I completely agree! Love Alynda's voice, love their lyrics .. I'm falling in love with their total sound. Sometimes an album comes along, and it's all I want to listen to. Haven't heard a bad song yet from this band!

i suppose it's in the name - hurray for the riff raff - that her music always feels like it's for the misfits and forgotten who are trying to live a good life alongside those more 'normal' people, more functional people. i always assumed i was in the latter group but i've grown to realise i was never one of them... i grew up in a very 'normal' and healthy family but i was an utter black sheep. I'm depressive and creative and weird, i'm curious about everything, i want to do everything my own way. i could not be less like the rest of my family who do everything 'right' but straight and narrow. i think i've always felt like i wasn't good enough because of that. these days i'm trying to lean into what it is that makes me different

For me, Hurray for the Riff Raff's song Hawk Moon is semi-autobiographical - I relate to it so much! I just love their whole sound!
I learned to embrace my weird a very long time ago! And along the way I found my tribe of misfit toys to keep me company.

Haven't been inspired by the song lyrics from an album or an artist in a very long time. That is no longer the case. Hurray For The Riff Raff's lyrics "I saw your track marks poking through your hoodie sleeve" in the song Alibi convinced me The Past is Still Alive with the revelation that I didn't have to die, that I got out in the nick of time, and that there is still something left is this heart of mine. Bravo!!!! Thank you Alynda Segarra for humbling me and reminding me of who I am

I saw a friend of mine far off by the edge of the jungle. I didn't call out for him because....you know. So I slowly, cautiously walked in towards him. I wanted to yell..."hey Jay, get over here." But he just seemed to walk slowly around that tree. Looked like he was putting a rope around it, but what the hell for? We don't do that. I kept my head down as I ran faster towards him, then I looked up. He wasn't Jay anymore. He wasn't...anyone. The intestinal rope he lapped around the tree had come to its end. And with it....Jay.
