- Well, Crazy Juan is back in action with another exciting maiden. This time with his new SU-30 from E-flite.
What can Happen? Well, we are talking Crazy Juan! Anything can happen!
Good save and also listen to instructions to just land it right away

Short of Rich Baker bringing in that ME-262 after an engine flameout a few years ago that's one of the best recoveries I've seen in a minute for an engine out asymmetrical situation! Great save Juan and certainly great coaching from the tower (Ant) because if Juan would have lowered the gear we all know we would have been looking at an entirely different scenario! This is exactly why we review these videos. Great job guys.
Yeah, we all agree RC FlyGuy, it definitely would’ve been a different situation if Juan had tried to bring it back around with the gear down. Would not have made it, for sure!

That’s a fair statement. Probably not technically what we’d all call a real crash. Maybe a “crash-landing”? 🤣
If you watch some of my old videos you will see me install screen over intakes of my jets. Some Pilots say it restricts air flow but that will never happen to me.😳 You Chose . Great job bringing her in brother 👍🏻✌🏻🖖🏻😃🎄

Does that really qualify as a crash? I thought it was a sudden burst of gravity. Great save, Juan...and Ants decision making and knowledge saved what could have been a nasty wreck. Great job, Gentlemen!
Thanks for chiming in Joe! More like a crash-ditch, but with minimal damage. Many though would consider it a crash on maiden when it doesn’t return home as planned.
Either way, all was good...that day. Can’t say the same for the weeks to follow. 🥴
Juan, what a great maiden flight and landing of the Su-30 and starting out with some maneuvering lol! Man that really unfortunate that a rock got into the fan but what a great save and fantastic that the damage was minimal. Very nice camerawork, coaching and video Anthony! Thumbs up! Beautiful maiden crazy Juan the second flight was pretty epic as well. I can't believe that fan blew up. What a bummer. But such a great save you may be crazy but you are a great pilot 👍 nice job with the filming and coaching Anthony. Merry Christmas to you and your family and flying crew 🤗
Great call on the gear. Just wondering why you made it. Was it because you were heading into brush?
This is my first year in the hobby. My instinct would have been to put the gear because it’s landing, albeit dead stick. Just looking for more detail on why you made that great coaching call. TIA!!👍🏾
Because he had no power due to the blown fan, I knew he wouldn’t make it back to the field and was going to be forced to land in the ruffage. Experience has proven that most of the time when a plane has to make an emergency landing and won’t make it back to the field, lots of damage is done to the landing gear. It’s the most expensive repair, and the most time consuming.
Great question, being fairly new to the hobby. Another thing to remember is that most electrical gear on these jets are set for long and slow deployment and won’t make it all the way down before it lands in an emergency. Thereby damaging the gear even more because it’ll land with the gear partially down in some cases.
