Good vid, but I think you forgot the #1 rule of being a rebuilder -- make sure you have your own 2024 1st! No sense in tanking your pick if you dont even own it.

One thing I will say. When you have a contending asset and you hold him till the deadline. He helps you win and score more points which will hurt your draft pick, if you have a league where you start your best lineup
This ^ You also keep the risk of that asset getting hurt and having no value. A rebuilder in my league just sold James Connor for a 2nd last week. He wouldn’t be able to get that if he waited an extra week
1-4 no chance of winning this year. Took your advice on selling RBs and just moved Jacobs and Waller for laporta and a 24 2nd in TEP. Feelin good about it

If you want to spice up your dynasty leagues, makes then contact leagues. We do ours by years. Sold waddle (1 year left) + late 2025 1st for Gibbs (4 years left) + early to mid 2024 1st. I also own 1.1, 1.2, 1.3. So could have top 4 picks. Plus two or three 2025 1sts. Assets include Geno (3 years), Gibbs (4 years).
Only tip I’ll slightly disagree with is being patient on trades but only sometimes. For example, I traded Nick Chubb and Aaron jones before week 1. I received good offers and sometimes you gotta strike while the iron is hot. If I had waited there value sunk dramatically within a few weeks and would’ve changed the outlook of my entire rebuild.
2024 mid projected pick for JSN and a 2026 2nd? Love buying low but he’s on a team with two other good receivers who will be under contract for a while or will get a new contract

So I'm in a league with some people who have been in the same league for 20ish years. Fair to say they are a little more "traditional" in their team management. Meaning they aren't very likely to seek out trades or accept trades unless it's just a massively uneven trade in their favor. Is there anything that I can do in this situation to maybe kick the tires and get things going? Anything I can say or do to change their mind or educate them on trading in Dynasty? Appreciate any advice fellas.
That's a tough situation. If they're that stubborn our best asnwer is to leave the league 🫤 it's just no fun playing with people like that.
Two year rebuild for me. Traded Dobbins for an early 24 1st, before he tore his achilles. Traded Javonte for another early 24 1st. Traded my 23 1.08 for an early 24 first. Traded the 2.01 and 2.03 for another top 5 24 1st. Have my own first still which is a top 1-3 pick. 1 QB league, have Justin Herbert, Bijan, Pacheco(trade bait), Christian Watson, Gabe Davis, Freirmuth, Josh Downs, Nico Collins, Tyjae Spears as players I'm keeping, Planning on getting Harrison Jr., Malik Nabers, Brock Bowers, TreVeyon(or other top RB), and the next best WR available. Team should be legit if those picks hit.
That lineup is not tank worthy in a 12 man

I’m in a 10-team home league. It’s a 2QB start 11 with 6pt pass TD, and I’m definitely rebuilding.
I got dealt the 1.10 in the startup draft, so I moved up to 1.03 and back to 1.07 to get Herbert, but I gave up my first in the process (I got back another guy’s first).
I’ve made several trades with one guy which basically all equal out to me giving Kyren Williams, Puka Nacua, Anthony Richardson, and Gus Edwards for Patrick Mahomes, 2 seconds, a 3rd, and Tyler Lockett who I plan to sell.
I traded away Jonathan Taylor to get my first back and a 2nd, and I sold Waddle to him earlier in the year for a 25 first, a 2nd, and Jonathan Mingo.
So, in summary, I have a team full of rookies and 2nd or 3rd year players with Mahomes, Herbert, and Bryce Young at QB3. I panicked and sold Kyler a month ago for a 24 first, but right now it’s the 1.03.
If the season ended today, I would have the 1.01, 1.03, 1.08, 2.01, and 2.02. I’m thinking I should buy guys like Chubb with furture 2nds or 3rds, but what should I do with all these picks? I love Marvin Harrison Jr., but should I use the 1.01 on him? Do I trade away all my picks for established players and hope they’re better than the guys I traded to get the picks?

1.01 should be Williams only. You may not NEED the position, but you need to accumulate value. Don't sacrifice that at the 1.01. If anything, trade back. Get Chubb for a 2nd. There's a good in-between with picks. Sell some for established guys in the offseason, keep some for insulated value.

