When the official images from BMW came out, i was heartbroken because i felt like it didnt look like a 5 Series. But now, I AM DANGEROUSLY IN LOVE with it.😂
Glad you like it! We need more like you =)
Same
appreciate all the instruction, very helpful
Anytime!
Nice walkthrough - thanks
Glad it was helpful!
Great video. Thank you
Glad you liked it!
I have watched thousands of reviews on cars. This is by far the most thorough and helpful. I will be purchasing my 2025
M60 I was on the fence before this video but with all the features that you just highlighted, it confirms that it’s worth the $96,000 price tag
Glad it helped you!!
Awesome in depth review. The piano black exterior already has swirls 2:02
I can see that now that you've mentioned it. Agreed you can see it when you get really close. Tbh I did not notice it when I was recording.
Omg thanks so much. I learned so much with u. I just took delivery of my M60 and been lost bc I had to leave soon on pick up day. Great work man thanks again for this video 🙏🏼🙏🏼👏🏻👏🏻
Great to hear! Congrats!!
Too good explanation 👌🏻👌🏻
Thanks a lot 😊
great video, learned some new things so thanks, I do have one last thing remaining to crack which is ‘Auto Start/Stop’ is there any away to disable it or control it, other than switching to sport mode?
Thanks for watching. Unfortunately, not many ways to get around that. Some gas powered vehicles have S transmission mode which can also defeat it but that's going to be it.
Good review. BMW will hire you.
That would be cool!
Getting mine in 3-4 months, as I ordered it thanks for the guide anyways
Congrats! Happy to help.
Woohoo, delivery of my m60 next week
Thanks for the video. I subscribed directly to your channel. Don’t know if you work for BMW but if not send your CV 😅
Thanks for the sub! Haha, I don't exactly, but the channel keeps me busy enough!
Nice review!
Thanks!!
@@BeamerView would love to see your review of the new 540i once it becomes available. Thanks for your work
Best overview on CZcams
thank you!
surprised you didn't explain how to open the doors and how cool that is
Correct me if I'm wrong but only the 7 series has the automatic door option.
Super helpful. thank you! I am getting my car delivered in several days. No one will be assisting me in setting it up. Much of what I need is here but I'm wondering if you have a video specifically for suggested first setups? Also, how does the operating system get updated with 9.0 when it comes out?
Glad it was helpful!
This video should give the gist of the setups - czcams.com/video/1LkId3MOu-U/video.html
There are other videos on the channel that go through the app etc.
I don't think the vehicle with 8.5 will be getting idrive 9. iDrive 9 is only for the new X1s and the X2s at the moment, and it's basically the same thing as idrive 8.5 anyway.
what size of the rims did you pick on your custom build?
Bro your videos are very informative, I watched some. However, can you check in the settings for the presence of the Russian language in ID 8.5? I know that ID 8 has it, but I'm interested in ID 8.5. Thanks in advance)
I read some where that it should, iDrive 8 is very similar to 8.5 so I would imagine it should.
Can the tivoli coloured strips be turned off? Passenger seat memory position I and II in place? How efficient is the i5 preheat mode?
The ambient lighting can be turned off, there is a on/off switch in the menu.
Yes both the 1 and 2 positions are located on the door which you can set.
Personally haven't tried the pre-heat mode for the i5, but for all the other BMWs it's never been an issue so I'm sure it's about what you would expect. It does do a more efficient job when the vehicle is plugged in.
Is there any benefits to the M60 grille vs the regular i5 grille? I like the interior and speed of the M60 but definitely would swap the grille for the non sport version.
No real benefits I would say.
@@BeamerView Perfect!
Does the ICE model also have the same ambient lighting Bar?..I heard it’s different with just streaks running across the dash
Yeah the ice bar is much worse for some reason. But the hybrid version get the cool bar (530e, 550e) so there is that
Correct.
My dad just got one and I love cars so he surprised me with it and I thought it was gonna be ugly but if you get it in all black then it’s nice but it he got the M package but the alcantara is so nice
Good pick, I agree, all my cars were always black lol Congrats to your dad.
🔥🔥🔥
Thanks!!
