As a sheep lover, it's a real blessing for you to have these two beautiful ladies as good friends. It makes me pine for the life of a farmer in the rural countryside of the UK, taking care of sheep and raising them for wool, giving them plenty of love and affection, as you do for Miss Emma and Lola. May they have good, long, healthy and happy lives.
I'm an American married to a lovely boy from Manchester, and whenever we visit family, we always make time to visit the Lakes and go hiking in the fells. I love seeing the Herdwick sheep in all their majesty, and have nothing but respect for the farmers who ensure their good health and sheepy happiness! I've had the privilege of knitting their wool, and it's such honest, hardy wool, isn't it? Marvelous stuff. Thanks for posting this. Perhaps we'll come and visit the next time we're in the Lakes!
Hi Kay, no, the sheep in this video have marked themselves out as being curious and trusting in people. So they are kept in their own special flock and will never have this trust broken by being sent to slaughter. We have, on average 1000 sheep on the farm. Very few of them ever act like the ones in this video! Even though they are all treated in the same way. These guys just genuinely enjoy people‘s company and seek it out x
And if there's a heaven, it most assuredly includes Emma, her beautiful fleece, and her lovely smiling face that enjoys a wonderful cuddle. 😀
Yes, she's another friendly peaceful sheep. Sheep are such wonderful animals that should be pets more.
