This explained more in a short time than most of the 10+ min videos I've watched 😂😂
Facst lool.
Literally I watched two videos and this summed it up
So quick
Wow I got it before the video was over appreciated
👍
Hell yah man they always try to be super technical and not let us understand what we really wanna know🤔😑
Offset is also one of the members of the popular rap ensemble, Amigos.
At least you tried.
Amigos is their stage name if they ever go to Mexico.
@@Hiukuss issa joke sonnnnnn
Amogus
@@zBalistiqRain *no.*
This is the best explanation for this I’ve ever seen
well that's because you are textbook LOZER that doesn't understand why offset is miserably pointless
Day 66 of asking Fitment Industries to bring back Wheel History.
I second this movement
Keep. Going.
I totally agree.
Simple explanation. To the point. Beautiful BBS wheel!
Same! Definitely admiring that beautiful wheel!
Ive watched so many 10 min or 5 min videos about wheel offset and still could not understand it…after this short, i feel like ive been enlightened thank you!
Thats how I was taught about offsets keep it nice and simple for everyone to understand
Out of all the videos and articles, this short vid crystallized it for me.
Jeez! Had a good understanding of what wheel offset finally means in a 2 seconds video. Thanks
This the best explanation for offset in youtube 🤙🏼
What an awesome short that will probably disappear too quickly.
My wheels are +55 offset... This easily explained what the hell that even means....🤷♂️🏁
I’m so confused
Whats the point of a positive offset?
+55! Wow! Then you must be tubbed.
@@Zain-tr2vo it moves the wheels out farther for handling and keeping a flush face ..not a dished wheel
@@nysteelhorse it's a stock offset..on a stock wheel
Keeping in mind its only the mounting surface that's offset. Not always the spokes.
important distinction, thanks.
The fun part is measuring the distance from the mounting surface on your hub to your fender lip then trying to determine how many millimeters of offset you need on a wheel who’s width is measured in inches to make sure it fits properly.
And don't forget to account for the fender lip! Measure ALL of it, not just the top!
(I never had that problem, but a friend...)
See, this is kinda why backspacing might be preferable. Pick your backspace based on your clearance needs on the inside, then your total width based on how much more space you have between that and the upper area in the fender well. Super easy.
It changes scrub radius as well. Look it up and understand it - it will affect the way your car handles and how the tires wear.
I was listening to a 15 minute video and didn't learn nothing. Listening to you I've learned a lot in 1 minute. Great job!!!
The most clear and concise explanation of wheel offset I've seen on CZcams. Trust me, I've looked at a LOT of 10-15min wheel offset explained videos and they use too many words making something that should be simple sound like you need to know trigonometry to understand it.
Gotta love the Halo Reach sound effect

Headshot😂
Good ol Grunt Birthday Party
Nice and simple to understand
And the BBS wheels in this video are dang sharp too. I'm gonna look those up. They'd look sweet on our LS430. 🤙
This literally completely cleared up offset faster than Max Verstappen at the RedBull Ring….and that’s fast.
Just explained more in 30 seconds than countless forums💀
Never remove this ..this is great info
Talking about explaining it like a 6 year old...THANKS BRO! You made it super simple!
This is the best explanation I've ever seen in my entire life since I was born!!!!
Thank you so much
The best explanation I have ever heard. All we want to know which way the center goes because Honestly no one is going to actually get out there and measure their wheels .
lol, I literally just measured my wheels today
don't forget the always overlooked backspacing. just as important as offset.
Thank You! When I watched Gels explain it previously, I was sort of lost. This just makes it better!
thank you for brief and clear explanation!
Terbaik penerangan nya... Saya betul2 faham sekarang. Terima kasih
Damn, learned something new today lol
Thank you making it simple
For us guys who had to watch 12 other videos
So few know offset, so I've taken to talk back spacing because it's easier to explain... Especially by phone when shopping for used wheels.
This is the best explanation I have ever seen for this
Finally easily explained thank you.
I prefer backspacing. Backspacing instantly tells you the deepest your wheel can be inset for inside clearance. It also more easily allows you to adjust your fitment. Want a wider wheel to achieve fitment? Keeping the same backspacing, any width added to the wheel will be towards the fender lip. Want to keep the same size wheel but change fitment? Reducing backspacing will push the wheel out towards the fender lip. Piece of cake.
Plus, backspacing is easier to measure on your existing wheels, too. Literally just go from the hub face to the back edge with a ruler laid across the back and Voila! Backspacing measured.
God's work. Thank you.
Thisbis the best example ever
Easy people make it so hard. Thank you sir!
The best explanation I've seen 👏
Very helpful! Thank you FI ❤️
I wish someone would come out with a 3D visualizer that give you an idea of how a particular wheel is going to look on a particular vehicle....
there are some websites which can help you get the measurements of how the wheel will look compared to your existing one but nothing 3d modelled. would be an amazing concept but who knows if it could be implemented correctly
@@maxidicorleto7047 It would most likely have to be an app that would require a small team to keep updated. With how big the market is, and for something that requires visual representation to determine aesthetics and fitment, I'm surprised it hasn't been developed yet. Hundreds of racing games out there that already have working concepts that could provide more than enough data to create a functional tool. Every wheel manufacturer should invest in the development of *something*. I believe it would definitely expedite sales.
