There’s also the fact that he counter-punches a lot and the essence of a counter-punch is to use the momentum of the person moving in to sort of synergize with your own power. He already punches hard but what if it’s twice as hard and even faster because of that force created by the movement of the person into his fist? That’s real timing, too.
Not the momentum perse but counter punching is countering a punch with any type of move… the reason he cracks so hard is first long arms, good mass, great left hand, good technique and good boxing (ireland has a good young program because of the olympics and conor used to train with them)
He reflexes are/ were phenomenal. He does crack really hard too tho. He wasn't counter punching when he kod poirier or dropped Diaz three times. As much as he's done, I feel he could've exploited his legacy after the Alvarez fight

for everyone thinking they hit harder than Connor..please keep in mind: 1. the machine you hit, is different from the machiine he hit...each machine is calibrated differently 2. the lever mechanism may be stronger on one machine from the next, thus others are weaker 3. the pressure sensors will be more sensitive or less. 4. normal people punch forward, however on these machine if you hit at a more UPWARD angle, watch your numbers soar. When i was in the military Ii'd go out with friends who only wanted me to set the new record for whichever machine they found. My numbers ranged from 860-1350...and i can assure you i am NOT freggin Ivan Drago. The point I'm making here is, if you know the MACHINES, you can easily hit "hard".
