- Ramana Balachandhran's second piece of his recital at the Mumbai chapter of the FEA-curated CROSSROADS concert was another composition by Thyagaraja entitled Shobillu in Ragam Jaganmohini.
Ramana was accompanied by the amazing Patri Satish Kumar on the mridangam. - Hudba
Veena is absolutely in safe hands....great Ramana...

Veena, Saraswati's constant companion speaks out eloquently in the hands of this young and devoted Vainika, Ramana Balachandran. Vagdevi would be pleased. It is a joy to listen to him effortlessly letting sangeeta tarangini flow out. Interspersing vocal embellishment is graceful, reminiscent of older genre of Veena Vidwans, who were also Vaggeyakaras.
Patri Satish is a perfect compliment, while being a complement; a veritable Nandikeshwara! Sobhillu Sapta Svara, in Jaganmohini, has been done justice to.
May Bhagavan bless both abundantly. Please share liberally!!

This musician is from “ gandharva loka “. He is just gifted in music 🙏
What we see and hear here is, I believe, a Vaidika VaiNika who plays NOT FOR our Indriya-s or Manas or Buddhi or ahamkaRam or Chittam BUT PURELY FOR our JeevAtman. He is gloriously in the line of maestros who perhaps used to play in the context of Vaidika Yajn^a-s centuries ago whose music perhaps led to the formulation of the concept of nAda-Brahman by music dARSanika-s of the past.
Bullshit
I have not heard anyone else sing while playing veena.. And this well!
U r looking like a Naada Yogi..perfect vocal & Veena Naadamm...👍👍👌🙏🙏🙏🌺💐🌹
Veena Speaks! Splendid! Its so heavenly
Ramana Balachandhran: Ragam Jaganmohini - see Title
When your voice synchronises with the sound of Veena, you are thrilled.Lalgudi K.Sankaran.
his voice is so rich and pure!!! 😍😍😍
Such an excellent performance. Even Bhagavan Ramana would have expressed his ecstacy.
Marvellous... I like the hybrid style of vocal plus veena by this prodigious Vainika. And what can you say about the pure genius Patri elevating the whole experience !!!!
It would appear the lead player for this song is Patri. Its a curious mix of tabla and mrudanga. Listen to it on your best stereo and you go wild on it getting high.
A whole new genre in percussion. Never enough.
Nicely mixing it up by bringing in some vocal support. Ramana has good hands and an equally good voice.
I totally differ.
Excellent!! Great!!.
woow!! never expected this when i clicked the video.. such an amazing talent in such an young age!! inspiration for veena learners like me..
Marvellous!!

sobillu saptaswara....
Raga - Jaganmohini
Listening any artist with Patri is dangerous. It leads to addiction and then I cannot listen with any other accompanist
100% true.. He closely follows every modulation of the veena player
Yaa deadly true !!! I totally agree !!!
Exactly true. This addiction makes you want to throw all other mrudangists to dirt.
Very happy to know there are others that felt the same.
I have no knowledge of Carnatic percussion but I can say he is genius part excellence. Lifting mrudangam percussion to a whole new level. Marvellous.
Whose picture is kept by Ramana jee near to the stand of mic ?
Harsh Patel it’s a picture of his spiritual guru Ramana Maharishi.
Oh I see ya...He is Ramana Maharshi !!!
Over kamkas is there plz avoid over kamkas in
Beautiful veena rendition as usual....but will someone ask him to stop singing in between!
The practice of singing along with veena playing goes a long way back, and speaks to the intimate way in which vocalizations and veena realizations influenced each other and prompted the development of Karnatic music in the way it has, both theoretically and in practice. The great Veena Dhanammal always used to sing while playing. I find Ramana singing while playing to be a central component of his musical aesthetic. Also remember, before the violin came into the scene, it was the veena that performed the role of accompanist in vocal concerts. I hope nobody tells Ramana to give up this precious and sweet practice.
@@vichartatwa very well said. Like and fully agree with what you said. Its a representation of oozing confidence and love of play of the instrument by Ramana.
Occasionally, the Ganesh Kumaresh brothers also used to sing and it added to the aesthetics of the concert as in this case.
@@vichartatwa I totally agree with you. In both traditions of Indian music there is a recognition that Vocal is supreme although instruments are also sublime!
