"This movie sucks and I was in it
i was the "henchman" in the black shirt and backwards ball cap with a hellraiser box tattoo, close up when the grenade went off, and I'm about to laugh cause it was so cheesy, but hey it was an easy 225 dollars,but i knew it was a straight to USA network movie when i saw it...but the Germans probably liked it a lot more, it was filmed in new port richey, florida, in basically someones field, the city was so proud that there was a movie being filmed their, that they treated the cast and crew like royalty, and threw them a big party (i.e. free drinks and chicken fingers). even the crew realized what a turd this movie was....one guy just walked off the set, and i had to double for him, look for when the kid falls of the back of the boat and two guys haul him out of the water, they switched us mid scene, because they were to lazy to do a reshoot, and i look NOTHING like the guy i switched with...I'm at least 60 pounds more than him and a half a foot taller...i was the only extra that would get in the water without a fuss, i worked as a plumbers apprentice once...a little water doesn't bother me"

that's so weird, I love Grace Jones, she's such a fun campy actress when she's on Bond films or Pee Wee christmas specials.... but even in these clips its so painful.
She got paid to goof around and got to hang out with a cool big cat. Not bad! But yeah, the movie itself is just bottom-shelf trash in every way. I don't think there is an actor on this planet who could make chicken salad out of the chicken shit she was given to work with.
In case you wonder, movie's title in Czech is Treasure Island.

Allison is great. So refreshing to hear someone doing internet reviews without being crass and malicious.
As a German I can guarantee that we do not take offense when hearing the word "Scheiße" but we are always delighted when we hear a German actor having German lines in English-language movies. :D Which is obviously the case here for Anya Hoffmann who was cast as Sabrina. It's interesting that McCinsey's Island gets this right where expensive Hollywood productions often cast American actors with thick accents, frequently saying lines that are grammatically questionable or simply uncommon in German. If anyone is interested, what she said was: "That is no shit! That is quality merchandise and you are a little, pissy..." :)

I remember there being a Hulk Hogan movie where he has a son who he neglects because of his job as a spy and/or soldier who is tasked to keep a disk safe from generic bad guys, one of which had a metal or robotic foot. Would you guys look into that in the future?

One of the background henchmen extras I could have sworn was actually Zack the Black Power Ranger. Same hair (that kinda top-knot dreadlocks thing he had iirc), I mean I'd believe he'd appear in this, Saban probably shorted him, he needed the extra change.

There's an nWo paid announcement where Hogan is hanging out with Grace Jones and Robert Vaughn on the set of this movie and names them as honorary members of the nWo. It's actually kind of neat because both of them are clearly into the idea of being wrestling bad guys and get all into character for the video. Robert Vaughn does a speech about how WCW must be destroyed. You can see it on one of the spring 1997 Nitros, but I can't remember which one exactly.

Treasure smugglers were a huge problem in the 90s... fortunately it seems like the fever has been eradicated in the decades since, but you never know when it'll come back. It could even return as a full-blown mania if we're not careful.
I wasn't prepared to the the Showster in HD. Also, I feel like treasure map stories were popular at the time. You don't see them anymore.

Here's a little trivia for you... I played the role of Billy in this film, and one of the little tigers gave ma a slight scratch on my forearm while I was holding him and he was squirming around. His handler warned me to keep an eye on the scab because it's common to develop ring worm from tiger scratches. Sure enough, about a week or so later there was a little itchy circle on the spot of the scratch that was gradually getting larger. Easily treated with some over-the-counter anti fungal cream. But anyway... cheers! -Todd
