    I own a lawn care and landscaping company and want to get into hardscaping. I just discovered you today and have already binged a few hours of your videos. It’s very helpful and it feels like I’m with you learning hands on. Most other youtubers just teach you the basics or just have the camera up and have it on a time lapse whereas you teach us all the details and techniques and the small little things that will help a lot

      That's awesome, I appreciate the feedback! That was my main goal when starting the channel, to help others who really want to learn the trade. I was there myself years ago... Spent a lot of time looking on CZcams to learn hardscaping and there was not much to offer... So I'm glad to hear from people like you that the videos are helpful. God bless and good luck in your future! ✌

    The tip at 9:00 about the small sliver cuts and where you locate the small pieces is sooo good. Esp for a 100% professional finish. I hate small cuts. Esp on wall caps. I see a 1 inch piece of cap on a wall and lose my mind...lol Make two bigger pieces and lose them in the wall vs a cut that looks like bad planning. Good stuff brother!

    Love the videos. This is about the same shape patio I will be going with. Thanks for all the details. I went to my supplier over the weekend and they also said the paver manufacturer no longer recommends using stone dust or sand above the base stone/below the pavers. They also recommend using the chip stone. Interestingly, they said to use process gravel instead of clear 3/4" trap rock as the artificial base. Thanks again!

    Given a choice, would you prefer to vibrate/tamp the sand in while the concreate was wet (

    • @TheChristianHardscaper
      @TheChristianHardscaper  Před 4 měsíci +1

      I think the best way is while the concrete is wet so you can fix movement right away. But I do it after the concrete sets quite often because the timing just doesn't always work out... So either way is good, but if the timing works, while it is wet is the best way.

    Hi Kyle and Benny!
    Thanks to your amazing videos I am almost done my home patio. I have followed your instructions to the T and my family and friends are jealous. I have 550 sq ft of Genest Grand Kathadin color is meadow. My question is will all these white spots disappear from the top of the pavers? The manufacture date was 8/2022 so they have been sitting wrapped for almost a year. Not every layer has white spots but they are not very attractive. Anyways when this beast of a patio is done ( 21 X 26) I will drink to you and Benny as I enjoy my new patio. Thanks again! You guys are awesome.

    • @TheChristianHardscaper
      @TheChristianHardscaper  Před 11 měsíci

      That is awesome man, thank you for the great comment and I'm glad my videos helped! And yes, the white spots should go away after it weathers. The sun and rain should slowly make those disappear over time if it is what I think it is. Most times they come when sitting on a pallet for a long time. But I would like to see a picture or 2 so I can be sure... Could you send me a couple to my email? (TheChristianHardscaper@gmail.com)

    Question: when I tamp the pavers and poly sand will it crack/cause issues with the concrete edge restraint?
    Thanks

    • @TheChristianHardscaper
      @TheChristianHardscaper  Před 11 měsíci

      No problem at all, glad the videos have been helpful! Tamping the edges to hard when poly sanding can crack the concrete, that is one of the reasons why we lift the border pavers up and hammer them into place before we concrete. Then you can tamp the edges softly just to settle the sand into the joints.

    I am looking to do an open graded base for around 700sq ft pavers (walkway/patio + seperate patio out back). The only options I have are 3/4 washed native and 3/4 trap rock. Any recommendation on which would be better? The washed native is cheaper for me but doesn't look as jagged as the trap rock. In any case no-one around here has heard of this method and they all want to sell me 3/4 process "A" with sand on top. I keep trying to tell them this is not the same. Anyways appreciate your videos, have learned a lot from them. I'm not too far away from you either in Northwest CT.

    • @TheChristianHardscaper
      @TheChristianHardscaper  Před 11 měsíci

      That's awesome! And the 3/4 trap rock is most likely (granite) stone and the native is probably the crushed blue / grey stone that is common in Connecticut I assume. I would recommend the trap rock. And I hear from quite a few people on here about the fact that most suppliers do not know this method, very sad in my opinion because they should know about it. Good luck with your project and do not listen to them about processed gravel / sand, the open grade base will not fail you. ✌

    • @TheChristianHardscaper

      If it is just low voltage wire, you can just bury in you base material or the soil around the edges. I think that is what you mean...

    Hi there, I’m doing my walkway and made wet cuts with the saw I rented today. 2 problems the sand washes out from the wet saw and the slurry gets on the pavers, any tips to wash off the pavers? You mentioned poly sand will stain the pavers if you leave stuff on top. Thanks!

    • @cristianlopez-mj9pn
      @cristianlopez-mj9pn Před rokem

      Id wash it down and scrub it or pressure wash and let it dry well then when it dry it spread poly sand and compact with plate compactor then add more blow the excess and water down

    • @cristianlopez-mj9pn
      @cristianlopez-mj9pn Před rokem

      Have a extra rag sometimes some poly washes off and stains the paver and to prevent pressure washing have a helper scrub it down before poly sand dries up

    • @RiverValleyLandscaping
      @RiverValleyLandscaping Před rokem

      I try to keep the slurry washed off the pavers as I go because of this reason. After you do the poly sand just give it a month and hit it with a cleaner. Paver wash or efflorescence cleaner from srw products should get the pavers back to how they originally looked. Then seal the next day
