Tiffany, my niece got me one of those bird feeders for Mother's Day, I had told my husband about yours and he said order one and she had no clue I even knew about these. I feed the birds everyday. Hope you had a great Mother's Day as well.
Your house and land are so nice. Power washing is so satisfying to watch. I wish you would have shown more. I love that bird feeder. I have watched and have taken care of my birds for years and I am far from being a grandma. I love you music and calming voice.

Love the green and white combination in your deck planters. Alyssum is my absolute favorite... and mine reseeds and comes back every year!!! It always feels so goof for that first AL fresco dinner of the season!

Hi there Tiffany! Such a beautiful deck update! One thing, you should really wear a mask when power washing algae. You don’t want to get sick from inhaling air borne spores!
On Pinterest there is a recipe for cleaner for washing your windows. I have 52 windows to wash and it makes the job so much easier. It is dawn dish detergent, vinegar and jet wash (for dishwashers) and very hot water. Now I just guess when I mix it up. As fast as you can dip your flat mop in the soap and swish the window then rinse it is done!!! You really need a flat mop on a pole that swivels to make it easier.

You should try lining the coir in the hay rack planters with a trash bag (or two) before filling with potting soil. This will retain more moisture than the “moisture retaining” soil that you used! Alternatively, disposable baby diapers can be used. I did this to a hanging basket and highly recommended it. The geraniums in the pot are “zonal” geraniums which are annuals.

I don’t believe that geraniums are perennials however you can overwinter them by hanging them upside in your garage or basement and then replant them in the spring 😊 your deck looks beautiful

From what I understand, only ‘mother’ geraniums are perennials. Although I think if you keep them in your garage or basement during winter where there’s a window, they will keep going. Might want to google it. Just cleaned my front porch, brought out our cushions but nights still a little too cool for annuals here in Niagara Ontario. That is a great tip you can power wash area rugs!!!

Hi Tiffany. Happy Mothers Day.💐Love what you do always. Just a few things. Geraniums are annuals but you could bring them in for the winter and you could use them again. We take down our bird feeders in the warm months because of bears, but my husband made simple bluebird boxes and that is so fun to watch in early spring. When the babies hatch, it is so cool. If you want to attract hummingbirds , there are many flowers that they absolutely love. Lantana is a great one. We enjoy watching them come to our deck all the time. Beautiful time of year, enjoy!

Great job, everything is so fresh and pretty. Geraniums are not perennials, they’re annuals, however there is a perennial geranium, but they don’t look anything like annual geraniums, but they’re really nice too. I have that birdfeeder. I’m on my second one because the first one we had on a post around our patio and it blew over and smashed, and then I have another one with from Etsy, that I don’t care for it, but I have a new one like yours that I have to put up. Yes, they’re great, we absolutely loved them. I’ve been feeding birds and gardening for gosh over 30 years.

That bird feeder is so neat. I don’t get many birds around. We have too many cat’s outside. Which I just found out they are all mine, because I feed them. Even though they came with our property or people dumped them here. But that’s okay. I’m an animal lover and will keep on feeding and giving them treats everyday. They expect it now. A bird feeder would just be mean to the birds at my house. I’ve seen these cats climb way up in our trees. We have trail cams. And they catch things and people who are on our land. I wish we could power wash our house. But we have to have our water trucked in. And we need it for showers, laundry and dishes. So our water is too precious to powerwash our house. But it really needs it. And our porches. I love your house. It may be a little too big for the two of us. But I would love a basement. And an upstairs for visitors to stay. But I would definitely want my bedroom downstairs. I just don’t know if I want mine so close to the kitchen. Ours is there now. And when my husband is in there he isn’t quiet. And I’m trying to sleep. Because I’m a night owl. Your flower boxes are really pretty. You could have Danny build you some out of wood. I’m sure there are brackets to hang them on the deck railing.

Love the feeder better for late fall and winter because the birds feed on insects in the spring and summer they eat ticks too. I do love watching the birds as well we put up bird houses everyone in our neighborhood has them.

*Word of caution regarding the rug* if it’s growing algae, it’s getting wet and not drying well. And if it’s getting wet and not drying well, _neither are the deck boards underneath_ and in time they will get soft before they begin rotting out completely.
