  • A couple of weeks ago I gave a talk on the four last things (death, judgement, Heaven, and Hell) to several hundred people at the Legatus Summit in Palm Beach, FL.
    Here is the meditation on death I read: www.cfpeople.org/books/DeSales...

    Hey Matt, I just wanted to say I love you, and your work is a tremendous blessing.
    As a single guy who converted from atheism about a year ago, I really look up to you. Many thanks for all you do.

      Rhonda ~ I was sleep walking for 50+ and have been receiving the Sacraments for a little over a year. Absorbed in prayer and study, joyously, as if nothing else matters. And truly, very little does except striving to become a saint...The only goal I wished for as a child. St.Theresa Avila has a prayer to Jesus, struggling with those wasted years. Be Well With God. We are Blessed.

      God is good and He is faithful, once on the path that He choose and you are walking together with the Sacraments and daily prayer! Be faithful to Him, greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world.
      The scales have come for me as well a little over 6 years ago and each day is a treasure. Daily prayer includes listening, my experience has been that listening is more important than speaking.
      May the Holy Spirit continue to be your companion.

    Matt Fradd gets this most difficult subject absolutely right. All mortals should prepare for the Four Last Things, Matt leads us through death, judgement, Heaven, and hell ending with a St Frances de Sales mediation. This we have to get right, however else we fall short, we have to be properly prepared for death and judgement. We need all the help we can get, and Matt's talk is a big help.

    I have been listening to your podcast for about a year now, and this is now my favorite talk! I am a college student who has been really struggling with my faith and I have even gotten close to calling myself an atheist throughout these last couple years. This talk and your genuineness is something I really admire and hope to one day have. I have felt disconnected from God for a long time, but this talk gave me hope and helped me refocus my priorities. I have grown up in a family very disconnected from God and even sometimes spiteful towards faith. I just wanted to say thank you for giving this talk and being so open with this story. This is a video I will refer back to often.

      @kyler9323 Před 3 lety

      As a Catholic you are allowed to believe that. However, whether many or few are in Hell, we know that the lukewarm He will spit out. I've heard it put this way: even if most people go to Heaven, if you are in a room with a hundred Christians and all but one person in that room are lukewarm, only the remaining one devout person will be saved. On the flip side, even if most people go to Hell and you are in a room with a hundred Christians and ninety-nine are devout, all but that one lukewarm person will be saved.
      What ultimately matters is whether you die a true friend of God, aka in a state of grace.
