    I make these too, and those are beautiful. However, just a suggestion. When you do the drizzle pink, white or any color over the apples, try to use different parchment paper for each color. That's a lot of wasted chocolate. You can put them in a zip loc bag, melt and reuse it. I do it all the time.

    • @QueensUniqueDesigns
      @QueensUniqueDesigns  Před 5 lety +33

      Yea I try not to waste any chocolate. In the beginning I did use to waste not knowing or should I say, not thinking, but the more you do it you learn. Thank you! I actually saved it though and reused it. I still today blend certain colors to make different shades and colors. But any suggestions or advice you have is definitely welcomed.

    I use coconut oil with them instead. I find that they dip easier and it makes them shinier. With the crisco added, once they sit, they start having a chalky, chewy, thick like texture. The coconut oil makes for a better taste and better texture.

      That was the biggest struggle in the beginning for me and occasionally it can still happen. Make sure your chocolate is not too hot before dipping. Also depending on how thick your chocolate is, you may not need to shake off as much excess if it looks as though it’s about to happen. That honestly almost made me stop doing apples in the beginning but it takes work and more and more practice. But if it begins to look that way, sanding sugar and decorations are your best friend. Also the type of chocolate makes a difference.

Then cookie cut circles in the chocolate and cover them around the strawberries and form a rose.

      Banana World, candy doesn’t stick because the wax is still on the apples. Place apples in boiling water for about 15 seconds take out and dry with towel thoroughly and the candy should stay. Many videos on how to properly clean your apples. Good luck.

    • @QueensUniqueDesigns

      There is no time limit on it. You can put oil in before putting in the microwave, during the melting process or after. Either way, put candy in the microwave in 10-15 sec increments. Add oil to get candy to the consistency you want.

    • @QueensUniqueDesigns
      @QueensUniqueDesigns  Před 4 lety

      Lighter Melts are usually more difficult therefore you will add more oil to get the melts to the consistency you want. Chocomaker brand does really well and they now have red and blue along with the white and chocolate or you can buy white and add candy color to it. I use both Wilton’s and Chocomaker melts. The more you use them the better you will get at getting them to the consistency you need.

      I make most of my treats the night before. I wrap and leave it out for presentation purposes. If you place in the fridge, make sure to place them in an airtight container.

    Hi, love the video! You did a beautiful job!
    I would like to make these for a baby shower. How do you normally store the apples and strawberries once they are made?

    • @QueensUniqueDesigns
      @QueensUniqueDesigns  Před 5 lety +1

      Thank you♥️I usually do my treats the night before and keep them out. As long as they are stored in a dry cool place. If I have time I usually do strawberries the morn of the event but they will still be ok the night before as well.

    Next time, dazzle them over an open plastic bag.. U can reheat the waste portion & reuse it on more apples

    • @QueensUniqueDesigns
      @QueensUniqueDesigns  Před 5 lety +1

      They were reused. Once it hardens, it’s easy to break up and put in a plastic bag for reuse.

    If I do these a day before do I have to store them in the refrigerator until Its times to take them out ? And they will not melt if I have them out in display for the party ??

    • @QueensUniqueDesigns

      I always do mine the night before and leave them out as long as the area is dry and cool, they’re fine.

    Did u prepare the apples like for candy ones or just wash and dry??

    • @QueensUniqueDesigns
      @QueensUniqueDesigns  Před 4 lety

      I wash mine then sit in a bowl of really hot water, not boiled, while turning them and dry them.

    So you don't have to boil the wax off to dip them in chocolate?

    Did you have to strip the wax off the apples or what did you use to clean them?

    • @QueensUniqueDesigns
      @QueensUniqueDesigns  Před 4 lety

      All I do before dipping my apples is wash them or place them in a bowl of hot water from the tap. I don’t do the boiling method for these. Boiling method helps the most when doing candied apples, in my opinion.

    Can the melts be placed over a double broiler to melt them faster? And instead of using shortening can I use coconut oil?

    • @QueensUniqueDesigns
      @QueensUniqueDesigns  Před 5 lety +1

      Yes it’s ok to melt them that way. I’ve never used coconut oil but I’ve heard of people having a bad experience with it but it’s all abt trial and error and figuring out what works best for you. You can also use vegetable oil