So simple. This is what I needed
*THANK YOU FOR EXPLAINING*
thanks bro
Thank you lol I’m tired of these 15 minute videos that drag on!
Cool
need this kind of vid more! short and simple!
Can you make a video explaining how wheel offset can affect off-roading/driving?
We can definitely look into it!
How can I save this video this guy just taught me so much in 10 seconds gotta leave a like 👍🏽
Best info video ever!
Thanks man ... now i finally understood wheel offset
Awesome to the point video explanation for youg tuners and those unfamiliar with it
Awesome clip ! Keep it up!!
Thank you
The Best
Ah, I finally understand now. Thanks.
The lower the offset that more it pokes out from your fender? Correct?
Yes
Do I have this right: If I want a wheels with a larger lip/deeper dish, this could reduce brake clearance. To compensate, I need to have a larger negative offset? Keep in mind, I don't want the wheels to protrude beyond the wheel wells, prefer a flush or tucked look. Thank you in advance for your replies.
That is correct
Thank you well explained brother 👍🏻
best explanation for me 👍
And here I thought offset was a rapper.
Good info.
😂
Thank you!
This is the perfect video 😂😂😂
Wow great information
Oh god thank you for breaking it down for me I've been struggling for weeks lol
Now mix in the concave aspect and everybody will be up to date
FINALLY I COULD FREAKING UNDERSTAND THIS!!! And to think it took him much less than 1 minute to teach that! People over complicate everything!
So the rim your showing is a +40 offset rim for a front wheel drive. Correct?
Did u ever find out
Now what is 8j, 9j, 10j etc?
Like life. Positive in, negative out
I FINALLY UNDERSTAND!!
Thanks Br
Thank you very much
Thank you fir this

We're wanting to get new wheels and tires for our 2002 Lexus LS430 and I've found 2 or 3 styles that we really like from the same company, Aodhan, and one style of wheel, which is a true directional, only goes up to an 18", the other style goes up to at least 19" but there's a few different offsets offered with each wheel style. I think each style offers like a +30 and then a +15 if I remember right. These are the rear wheels I'm talking about here and I've looked at several different wheel and tire set ups on the LS430 on Fitment Industries website but I'm still not sure which offset to go with on our car. It's a stock height suspension on springs, not air bags, and from what I can tell it seems like the wheels with less positive offset, like +15 for instance, sticks out more than say a +30 offset but I'm not entirely sure, I'm still confused about it. I've messaged the wheel company but haven't heard back from them yet. Can somebody help clear up my confusion please?
That is correct. The lower the offset, the farther the wheel sticks out.
@@FitmentIndustries They got back to me a little while ago, they told me that the only offset they have in I think 19" 9.5" wide Aodhan DS01 wheels have a +22 offset so I'm wondering if they'll be flush or poke out some. I don't think I mind a little poke out with a stock spring suspension, I don't think I'd have any clearance issues but I'm gonna call you all tomorrow and try to get a better idea of what will work for our car.
Thanks for the reply. 👍
Love it!
I still prefer just saying what the backspacing is. Like the old days. If you have a 10” wide wheel with 3-1/2” backspacing. It has a 6-1/2” of front spacing, “dish or lip” No guess work, no mystery numbers, no estimating what the % will look like. No calculator. All you need is a tape measure and a straight edge to see what wheels will fit.
Very good to know.
Ok, I need to remember this!
But I'm drinkin' right now.
Can you tell me again tomorrow?
Why wouldnt the mounting point be in the center of the wheel? Wouldnt you want it to be equally balanced? Doesnt seem to make sense
Not every manufacturer shares the same suspension geometry. Look up swept angles when it comes to suspensions if you are really interested in the why it's done or at least one of the reasons.
Those BBS wheels are the most beutiful.👍
Ha! Thank you very much
Should have pivot point on bottom of wheel.
Soooooo, is there any pros/cons to adding/subtracting offset?
Simple
Thanx
This might be a dumb question, but I wanna know.
If my car is rated for an oem offset of +51, and I wanted to mount rims with an offset of +47, would that be bad?
It depends on the diameter and width as well. But that’s not too big of a jump in offset at all
So negative offset will eliminate the need of wheel spacers ?.. meaning he wheel will be looking wider outside wheel fender ?......
Sort of. Depends on how low of an offset you will need. May not need to go negative, but a low positive offset.
How do I know what offset a wheel has before i buy it
It is listed!
So much better
So negative offset equals wheels poke more ?
Correct
Do either +/- offsets have any effect on performance?
It can yes
How do I find out what offset gives me the rim that wont protrude outside my car?
We have calculators on our website that can help! We also have our fitment gallery that shows great examples for your car!
where where you when i need this bruh? more content like this will be nice
This made it make sense. Fucking thank you!
I never could grasp what this meant until now
Then what is backspace
