate it lol
@@mambah_mango1211 lol I feel ya 😆
