This is one of those songs where the three guitars come together to make absolute sonic bliss. You'll find from the reunion stuff there's songs where the three of them rip some killer solos, there's awesome melodies (mainly thanks to Janick!), and the songs are just beautiful. This is one of those songs. I can't wait for you to get to the other songs like this on all of the albums. Some epic stuff coming up my guy! This is the stuff that got me into Maiden as this album was the most recent album out when I first discovered them. THIS is also the reason that I think you should watch the live DVD of this tour straight after the album, cause the songs are fresh in your mind. They do play this one live. Keep it up my guy!
That solo is wicked. All 3 guitarists getting their turn to rip it up. This tour was my first (of 10) live maiden show. Amazing experience. I'll always have a soft spot for this album

Yeah this one engages you all the way through. Perfect length for what we were give musically plus 3 chained solos. Is it one of the best songs of all time, no but a very good 7.5/10 for me. Had forgotten it was this good in honesty.
This is actually better live than it is in studio IMO.You should check out the Death on the Road show’s version of this song.Actually would love to see you react to the Whole concert.It’s a great performance
An ok song. The next song Montsegur is a great return to punch-in-the-face Maiden. It’s also another great historical recount, about a fortress (chateau) in France and a siege that took place there in the 1200s. I won’t give any more away Hurm1t, until you hear it, just so you have some context about what Bruce is belting out. 😊🤘

More like a B-Side for Virtual XI. The estruture of the song, resembles a lot things from VXI. I don’t know, No More Lies doesn’t do me much. My Favs from this record are Paschendale, Face in the Sand and Journeyman. Followed by Montsegur, Rainmaker and the title track.
Many will disagree and say that best ones are "dance of death" or "paschendale" but for me the next one is the strongest moment of the album. I hope that "montsegur" will kick Your ass : ) Cheers!

For me this is one of two that I think are best on the album. Yeah, the album cover is bad, but in no way does it effect my opinion of the songs.

A Steve Harris Epic Smith Murray and Gers Solos spot on only the bit I don’t like is that No More Lies get sung to much but it was great live with the crowd singing in with the chorus yes a really highlight of the concert 🎸🎸👍👍
You know Maiden well enough by now that you should start guessing who the songwriter(s) is. Just based on the melodies, it should be easy enough to pick this out as a Steve Harris song. Presumably a song about the Last Supper, but I don't think Harris ever commented on it. Played live on the Death on the Road DVD in front of a great crowd in Dortmund, Germany a few months after the album was released.

This album for me is odd in that it has parts i think sound great all over the place just not all in one song lol, apart from this one. I'm not a fan of the title track either, although i don't think it's bad, just not as good as people make it out to be(but we all hear things differently so...).
Dude, this is the first track on the album where you could feel that they were giving their all. It's a really decent song and the guitar solos. Sounds like Janick first, then Adrian and Dave finishing it up. A good aggressive Iron Maiden song. The theme along the lines of Infinite Dreama a little, but not too similar where it is redundant by any means.

it's very simple to me. When most famous bands start to reach a certain age and have been doing this for just so long, they lose all motivation to really get creative. This is such an obvious mail-in job. Yet another song post early nineties, which is the combination of every crap song they have ever made combined with some kind of weird court jester music. Just awful in my opinion. It's hard to think that the same group of people who wrote the album number of the beast could turn out such garbage late in life. This is just bad. They have essentially made this song like 20 times now. And, it sucks every single time.
I saw them perform this song live. It rocked the entire stadium. 16,000 screaming fans singing along with Bruce. It was nuts and amazing.

One of the iconic song of dance of death. Pretty good, maybe a little ripetitive on the chorus. But still a great song.
