My condolences to Rickey Smiley and his family. Everything he said about fentanyl killing our kids is true. Fentanyl is the #1 killer of adults age 18-45. I lost my son in 2018 to fentanyl poisoning. It still seems like yesterday that I got the dreadful phone call to get to the hospital immediately. He had already passed when I got there. I never got to say goodbye. Losing a child is the most traumatic experience a parent can go through. It’s a forever nightmare that you cannot awake from. The heartache and sadness never goes away you just learn to live with it. Whoever said “time heals all wounds” never lost a child. I LOVE YOU Mario Dakota Rivera…forever 26💔😢😢

My 26 year old daughter died on November 16 from complications of diabetes, and I went back to work a few weeks later to keep from drowning in grief. We lived alone, together, now it’s just me. The Most High IS so GOOD, even when you’re world is falling apart.❤

I agree with Ricky! I don't agree with EVERYTHING our foreparents did but these kids need some of that old school parenting. These kids are VERY entitled these days.

This is so sad. It brings back memories about my brother. 20 years ago, he died of an overdose. Bad drugs. It's not a game. "Say not to drugs!" Please. My mother drilled that in us, but it's up to us to listen to our parents. It takes a wise man to learn from someone else's mistake.

@@luckysworld18 yes! I was following him leading up to the home going. He was dismissing his grief because other people have lost their children too. He even went to a shelter to help serve because people have it bad. It seemed like he was avoiding it, and then he broke down on his live and his son had to come and console him. I think some people try to deflect in order to not have to grieve but that seems unhealthy. You must feel what you feel in order to get to your healing.

I so sorry Ricky I losed my son a year in half ago he was living in Atlanta a car hit him and his children head on,he was headed to a football game of his boys ,that was the worse day of my life I have been trying to keep his legacy alive .losing a child can be a challenge every day I'll pray for you and please someone keep me in there prayer

I tip my hat off to Rickey Smiley. I lost my mom to an overdose as well and literally did not grieve for at least 2yrs. Just stayed on autopilot. So I commend him. Everyone grieves differently but we must grieve.

Young people these days go through a lot. I know some older folks won’t agree but they do. Trust. Unresolved trauma, stress, maybe even an underlying mental illness can lead to drug addiction. Fentanyl is no joke 🙏🏾

As a parent dealing with the addiction of my only child, I felt everything Ricky said, in my SOUL- This disease destroys families and brings death right along with it. Talk to the people you love and those you know about drugs and how easy addiction can take over your life!! Let them know to PAY ATTENTION. Misery does love company and the devil comes in all shapes and sizes... As I told my child, "I will always pray for you... Please keep praying for yourself." #itsbadouthere

My son was killed on Jan 18/2022 at 19 years old. 3 days later the Lord gave me supernatural strength, comfort, and peace that awed my family, friend, congregation, and those who know me and I prayed to the Lord to give Rickey and his family the same. Losing a family member is hard, losing a child is unexplainable. But God! May the Lord continue to keep this family and anyone else suffering grieve and loss 🙏❤
