Saving the planet, I’m told, requires socialism!
Greed "is literally destroying our planet,” says Sen. Bernie Senders.
We need “an environment that provides for all people, not just the privileged few!” says Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
Sanders and AOC, as usual, have it backwards.
Socialist governments have “the worst environmental record on the planet,” says Tom Palmer, Executive Vice President of the Atlas Network.
Here is evidence.
“The government is not your friend.” The greatest words ever spoken!
The government is owned by the oligarchy. Who do you think told you it screws up everything it touches? That is by design.
totally true, in the US we should abolish all environmental laws and agencies because that is socialism and socialism bad. We need total freedom and capitalism will save us all! It's funny when you think that the government is basically a bunch of people put together by those same capitalists we're all trying to praise... huh.
"We're from the government and we're here to help!" 😂😂😂
Neither is the GREEDY and SELFISH business people. Like Tesla guy or A$$HOLE Steve Job.
Of course the government is not our friend. It is our servant that believes it controls our lives. It has become a bad servant.
We're being extorted to pay for our own demise.
Extortion is merely coercion and not form of physical force. Being robbed or mugged is physical force. Being extorted can only be accomplished when cowardice is in full force. The brave stand up and say no. Simple, yet is seems to baffle most of humanity. If you principles are not steadfast then they are merely hobbies. Stop whining. Stop paying. Simple.
If you do not pay your tax you first get fines, after that armed people will come to your door and bring you to jail.
Tax is literally legal theft.
Did you see last week in Iowa, the governor took away the auditors ability to audit?! In response to them uncovering RECORD BREAKING waste fraud and abuse last year?
Precisely what ESG is being used for. It will control what we can do with our own money. Then there is the proposed Central Digital Dollar, which makes "your" money into a means of control and tracking that gives the government the power to control every aspect of our lives.
@@jmbstudio6873 Ok Mr. Courage, try not paying your taxes. You will then be coerced to do so, then they use physical force when they take you to jail.
Said Bernie as he flew in a private jet to the protest.
Which protest? Whose jet? Please explain.
That anyone could continue to support him after years of railing against millionaires and billionaires, but then when he makes a butt-load of money off his book, only rails against billionaires...it's amazing and absurd.
It is a government inspired crisis this time. The Treasury have to sell Bonds to cover the trade imbalance and the government spending imbalance. In order to sell them they have to raise interest rates and the old long-term, low risk, low interest, AAA investments (including Treasury Bonds), held by the banks (often due to government regulatory policy), become next to worthless. The next milestone is the 15th when the government issue a new batch of Bonds. I have approximately 350k stagnant in my portfolio that needs growth. What is the best way to take advantage of this downturn?
Indeed, you are correct! Economic downturns offer numerous prospects for ordinary individuals to create wealth from the ground up. Nevertheless, seeking guidance from an investment planner might be necessary if you desire a more assertive return.
In the world of finance, recessions are prime opportunities for wealth creation. When my port-folio suffered a significant loss in April of last year, I realized the need to enlist the expertise of a financial consultant. With her guidance, I have not only recovered from my losses but also generated a profit of 250k. The knowledge and skills I have acquired through this experience have been inval-uable in my journey towards finan-cial success.

