    Great video. I bought my Eclipse about a year ago. At the time there very few CZcams vids besides Pete Thorn's. The pedal sounded great to me then and still does today. It's a mainstay on one of my boards. I use the blue channel for crunch and the red channel for high gain lead. It's exactly what I wanted. Thanks, Dan

    Very tasteful playing as usual. Great demo of what this baby can do. Very musical. Shawn is a monster player.

    Best review of the Suhr Eclipse so far!!! Great pedal and really great review!!!

    Killer demo Shawn! I got my Eclipse last week. Not cheap, but a fantastic pedal. UPDATE: the honeymoon weeks are over, yet this pedals keeps amazing me. It's got many good sounds from low to high gain. It's very responsive (ok not with the gain maxed out, keep it on 2.00 o'clock for highgain) and it operates dead silent. You will love the smooth, clickless buttons. It also stacks nice with other pedals. Highly recommended (and I am not John Suhr or one of his employées or endorsers!).

      Most reviewers say it doesn’t do lower gain good. But this video sounds pretty good dialed down.

      @@off-roadmax4707 Let's say it's a medium to high gain pedal. For low gain there are other pedals.

    I'd love to see you do an in depth demo of that Suhr Bella that's always looking at me.

    Great demo - one thing that would be helpful to get an idea of the versatility of pedals you demo is to demonstrate how they work as a clean boost, by setting the gain very low and bumping the volume so that the pedal is boosting the volume by 10-20%. This helps get a sense of how the pedal clips and sounds in that scenario. Keep up the good work

    • @Sperzel
      @Sperzel Před 5 lety

      For what it's worth, I think the Eclipse sounds best when run this way. Gain down low with volume well above unity. Makes it more dynamic and responsive to the volume control

    Love the config, the two channels you can toggle between but I suspect even with the gain down it's a little gainy for me for a lot of stuff. I'd love to see Suhr do the same configuration but rather than an Overdrive/Distortion have a Boost/Overdrive, something that goes more from cleaner to mid OD gain ranges. Maybe they'll do another pedal in the series because the control set and voice knob etc are really cool.

    Two questions:
    1. If you had to pick only one guitar, which would you pick?
    2. If you had to pick only one overdrive pedal, which would you pick?
    Cheers! :)

    Hello, I mainly play classic blues and rock ( Floyd’s, ZZ Top, all 70 rocks ...) in a Fender deluxe reverb 65 and look for a warm, smooth , versatile dual OD pedal to play all I want ! Which one does it the best for you ? Suhr ? JHS sweat tea ? Jam double dreamer pedals ? Another idea ...Thanks a lot for your answer and help, kind regards from France

    • @ShawnTubbs
      @ShawnTubbs  Před 4 lety

      The Eclipse is great but keep in mind, it's the same on both sides of the pedal. The JHS Sweet Tea might be a better fit if you want to cover more ground.

  • @adamcoe

    Gorgeous sounding pedal but it'd be ace if you could run one channel into the other.

    • @ShawnTubbs
      @ShawnTubbs  Před rokem +1

      It's not the same at all. That being said, go with what is best for you. The Eclipse is a great-sounding
      OD/Dist.

  • @kernelspy
    @kernelspy Před 6 lety

    Nice sound! Can you switch between the order of EFX? i.e. OD > Distortion or Distortion > OD? Which is better, this or the Visual Sound Jecky and Hyde V3?

    • @ShawnTubbs
      @ShawnTubbs  Před 6 lety +1

      Then 2 channels of the Eclipse are the same and are independent of each other. The VS JH V3 is an excellent pedal and does have two different channels so it would technically be more versatile.

    Hi Shawn, great review! Could you please tell how does it sound as a preamp with IRs? Thanks a lot

    • @ShawnTubbs
      @ShawnTubbs  Před 4 lety +1

      Thanks so much! I haven't tried the Eclipse as a direct preamp. I would think that with the right power amp modeling, it would sound good.

    • @blindtightropewalker
      @blindtightropewalker Před 4 lety

      Shawn Tubbs Thanks a lot for your answer! D’you think that an IR wouldn’t be enough?
      I’d like to pair it with a Line6 HX Effects which has an IR loader, but now power amp modeling.

    • @ShawnTubbs
      @ShawnTubbs  Před 4 lety

      @@blindtightropewalker I think it would be missing something without a power amp model in my opinion.

    • @blindtightropewalker
      @blindtightropewalker Před 4 lety

      Shawn Tubbs Thanks a lot, truly appreciated! In your experience, is there a dual channel analog device that already has poweramp emulation?
      What about the Revival Drive, Synergy, Bluguitar, Victory V4 etc for example?
