We were held back. A lot of catastrophe has happened in history that 'slowed the progress' of humanity, or rather, erased some events and knowledge that became lost history. I still think it's interesting that some of these structures have been dated by inscriptions. Mediocre inscriptions on PERFECTLY cut and polished stone are not an indicator of when it was built. It's the equivalent of me signing my name on The Mona Lisa with a sharpy and then claiming I painted it.

What's being described in the vid. between 12 and13 minutes in, looks a lot like what we're seeing going on around us in the world today. Everywhere, climate disasters, floods, tornados, excessively high temps, melting sea ice from polar icecaps and general mayhem. We are puffed up with enough self importance to think that climate change is manmade, but I think we have to face the possibility that this is a "rinse and repeat" scenario, whereby other advanced civilizations have come and gone long before us, and there is now credible evidence that the Sphinx, and possibly the pyramids, pre-date the Egyptian period that they have long been considered a part of.
the only thing that's washing us out is an asteroid or some other extremely unlikely scenario, and even if by some magic we are wiped out, we're going to leave behind countless artifacts about our civilization, all over the solar system and even outside of it, things that none of the previous supposedly advanced civilizations left behind, so even if your rinse and repeat scenario is true, we are the most advanced civilization on this planet to date, i think we'll have a better chance in surviving and rebuilding after supposed global natural disaster, our knowledge will never disappear