I worked and lived in Warsaw, Poland for 5 years. I was always amazed how the older generation hated socialism. Brutal force is always required to maintain the horrors of socialism.
Unlike the current system where no force is used to maintain it. The west keeps destabilising developing countries out of the kindness of their hearts. @@robertfranklin8704 All I said was that socialism and communism are not different.
Oh, there is a difference. In communism, there is no private property. But that's about it.
As to there being different kinds of socialism, yes, there are: Marxist socialism, Maoist communism, democratic socialism and national socialism to name the first four that come to mind.
As for hating capitalism, that makes no sense to me. It has lifted more people out of poverty than any other system we humans have devised. It also provides the greatest freedom for people to rise (and fall) within social structures.
Apologies if I offended you. That was not my intention.
Even though I’m broke and can’t see myself getting rich anytime soon I would never vote to be socialist
Poor people would love to help the environment, but have nothing to give. Luckily the middle class also want to help, and they have much to give. The middle class are endangered, and without them, the environment will go to hell.
@@Bob_Adkins Poor people would love to help the environment so they can use it to get free money. You can add "so they can use it to get free money" to anything they propose. The exceptions are too busy using capitalism to lift themselves out of poverty and into the middle class, which is endangered like you said.
Did you see last week in Iowa, the governor took away the auditors ability to audit?! In response to them uncovering RECORD BREAKING waste fraud and abuse last year?
Because you never would have the opportunity to become rich under socialism. You might get free stuff .... but ultimately you will be paying for it. Like the government paying off college loans.... the college idi0ots don't understand that they will be paying off their college loans through very high taxes.
In a market economy, you may be broke, but opportunities will present themselves so that you may choose a option to better yourself.
Under socialism you will never be better off than your broke self is now, with only one exception, that is you conspire with the government bureaucracy to undermine others or to call out others as not being good comrades to the government where yes, party officials will better your life a little bit better for being a fink and telling party officials where the bad comrades are.🤔

The old argument, it wasn´t real socialism
There's an old joke about two Russians talking about if they had achieved true Socialism and the older one say "No, not yet, it can get a lot worse..."

*this happened that didn't... thus real*
Bernie wants "Democratic socialism". You can vote your way in but you'll have to shoot your way out.
The problem is the socialists have baked the success of it into the definition. You can't have your cake and eat it too!

I doubt it, but you can try. You need to learn something. It is the wrong-wing nuts that are the sheeple. That is why they attempted a coup without realizing just how un-American it was.
The attraction of Marx is based on latent religious feelings that can't be reasoned away through learning. That's why socialism still seduces young naïve people like any cult. Marx is the socialist prophet. His myth is that of a coming judgement day (revolution) where the sinners (capitalists) are vanquished and the Just People are returned to their rightful status in socialist utopia (heaven). The omen of this imminent event is recognized as "late stage capitalism." The Marxist myth thematically follows every apocalyptic prophetic myth ever written and it captivates the imaginations of those that believe they have no religious inclinations at all, which is why they are so lacking in self-awareness of their true motives.
And the educational systems. But the man behind the curtain will not allow that.
The sheeple can learn about propaganda without the telievision.

I will make point capitalism doesn’t try to be green. Yet it seems to do it much better then socialism.
Adam Smith laid it out pretty well over two centuries ago.
In and of itself, capitalism doesn't try to be green. But capitalism is proven to be the best way to maximize the number of people who have enough and minimize the number who don't. In that environment we can afford to care about the environment and make decisions with that goal. When you aren't sure if you will get to eat tomorrow your carbon footprint is pretty low on your priority list.
Socialist programs are public schools, medicare/aid, workman's comp, FICA, social security, on and on and on…
People seem to use the term without understanding it at all…they hear some say it and mindlessly parrot it…
That's because reducing waste helps you reduce cost but when it doesn't matter how much you waste and it doesn't matter how much things cost there's no point in doing any of that
Also when you control 100% of the government and everything and everyone's lives they can't say nothing about it they can't do nothing about it so there's no consequences for anything they do