Hi, could you guide me on how to adjust the reversing camera? It tilts downwards excessively, and I'm unable to set it to a preferred angle that stays fixed when the car is put in reverse.
Thanks
There isn't much adjustment you can do with it unfortunately. One of the only ways i've seen this be able to adjust is when your in the menu that shows the birds eye view of the car "parking assistance button" You should see 3 gray cameras on the birds eye view side, if you select the camera with an A on it, it'll auto adjust your cameras depending on which way your wheel is turning etc. Other than that I would check in settings but I do not believe there is another way.
Thank you for responding and providing the information. It seems a bit unusual because in other cars, you can adjust the reverse camera.
I just got a 2024 4 series which came with Idrive 8... will there be an update for my car to get 8.5 or 9, or am I stuck with the stock 8?
Same i have a 2023 330e will it get idrive 8.5???
4 Series will not be getting the update to 8.5 unfortunately. Only the new X1 and X2 will have idrive 9 at the moment.
@BeamerView that's crazy, it's nothing for them to send an update , it's software, is it not?
@@jeromecampbell1008 No, it's not that easy, the 4 series didn't come with the necessary hardware to allow an upgrade to 8.5 or whatever. You're stuck on idrive8. Pretty cool,, eh?
Love the Car 🚗
Same!
Could you provide link to key covers
amzn.to/4799sXQ Here you go!
Please describe the ride quality on these 21 wheels. Would you recommend to go with 19th (in my opinion 19 wheels do not look right on this G60) or 21 with possible sacrificing on ride quality?
Ride quality felt fine to me, knowing that it's a m60 version, I would also expect it to be more on the tigher sporty side of things, but it wasn't anything unbearable. I would opt in for the 21s but I would also make sure you have a wheel and tire protection package since anything 19 inch and above are prone to bent rims from pot holes.
@@BeamerView thank you for the prompt reply
I drive a 520d X-D 190hp G30 with 245/35 20 (front) and 275/30 20 (rear), both RunFlat. The better driving performances do not compensate the extra noise, stiffness and limited steering radius.
On the G60 I’d would either recommend the 245/40 20 (front) and 275/35 20 (rear) combo or the 245/45 19 (front) and 275/40 19 (rear).
I foolishly stepped away from the iX I had for the past year to try to save money, and got a Genesis GV60. And when I drive that more than 30 minutes (guess how long my test drive was), it kills my back and legs. I talked to the BMW dealership, and they had a discounted iX. So I went in to check it out and it was what I remembered from before I ditched my last one so I was ready to take it, but then saw they had a demo unit i5 available. So I asked "Hey while I'm here, can I see how I fit in this (I'm a wide guy working on losing weight) and see how it drives? They were like "Sure!"
It drove amazingly. I think it looked amazing. So I asked them if I could take the demo model home the next day and they, again, said sure.
And, well, the rest was history. I actually liked the design from when I first saw it, but figured I wouldn't be able to fit comfortably in it but was surprised when I did. And now I'm bringing home a Brooklyn Grey i5 M60 tomorrow afternoon. Pretty excited!
Congrats on both of them. Glad the comfort was much better compared to the Genesis. Not worth losing your back over. It's true what they say, once you go BMW, you don't go back =)
@@BeamerView Yeah, I'm learning that one now, haha.
Ordered mine as well. About 3 months I was told.
Good call! Hope it comes sooner than expected, the wait is a killer.
No 1 I am not touching an electric and no 2 some of us actually use all the mirrors for driving so the car changing lanes just because I checked my blind spot will annoy me.
It's a function you can disable, I do agree as well I wouldn't rely on it much.
What color is the blue one?
Phytonic Blue ! www.bmwofsudbury.com/new/BMW/2024-BMW-i5-sudbury-ma-518ce18f0a0e0a906c8422566289ebf5.htm
Are you not able to temporarily turn off the auto stop start function? that’s trash I hate that function
Unfortunately not, the only way possible now with the new cars would be to go into sport mode.
What’s the deal with the flat bottom steering wheel? Not Evan the 3 series m3 gets a flat bottom steering wheel??!
