Hey john glad ur back!! 1 thing i wanna mention is that stupid thing EA does to get u to the cap floor. they increase everyone’s contracts which is a bit unfair on u. You should reset the file and give urself a guy or 2 making max contracts on a 1 year deal so it doesn’t give u that extra cap on ur players like keller who still has 5 years left and is making 8.8 million (according to EA getting u to the cap floor) instead of 7.15. that extra money is crucial to the team especially a team looking to start getting competitive and maybe signing a few big name FAs
Just download a community roster file. There are some pre good ones out there with all prospect for all 32 teams, but watching Johnny for the last 12/13 years he definitely ain’t restarting this gm mode, and summing the season all over again
Johnny, with the Yetis having so many draft picks you NEED to have a focus on scouting. Finding good players in the mid rounds will be crucial to a quick turnaround for this roster. It may be a pain in the ass to do with the menu-ing, but it’s well worth it. This is the most complete way to scout a draft class that I’ve found in this game: 2 scouts in: Russia, Liiga, SHL, US Central, WHL, OHL, QMJHL 1 scout in: DEL, NLA, Extraliga, US East, US West Scout Player Type first Sep 13 - Oct 1 Then Strengths and Weaknesses Oct 1 - Nov 11 Skills Assessment Nov 11 - Jan 25 Potential Jan 25 - May 31 Dates can fluctuate a little bit, but those are rough guidelines. Prioritize a scouts overall before region efficiency, because that can increase. When scouting in regions with two scouts, use the first for the top group of prospects and use the second to continue with prospects after the first scouts group. You can also ignore prospects past the 300 ranking mark, I have rarely seen one get higher than low top 6/4 potential. I know this is a pain in the ass to do and understand if you don’t want to do it for this series. But it will be a MASSIVE help in finding the best value prospects to fill in your roster or use as trade pieces.
While scouting, I send each out til January 31st or as close as possible for potential. Then send them out again til as close to June 19th as possible, targeting specific players and further information. Might be kinda lazy but it works 99.9% of the time for accurate information.

I think you’re exactly right when talking about the direction of the team, the Yotes irl were in a playoff race and you have to imagine this team was too. they’ve been in a rebuild for so long, it’s time to start building a contender. As for doing that, while on paper you have 3 medium elites to be your top line going forward, Dylan Guenther, although a sniper, tends to have more assists. Especially if you’re playing him with two playmakers, I think you’re going to want a real deal shooter on that line. Futhermore, while the defense is young and looking good, you’re going to need an offensive defenseman to really boost up your forwards. I would say get a veteran sniper (or even two) and a veteran OFD, and just let the chemistry let the rest of the pieces fall into place. Last, it’s great the yotes have so many draft picks, but I would definitely package them for quality over quantity. Target those computer generated steals and if you’re just going to get a player that will never have a chance of making the NHL, trade it for something of value.

As a coyote fan, I can assure you that if history has taught us anything, no matter how bad the coyotes are, they will NOT get the overall number one pick. Edmonton cornered the market with that, no matter how much worse Arizona was than the Oilers. That being said, go with the gradual build. 👍🏻

These are some moves I think gm superbman should make: Keep durzi, he’s a stud in real life and grows like crazy in nhl 24 Trade vejmelka, 4 mil is a lot for a back up, Ingram is much better and you can get a good back up for cheap and put vejmelkas contract into some more depth Lastly play the young guns give guenther, Cooley, Macceli and doan playing time in the top 6 and on the pp Hope these suggestions help and let’s make this team into a dynasty John

Yes, the return of Gm Mode!! I say try to build from what we have. Got to watch a lot of their games this year even though im east coast and they were exciting to watch. I think they really had something going.
Johnny you gotta restart the save because all your contracts are inflated (Keller for example is making 7,15M irl while hes making 8.86M in the save), the game does this when teams dont reach the cap floor at the start of a save. To fix this give a random bottom 6 who has one year left 11M so your team is cap compliant.
the game legit crashes so often its like a 1/5 chance i crash between periods while playing on xbox one in franchise mode been like this since i got the game 3 months ago and i tried reinstalling and updates arent a issue the game is just broken even has a simple bug from nhl 23 when editing lines sometimes it'll substitute players in the wrong line