Would you do the 1.01 for Justin Jefferson? I already have 3 QB’s, so other people have the leverage over me wanting to trade down
0-5. Pulled off some bonker trades. Traded Barkley for Josh downs, Joe Mixon AND a 1st and 3rd pick. Also moved Derrick Henry for a 1st 2025 and cam Akers. Those trades I know I won, but I’m curious on my trade for Devonta smith and 2025 first for J. Waddle? I lost 3 close games, team had talent but I’m all for a rebuild with assets. My goal is to try and replace the player with a serviceable player with upside and that pick.

Hi guys love the video! I’m in a awkward situation right now, just gone 2-4 (started 0-4). 3rd of 10 in MAX PF, 2nd in MAX PA. Have a relatively young roster loaded with rookies (Bryce Young, Marvin Mims, Dalton Kincaid, Jayden Reed, Michael Wilson, Luke Musgrave). Also young players such as Olave, Amon Ra, James Cook, Drake London, Romeo Doubs. Also have CMC, Lamar, Jerome Ford, Diontae Johnson who I could ship if I start to rebuild. Should I go right to the deadline and then trade away those type of guys?
Be willing to go all the way to the deadline if you don't get what you want. If the price is right though, no need to wait till the very end.
Sold Ridder for a projected mid ‘24 2nd.. is that about as good as you can get from a guy like ridder ?

It's risky because of Gibbs' usage. Would let the dust clear for a few more weeks before making that deal. People are very high on ETN right now, you could get a better asset

12tm SF, I'm 4-1 with one of the lowest points for, squeaking out lucky wins every week but don't have a chance to compete. Sitting on TLaw, Lamar, JSN and Addison but not much else. Do I move Lamar for 3 24 firsts, projecting they'll be two mid-late and one early-mid.

Question: if you are rebuilding, wouldn’t you want to get players who are putting points on your board, off of your roster, so that you get a higher draft pick? If you have your own 2024 1st?
Theoretically, yes, but not if they're a cornerstone asset (24 or younger) and on a rookie deal. Chances are if you're rebuilding now, two to three other teams are already rebuilding harder. The points you accumulate, or don't accumulate, will be minimal in deciding your pick placement at this point of the game.
What should I look to get for a guy like Raheem Mostert I’m 2-3 and I’m leaning more towards a rebuild than contending. Should I try to get a 2nd from someone who believes their contending or should I hold till the deadline
Mostert is almost guaranteed to get hurt sometime this season. Gotta trade him at peak value, and before that injury.
In dynasty, would recommend trading him asap while he's producing when Achane is out

Yes. But every week JJeff doesn't produce, the market will get lower and lower on him. See if you can't get him for a little bit cheaper when he's been out for a few weeks and JT really starts showing out

Yes you should absolutely sell thielen to a contender as soon as you can. But if you're not getting him at the price you want, just wait. You won't lose significant pick placement from one guy
i traded away by best player (Kelce) during the off season for a 24’ 1st & 2nd. i’m 3-2 without him. don’t think i have a team that can win it all, but also don’t wanna just “give up” even though i thought i would tank this year. not sure what to do
I'm in a similar situation. My team is 1 year punt and I've already committed to it but there's no way for me to properly tank without trading away good players because my max PF is top 6 in the league. Idk what to do at this point other than just hope I get lucky in my lottery with a guaranteed top 4 pick.

as of now I’m 6th place at 2-3, 3rd in Max PF. I only lost to the 1st and 2nd place teams by 9 points each. Then lost to 3rd place by 1. I’m definitely pushing for playoffs this year!

Waiting makes sense unless your league does it right and gives out picks to non playoff teams based on reverse max pts possible for.
Fair, we actually have that policy in our leagues. But You're going to get a top 4-6 pick anyways, you may as well maximize your return with those contending assets and wait. Chances are, if you're tanking now, one or two other teams are already tanking harder.

Side note - Dynasty leagues shouldn’t have trade deadlines. If a team wants to sell their 24 1st for a RB right before the championship game, they still have to carry that decision into future years