agreed, the worst Demos are really socialists who don't yet have the power to enforce their lust for control.
"This time" they WILL protect the environment - at the expense of humans.
Thank you. It's always nice to hear the truth.
Socialism is often led by educated elites who think that if 'experts' ran things everything would be so much better. Unfortunately, experts are often experts in only a very narrowly defined and controlled space that their expertise falls apart in real world complexity. Many activists, oftern socialists, look for the 'easy' solutions to complex problems without any real concern for the perverse unintended consequences of their policies. They just aren't prepared to do the hard work that all real solutions require in even the most simple systems: compromise and optimization.
Policies that these so-called experts devise almost never take the human factor into account. All these wonderful ideas that look great on paper but fail miserably in reality. Bottom line is humans are competitive, and a competitive market is the only thing that works. In a perfect utopian communist society where doctors get compensated the same as janitors, all the doctors will leave and go somewhere else where they will be fairly compensated for the advanced level of work they do. It's really just simple common sense. "From each according to his abilities, to each according to his needs" doesn't work in the real world where there are greedy people that want more, and talented people who won't accept less. Hence why the black market, crime, and grift was rampant in these countries that practiced this type of government.
Sri Lanka it listened to wef so called elites and experts and went bankrupt
Isn't the world currently ran by that way?
I think generally the problem of that sort of organization of power historically persisted in either case.
I used to think like this when I was a teen. I grew up though and now know that humans are faulty by nature and such beliefs don't work.
My father used to describe experts this way. They learn more and more about less and less until they finally learn everything about nothing.
Always good stuff from you Mr. Stossel, been watching your reports for decades. Thanks for all you have done. :)
I don't think he is a good journalist if he can't even tell the difference between varying forms of government. There is a large difference between Socialism and Democratic Socialism.
@@Ironeagle115 Tell us you are an idiot without saying you are an idiot.
Socialism is socialism PERIOD, it doesn't work. The ONLY way for it to EVER work would be to remove laziness and greed entirely from the human condition.... Not going to happen EVER, therefore socialism will never EVER work.
' we're from the government and we're here to help ' 9 most dangerous words said Reagan !!!
These politicians make me sick.
A friend of mine bought an electric car a few months ago and I haven’t seen them since… the building they live at has no charger so they have to charge somewhere else where there is a lineup. It’s been ruling and ruining their life. All they do is try to charge their car so they can go to their slave job. They have no time left for anything else
Lol, an electric car is really only beneficial if you own a house and can charge it at home every night
@@HerbaMachina - and even then you have to hope that it won’t catch on fire while charging, like some did at Ford coming off the assembly area.
This is the price your friend is willing to pay for saving the climate. He is doing this for a higher cause! ☝️
Just kidding... 😆
How many millions of people live in cities and don't have access to a charger? Does anyone outside of the Green fantasists think they will be happy to only ever use public transportation because they can't use and EV?
Did your friend realize that over 60% of the power in this country comes from burning coal and oil? Chances are good more fossil fuel gets burned to charge his car than he would use in gasoline in a fuel efficient economy car. Unless he just happens to live where they have an abundance of wind, solar, or hydro power. Shit, I live just a few miles from one of the biggest hydro power sources in the world (Niagara Falls) and my power comes from coal because us plebes in upstate NY don't get that nice hydro power, it gets piped down to the important people down state!
3:43 "CONTAIN THE SPREAD OF THE MISINFORMATION" This line gives me chill...
This video is MISINFORMATION... think critically.
@@QAlba1074 Prove it. Show me evidence that there are any untruths in this video.
@@freethebirds3578 This is propaganda. If you can't figure that out, good luck in life, sucker.
@@freethebirds3578 I love how capitalists twist truth to manipulate people and make them believe lies.
1. China has become a factory for capitalists which do not care about environment, especially environment of China, but blame "socialism" for problems they created.
2. Aral sea had this problem for decades during Soviet times and the reason for it melioration of lands, not socialism. But socialism addressed the issue by proper planning and had a project to solve it completely. Cost was estimated to be around 30-50 billion dollars. Soviets were ready to implement it till 1986 (when capitalistic reforms started to take place). Aral sea problem went out of control after illegitimate dissolution of Soviet Union and moving to capitalism in 90s - 2000s.
