- It's been a two-year hiatus, but Pat and Allie are back at it again, this time by embarking on a near-death experience in Costa Rica. Arenal's eruption from 1968 to 2010 is the tenth longest duration volcanic eruption on Earth since 1750, so not many people are allowed to hike it. But they found a dude who could, and documented their entire journey to the top on a GoPro that has never been the same since.

What a smart thing to do to post your video.
Your guide has been probably exposed to being fined or having his guide license suspended. Plus, there are reasons why climbing Arenal is banned. It is both because of nature conservation, as well as the high number of rescue missions that CR rescuers had to organise in the past. Yes, congratulations, you made it. But was showing it to the world worth it?
Saw it erupting in 2005 and 2006 in strong lava and smoke eruptions. The big rocks were rolling down the hill the whole day with this crackling sound. Great experience! Last year now, I climbed it like you guys, it was magical, although very foggy. Love this volcano. Thanks for uploading!
