      You prolly dont care but if you are stoned like me during the covid times you can stream pretty much all the latest series on instaflixxer. I've been binge watching with my gf recently =)

    When I did my upgrade I also replace the clutch/gear (15T pinion) assembly. In the directions it states using a piece of regular copy paper between the gear teeth for spacing. Cut a small piece the width of the gears, with your thumb on the spur gear, rotate and draw the piece of paper between the two gears, tighten the motor mount screw, and back off on the spur to remove the piece of paper.

      I normally use the paper method but my fingers are way too small to get the paper in there!

    Great Video! The rally is so much fun, I wish there where more bodies, and upgrades for it.

    I'd like to see a 2s 5a lipo in there for racing on a tight dirt track.

    Very cool. This car seems like it’s a slash chassis. We have a easy tip video on gear meshing. It’s to bad Traxxas doesn’t just offer a brushless model. Thanks for sharing my friend. 👍😁

    I would keep my brushed system for a Tamiya build like a lunchbox or Wild Willy and then buy a Hobbywing system for $60 or an OCDAY system for $35

    Hi buddy I'm very new to RC and find your channel very informative. That being said wen changing to brushless on my Traxxas rally should I change my spur gears? I am going after having fun I don't race I just want to do Donut's and slide around. Any advice or recommendations are welcome thanks for your time

    • @DriftomaniacsRC
      @DriftomaniacsRC  Před 4 lety

      Hi now traxxas recommend in the manual if you go brushless switch from 48p gears to 32p gears, otherwise the extra power may eat the gears! Highly recommend fitting the sway bars to this kit as they improve the handling a lot. Keep the gearing low as lots of torque if good for what you want! Hope that helps

  • @ChUcK2001
    @ChUcK2001 Před 5 lety

    Not supposed to change the pinion for a 32pitch one ? It's written in the manuel to ditch the 48P for 32P if brushless...

    • @DriftomaniacsRC
      @DriftomaniacsRC  Před 5 lety

      Funnily enough I have 2 mins ago just fitted a 32P centre diff and pinion. I didn't know it was in the manual though! Thanks for the info.

    Does that “power up” program still apply today, or have they done away with it?

    • @kirkc9593
      @kirkc9593 Před 3 lety

      My local hobby shop is like the other one you mentioned where they didn’t say anything to the customer about it. My local shop owner is very greedy and will never ever recommend anything that will lose him money. He’s even tried to recommend going routes that I know for sure would mess up my rc. (Such as gearing tips etc.)

  • @someguywithachannel7590

  • @t.aivers9489

    What’s the exactly setup here? I do have the stock setup. Changed the esc/motor and put on a 18t pinion. What kind of spur do I need? At the moment I use the stock one (83 is it?).
    What about the driveshaft? Need to be changed?
    In other words; what do I need to buy to get it perfect?

    • @DriftomaniacsRC
      @DriftomaniacsRC  Před 5 lety

      Hi Tom I don't have this car anymore, sold it and regretted it ever since on all of the videos where I did a mod I listed it in the video, so all the mods are out there just not in one place! Sorry!

    • @t.aivers9489
      @t.aivers9489 Před 5 lety

      Driftomaniacs
      The deal is that you tried several options and the motor got overheated before you changed to velenion.
      But as far as I can see you got the stock spur in it, and use a 18t pinion with the velenion motor.
      In the first movie you tried 18t but it didn’t fit with the 73 spur, so I believe that’s it.
      If you suddenly remember what the setup is, plz let me know