Not exactly, sure, it does make it a little bit difficult to steer with it, especially if you're the type to drive with one hand. It also does give you more leg space. I'd prefer it to be just a regular wheel though.
I'm glad I have '21 550i.
Good choice.
I do believe BMW is shooting themselves in the foot. Glad I also bought a '23 X5 50i last year and my daughter has ordered a x5 60.@@BeamerView
0 to 60mph in 3.6 sec. but no crash safety over 40mph? Why no rear frontal airbags?
I'm sure it has some sort of sufficient safety, the newer these vehicles get the more safe they are built along the way.
@@BeamerView No tangible information as to how safety is improved at all. So much focus on design and performance whereas the more erudite issues seem evanescent! Option 302 from Mercedes offers rear frontal airbags which would save thousand of lives, not least children! I´m no supporter of Mercedes but rear safety has not improved since the 1960s! Time for better education and for people to grow up!
i still dont like the side fender and rear bumper ... except from that, the g60 is too high and too long ...
I also personally am not a fan of the new 5 series. It seems a little too bulky for my taste.
Can’t believe that with that spec it doesn’t have rear sun protection glass
True, the blinds will have to do for now.
@@BeamerView yes but it’s more for the premium look
Why? Floor Mats are still an accessory < :)
@@craighermle7727 that’s an even bigger shock. Most new cars I’ve gotten in the last number of years all came starboard with floor mats
Actually the summer mats do come starndard. I stand corrected.
What colour is this car
Carbon black!
All o the f U.S. delivered BMWs still use CCS. They were claiming that they were staying with CCS, but I guess BMW decided that perhaps that wasn't the best decision they made.
Right on!
@@BeamerView Are the 24s being currently delivered with the NACS adapter, or it that 2025 thing?
@@craighermle7727 Currently not, it may most likely be a separate purchase, but even if you do get the adapter, we still have to wait for tesla to allow access to charging. This will be early 2025.
@@BeamerView I'm glad that BMW decided to change or at least expand their charging networks. I was considering an I4, but I wasn't too fond of CCS.. I bought a M440 ixdrive GC instead. Go figure. Perhaps not the brightest decision I made
To the idiot that said this car looks cheap and the epitome of luxury performance and top end then it’s all for under six figures to get all this in a car from horsepower to leather to tack you have to look to Audi Porsche and AMG for 120 to 130,000 this is the opposite of looking cheap
It's shame that you can't get natural leather
Agreed, not too much of a fan of the vegan leather.
i love the tech and all but the interior is not it.. its just ugly plastic everywhere. window control buttons feel like they should be in a corolla. i test-drove one , door tops and dashboard you cant even spec to have a leather/leatherette stitched, same with the steering wheel airbag plastic cover and the deal breaker was no comfort access / ambient lighting for the rear door at all. the new e class is just gorgeous. i really wish BMW is not pulling this cost cutting cheap plastic crap in the name of electric cars.
Funny how 99% of the video are close-up shots. Is it because the car's body is awful ?! Too square and boxy, it sits too high on the road, and it's a**se is too big and fat. There's no elegance or sportiness. The latest Merc looks much better. And this is coming from a BMW fan.
I do like the last generation 5 series better since it was more sleek. This one does seem a bit boxy. I do think the new m5 will look amazing though.
They made it so ugly. On the bright side the previous gen will be on sale
Yes I already see the previous gen going off the lot fast since this one came out. It does look more bulky compared to the last gen. I personally liked the look of the last gen better since it was more sleek and simple/timeless design.
It looks so cheap
Haha I doubt you've seen it in the metal. I have. Looks nothing like you just said.
Feels nice on the inside, but I do feel the overall car is a bit too bulky for my taste.
I bet it can properly spell cheap

Solid 62k car for the 24’ base..Same money could be had for 23’ 540 with less than 10k miles , or a lightly used 21’-23’ under 20k miles m550i for same money imo
Guy doesn't even realize he's reviewing i5 not a 5...
Same car basically.
I love it and I’m a huge mbz man. That trunk center latch sticking out like that is dangerous. I wonder how it passed inspection
It can be, the hood is self holding so that should keep things safe, just don't jump =)
