  • Patricia Janečková and Karolína Levková sing “Sokolove oči” at Stonavská Barborka 2015.
Stonavská Barborka is a competition for small vocal and vocal-instrumental chamber ensembles performing classical and traditional music, held annually in Stonava, Czech Republic. In 2015 the first prize in the category of secondary and higher art school duos was awarded to Patricia Janečková and Karolína Levková, students of the Janáček Conservatory in Ostrava. The girls featured „Five songs from various parts of the world“, arranged for two sopranos and piano by their pedagogue Irena Szurmanová, who also accompanied them on piano. Ms Szurmanová for her part won prizes for outstanding piano accompaniment and for the composer´s contribution.
Patricia and Karolína's beautiful performance has already been featured in YT by an indefatigable promoter of Patricia's talent, Amor Omnia Vincit. This page however seems to be now nonexistent, so I present four available songs in my channel. My clips are excerpts from footage of the ceremonial final concert of the 2015 competition that used to be available from the Stonavská Barborka YT channel, but now has gone offline. I believe that in making such use of a removed material, I stay within the range of the “fair use” of intellectual property. I do not monetize these videos.
The remaining songs performed by the duo during the concert:
“Engenho novo” • Patricia Janečková, Ka...
“At the river” • Patricia Janečková, Ka...
“Vdol po Pitěrskoj” • Patricia Janečková, Ka...

† _With the deepest sadness I inform the guests of this channel that dear Patricia passed away on October 1, 2023 at age 25, defeated by a merciless disease. It's so hard to accept that we've lost an artist so young, so gifted, so charming. May She rest in peace. Her artistic legacy, a modest part of which is presented in this channel, will be remembered forever._

What an incredible voice Patricia had in this performance. And she must have been only 16 or 17 years old.

It was December 2015, so Pat'ka was 17 at the moment.
I like this performance very much. Patricia and Karolina were a paragon of teen charm there. Today they still cooperate: both are members of the team of the National Moravian-Silesian Theatre in Ostrava and sing, among others, in _Bartered Bride_ and _West Side Story._

I absolutely love this the more I listen to it!…..I also profoundly miss Patrica…still can’t quite believe it! This piece makes me think that Kate Bush would approve…as this piece takes that cryptic avant-garde/ absurdist road to a totally charming destination.

Не скажу, что произведение мне понятно. К счастью понятно название: "Очи сокола".
Понятно поведение актрис в рамках изображения особенностей зрения птицы.
    На русском есть текст ?

      It's a Czech song.

    _Sokolove oči, jestřabove peři;_
: _každa panna blazen, co pacholkům věři._ :
    _Pacholkovi věřić jako zlemu hadu,_
: _on ma pod jazykem devateru zradu._ :
_Pacholek má v sobě tolik falešnosti,_
: _jak v ječmenném snopě bývá mnoho osti._ :
_Pacholek je lživy jako pes prašivy,_
: _on děvuchu svede jak muchu na medě._ :
I'm not quite sure about correctness of this text. Should any native Czech reader find any misspelling (or other error), please let me know. TiA!

The song is in silesian dialect, I guess, so it is not easy to understand all even for me as a native Czech (from Prague, however). Respect to you for this effort. Basically you caught all right - if not completely right.
Only in formal Czech language sometimes there should be long wovel (with long pronounciation)...e.g. í (i:) instead of i, á (a:) instead of a. But in Silesia they sometimes pronouce shortly...for which they are sometimes referred as short beaks :)
So, in formal language it should be like this:
      Sokolové oči, jestřábové peří
každá panna blázen, co pacholkům věří.
      Pacholkovi věřit jako zlému hadu,
on má pod jazykem devateru zradu.
Pacholek má v sobě tolik falešnosti,
jak v ječmenném snopě bývá mnoho ostí.
Pacholek je lživý jako pes prašivý,
on děvuchu svede jak muchu na medě.
