    I was born in Logan and as you travel thru Omar to Sara Ann my Grandpa Jesse Farley s house still stands and my Uncle Tom Farley had 2 houses , one on the main road and the other on the hill as you cross the old bridge to go up into the Hatfield Cemetary and my Great Aunt Grace Hatfield ,married to Joseph Hatfield,Devil's son,she was my Grandma Vada Ferrel Farley's sister...Uncle Tom had to take Grace's casket up the hill with his bulldozer, I have been in that cemetary so many times as a child but still enjoyed the stories of days gone by.

    I live in Southern Nevada in a city adjacent to Las Vegas, so it stands to reason that I'm pretty jaded when it comes to rural areas that try to drum up interest in their tourism. While watching this video, however, I started to notice a high level of production value, to include some beautiful cinematography and a healthy amount of interesting subject matter, presented with a friendly, folksy, down-home delivery. Anyway, I just wanted to say that those who put this production together should be congratulated because I'm now considering Mingo County, West Virginia as a future vacation destination. Well done!

    For decades generating electricity with natural gas was 4 times as much as coal . In 2003 2008 , the price of natural gas averaged more than $7.00 . However , today NG is $1.68 . Coal plants have been switching and the domestic demand for coal is plummeting.

    • @klwthe3rd
      @klwthe3rd Před 4 měsíci +1

      Yeah but what nobody ever talks about is that to get that cheap natural gas out of the ground, Fracking is used which destroys the earth and water underneath the land. Coal may burn dirty but it doesn't cause the widespread damage that the natural gas extration does overall.

    • @jaimeavakarianvillamonte744

      @@klwthe3rd Coal is fine and fracking is done here in my area and its also no problem. We need to use more coal and save gas for cooking and heating. Converting NG into electricity is a waste at 35% efficiency

    That is a nice video for Mingo County but do a little history people........the feud didn't start over a pig! It really started long before that. Back in the Civil War it started between Anderson Hatfield and Randall McCoy. The pig was pretty much the icing on the cake. If you watch the Hatfield movie with Kevin Costner playing "Devil Anse", it will give a little better description of how the tension built up between the families. Just FYI. Thanks.

      You're right it started back in the Civil War and now it looks like we're going to have a revolutionary war to save our country from being a communist country if we don't fight people they were taking over our country and will have no Constitution and no rights at all the doorway with our Christian churches and guns and everything it'll be horrible to live here be just like living in China and that's what Joe Biden wants to do is give our country to China. I even heard him say it. I'm a fighter I'm from Mingo County born and raised in Williamston and I will never let no come in this dictator Joe Biden take over our country without a fight. correction: The hatfield and mcCoy feud did not start over a pig. It started at the very beginning of the civil war both sides were pro confederate, except for Rand'l McCoy's Brother who was pro Union. When one of the Hatfield boys found out about this, they shot and killed Rand'l's brother. Rand'l was fuming mad about the news that one of his family friends killed his brother. Also Devil Anse hatfield up and left for home in the middle of the night during the war abandoning everyone. The part about the pig comes later on, but it is not what actually began the feud. The reason why I know this is because Confederate Robert E. Lee Hatfield, one of Devil Anse's sons, is one of my great great great grandfather's, thus making Devil Anse my great great great great grandfather. Remember we cannot change who our family is or what has happened in the past, all we can do forgive and forget the past and the actions of those that have done us wrong. We are all God's children and He never wanted His children to fight each other and hold on to the past.
