      Probably gonna wait a while. High speed camera lenses aren't cheap. Ultimately, yes, the prices will go down over time -- but it will take years. Personally I wanted to enjoy having a sim for those years instead of waiting, so the price is well worth it.

      It doesn't make sense to me how a Rapsodo MLM 2 Pro or a Garmin R10 is in the $500-700 range but these units are $3,000+ . I don't believe there is thousands of dollars more worth of technology in them.

      @@bassmasta9117have you used or owned a premium launch monitor? I’ve owned the Rapsodo MLM2Pro, used Garmin, Mevo+, and SkyTrac. Now I own and use the Foresight GC3. The GC3 with ball and club data and its hands down more accurate and zero effort to set up.
      The budget friendly options are great but come with some rather large trade offs. Firstly, they are extremely sensitive to their environment. Secondly, can be annoying for anyone that doesn’t have a permanent setup. Lastly, most budget options can’t do indoor and outdoor well/accurately.
      There’s a reason pros aren’t walking around with a budget friendly gold simulator or why club fitters don’t use them.
      With that being said, an expensive option may not be right for a lot of folks and that’s okay. I’d rather have the most accurate and seamless option in my budget that’s built for game improvement first verses entertainment or casual users.

    Today they added REFINE to the "pro" package - that's the one you need to buy to get the 3rd party connector to run GSPro, for example. So unless you are only gonna do range work, that's some real value added. I downloaded and will try it out tomorrow. Unfortunately, for 4:3 screens, it only will run at 1024x768 which is a bummer. GSPro runs at whatever resolution (so for 4:3, I'm running 1080x1440). Anyhoo, lots of cool stuff to check out. I have the standard Eye Mini.

      Most do. Mevo+ would be the almost lone exception, though you’ll still likely need a subscription to a third party to get the courses to play. Their Limited Edition comes with a lifetime subscription to E6 with some courses, but there is a higher upfront cost too.

    • @andrewbock1575
      @andrewbock1575 Před 23 dny

      You can fully use the unit for free with the view software. To get access to gspro you only need the $200/year subscription, lets be real, cancel one streaming service you dont use and there's your 200 bucks for the year lol. Also the em/eml, imo, is a considerable step above the mevo+. Not cost-wise, but if you're concerned about accuracy and not having no-reads frequently throughout your round. I have used both the eye mini and the mevo+ extensively for over a year each, and I would pay $2750 + $200/year over a mevo+ and pro package a hundred times over. Lastly I have never had any desire to take my eye mini to the range, I mean, why pay for a bucket of balls when I have all the free balls I could want to hit in my garage with all the data provided?

They likely won't be under 1k for a retail device any time soon. There is at least one active potentially open source project I am aware of that claims $300 worth of parts, but he currently hasn't done a beta release and has filed for patents to "keep his options open".