Another problem capitalism created - black caviar production dropped considerably due to overfishing in 90s (after moving to capitalism) and reduction of beluga population. During Soviet times planning was used to make sure population of fish remains stable. Black caviar had a cost of ~6 soviet rubbles per 100g and was on people tables regularly.
3. Chernobyl disaster is believed by many to be a sabotage and was handled professionally by Soviet scientists, KGB and Soviet army. HBO series is complete BS propaganda which is far from reality.
@@freethebirds3578 they even mention Stalin while he had nothing to do with situation with Aral sea at all. Most of irrigation systems near Aral were built long after Stalin was dead. And the process was initiated during Khruschev's last years as General Secretary.
I really liked the comment about farmers. I don't know who said it first, but I heard it from my late brother, a 4th generation farmer: "Farmers were the first environmentalists". He also said "It matters who you vote for".
Another great one, thank you sir.
I agree with this. Here in the Philippines, the Whale Sharks were hunted before for their meat but since it's more profitable to have tourists swim with these majestic sea creatures, the fishermen protects it and earn more money.
one of the bigger ways western countries have made their air cleaner, is outsourcing the polluting industry into china, because its more profitable. is that a good thing? for western countries, sure..
Why did not you add them to Red Book as protected spieces like we did in Soviet Union?
Yeah, capitalism is literally the sole cause of climate change, but let's believe that it's not to make you feel better.
And it was capitalists who did the genocide in your country.
Thank you Stossel.
ALWAYS GREAT INFORMATION JOHN, KEEP THEM COMING!
What we see in the world today is a prime example of the tragedy of the commons, over fishing and pollution are both a great example.
That is one of my favourite Stossel videos, along with the one where he plays California and Texas against each other!
Over fishing is created by capitalists exploiting the commons.
Created by capitalism.
@@QAlba1074 yes, thanks to capitalism we have improvement in viewing tech, cameras and sound recorders and internet tech; that allowed those movies to be made, distributed on and watched from, the internet.
As if no other culture ever overfished or overhunted animals to extinction before the 20th century.
The Left’s cure for a headache: “Smack head against wall!” Then, you say, “That made it worse!” Their answer, “You didn’t smack it hard enough! Let me help!” Then you say, “Ouch! Now I’m bleeding and it’s worse!” Their answer, “No problem. Let’s cut off your leg. Then, you forget about headache.”
Ha ha! What a stupid heap of bullshit.
Thank you for defending our freedom!
Well stated , truth taught, i hope lesson learned be the young.
I remember hearing that sparrow story ... i think anyone that doesnt know this story is a fool
I wouldn't call them fools for not knowing as that would be a product of a very flawed education system. Just like our MSM relies on the most dishonest tactic of "Lies by Omission", it would seem our education system is using the same tactic. A fool would be someone who was told this story and failed to learn the lesson from it.
It's his story.... HISTORY
Once again, John Stossel nails it. Props and kudos!!
When you care so much for the environment that you cut down thousands of forest acres to put up solar and wind farms.😅
which don't produce a bit of oxygen
Back before the iron curtain fell, I spent some time in Germany. There is a town there which is the location of the Weserspitze. This is where the Fulda river comes out of (then) West Germany to combine with the Werra river out of (Communist) East Germany to form the Weser river which then flows to the North Sea at Bremen. You could stand right at the junction of the two (three?) rivers and see the water from the east had a head on it like beer. The 2 rivers would NOT mix. You could go 20 miles (?) downstream to Rheinhardshagen and look at the river and still tell the difference in the water sources.
5 minutes of pure, quotable, common sense
Stoss... you rock. Bless you. Stay doing God's work.
In the UK foreign owned water companies have polluted all the rivers.
Another great video, thanks John!
"Contain the spread of misinformation." Which later turned out to be the truth. Much like how they handled c0v1d.
PRECISELY!
Great reporter John is.
Once again John you're right on the mark... I just subscribed.
Stossel covers some of the best topics and he is spot-on here. This video link should be required viewing for all high school students.
Thank John! You’re a breath of fresh air!
Well said. Thanks, Stossel.❤
In Austin TX, all the "environmentalists" who went to Zilker creek - trashed it. They left garbage and cigarette butts everywhere.
California deja vu all over again!
Great video! I shared it on Twitter.
Stossel nails it again. Too bad we're the only living species born with amnesia.

GOD BLESS JOHN STOSSEL
So many intelligent points made throughout this video.
Thanks for posting it.
I am in Kazakhstan, the greatest recipient of Soviet environmentalism!🤣
Exactly don't you guys have a giant hellhole burning in the middle of your country that russia accidentally lit on fire
@Freedom it's a very common name for those who would join the UN peacekeepers buddy. He never said he was born in or from Kazakhstan
Outstanding work as always!
