    I feel for lee, all the effort growing up, creating that talent and having that pure delivery of a cue only to be taken advantage of because a 100 year sport pays peanuts to its 16 and below ranked players. 6 Chinese players suspended says it all, its a big input for little reward and temptation will make anyone think twice.

    The greatest cue action ever. It’s a shame what he did and the ban of 12 years was too long. Especially when you consider John Higgins only missed 6 months while his match fixing case was looked into. He was caught on video agreeing to fix matches but got away with it. The only reason why is because he was a bigger draw to world snooker and Hearn didn’t want to let him go. It’s all about the money.

    Stephen Lee is serving a 12 year Ban for match fixing 7 games, two of which were UK championship, 2 in Malta and One in the Worlds. Judged by his peers Willie Thorne at the time said that effectively Lee is serving a lifetime ban as he would be 50 yrs old by the time he had completed his ban in 2024. He is unlikely to be able to compete on the circuit at that age, for which he has to pay $40k to be readmitted on to the circuit. By then he could have an opportunity to join the Seniors Tours but even that would be unlikely as it required Lee to reapply for a professional snooker card. Unlike Lee, John Higgins on the other hand successfully defended his "charges of match fixing" and was handed a slap on the wrist "six month" ban. A sad end for such a talented and amazing player - the big question is why did he do it? The public, including his fans have been robbed of seeing him play and will likely never see him again. Very Sad.

    • @djsteves554
      @djsteves554 Před 2 lety

      Higgins didn't get banned for match fixing as there wasn't any evidence that he actually did it, he got banned for failing to report the 'meeting' to World Snooker.

    • @zardoz8023
      @zardoz8023 Před 2 lety +7

      Because snooker is corrupted, that's why. Higgins is a bigger name, with more conections within the sport. Lee didn't deserve such a harsh suspension, but they decided to make an example out of him to wash their own dirty hands. It's unfair when you consider one got filmed on camera selling frames and is still allowed to play the game, and even won a world title, while the other got his career destroyed and taken away from him.

    • @snookerfacts5563
      @snookerfacts5563 Před 2 lety +4

      It was apparently because Lee went through with fixing the matches and Higgins didn't, he only got caught on camera saying how easy it would be. Lees ban is unfair to say the least, he has a real talent. still aloud to play exhibitions, i believe he plays a lot in China 🇨🇳
