She is totally deserving of being inducted into the R+R Hall of Fame. She has graced so many great records with her fabulous voice and, people have no idea how many of the great girl group records she vocalized on.

Darlene, Phil Spector took advantage of so many in those days. Anyone who listened to AM radio and all the tunes in the early 60's will know that beautiful voice of yours in any song.
You were and still are awesome!!!
I listen to all your CZcams songs you sang I can find weekly.
You are awesome and so much talent and joy you have provided me and others in almost 60 years of listening to that beautiful voice of yours. You Rock!
You are in my Rock n Roll Heart of Fame and so many others during your musical career.

Darlene was already a 'solo' artist in 1963, with actual Top 40 hits like "Today I Met The Boy I'm Gonna Marry", and others under her own name. In any case, she's so deserving to be finally inducted and honored for all her work.

Darlene Love; Arlene Smith of the Chantels , the Shirelles; and Ronnie Specter of the Ronettes introduced me- and my 13 year old girlfriends - to this torchey, gospel- laced singing, dancing, heartbreaking, in your gut female power vocals that became more than a backdrop- in those formative years! I still sing - unabashedly- whenever I hear Darlene. I don't care where I am or what I'm doing. If she's singing, I'm wailing right along with her. She makes the world a JOYFUL place; a SOULFUL place. "Love is surely Gospel": Laura Nyro! Her voice helped lay the foundation of music that helped build the Hall of Fame. Well done...

"Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah" (from Disney's "Song of the South") - have this on a CD collection and now know this lovely lady was featured on the recording. Love the Crystals. Glad for Darlene's eventual solo success; and congratulations on entering the Rock and Roll Hall of fame. BTW she looks as great on the outside as she appears to be inside. This interview brought warmth and happiness to my heart. 5/2019

at first, I wondered "why is she getting that emotional about her induction into the HoF?"...and then it hit me. First of all, she should've been inducted YEARS AGO...Hell, maybe even decades ago. But second to that, when year after year goes by (she said she was 70), and you watch friends and acquaintances you knew from the old 'chitlun circuit' make it in there...you've gotta be sitting there thinking "wait just a goddamn minute!...I know damn well, i deserve to be in there if so and so, is in there!". But above all that, her talent and body of work, alone, is worth an induction.

The only thing I don't like is how she takes the credit for Da Doo Ron Ron. That is Lala's voice on that record. I recently watched an interview with Lala and she said herself that only recently Darlene started to admit it wasn't her song. It took her that long. He's A Rebel was The Blossoms and Da Doo Ron Ron was The Crystals.

From her book, "My Name Is Love", Darlene states she sang lead with the Blossoms, Fanita James & Gloria King, as back-up on both "He's a Rebel" & "He's Sure the Boy I Love". La La Brooks is definitely on lead on "Da Doo Ron Ron".

Richie R Love actually recorded “Da Doo Ron Ron” but it was left unfinished & unreleased. A previously unreleased take of “Chapel of Love” did surface on the 1990 boxed set. She includes “Da Doo”...in her shows but doesn’t explain its history.
