one of the greatest crime of kirov direction /management was that all that group of magnificent dancers of 60's 70's were not filmed or very very few as yuri soloviev ,so we have nothing about brevgadze panov budarin vikulov sokolov and others ,was really a crime.

@lagartijococotero sometime came on it and again watch and compare ,nobody does like her ,old pure kirov artystry of her beloved generation of kirov divine dancers,and the last one was mezentseva with her arms without comparation
@pediatrapaola Dear pediatrapaola, we share a lot of ideas about of ballet, also I think that Komleva is the best as Nikiya and one of the last great Kirov dancers as well as Mezentseva, Terekhova and Chenchikova, criteria change with time and politics
Komleva is simply marvelous, as to be expected. I would also love to see Sizova, Bessmertnova , Bolshakova if anyone knows of footage on YT. Komleva's technique is so graceful and strong, how she holds the arabesques ( @1:351:50) so steady is beautiful. However.......i just hate that flower basket dance (the choreo) it's almost comedic dancing with a basket of flowers like its' a tambourine or something. If you danced around like that with a basket of flowers...they'd fall out! Not to mention, the SNAKE!!
in one old italian magazine l have one report about mezenteva in bayaderka that put in great evidence the deep drammaticity of her interpretation .really a pity she was not filmed in the whole ballet ,or if she is l don't know and never saw in this act just fragments from act of shadows
solor was supposed to be played by Yuri Soloviev but he killed him self before the production was to hit the stage so he was replaced by this guy. if only yuri lived then their would be one or more full length ballets with him as the lead filmed and documented.

I think ketinoa used to have full bayaderka with Mezentseva? But I'm not sure.

This seems to be a modern production - everything is exactly the same as today. There was no such a filming quality in 1977. I doubt this is Komleva.
