I think Dave’s character was fine, but the relationship with Sky just- destroyed his likability. He became such a whiny character and it was bad. I could see a redemption season with Dave moving on after possibly being a minor villain.

Nice guys are nice. Dave is a bad person who jumps around a girl even if she tries to make things clear, and then gets hostile when she rejects him. Sky has her faults, but Dave was more jackass to her than she was a jackass to him.
i think its really unfair to compare dave to cody. cody knew that gwen wasnt into him, and not only backed off, but he helped her get with trent! he was such a good guy, but dave? dave just kept pushing and pushing.
also, you should review justin one day. i love him a lot, but i see tons of people hating on him and calling him a terrible villain.

Dave had potential, but his character was torn to shreds because of his whiny attitude towards Sky.
Dave was definitely at his best during the earliest episodes of Pahkitew Island. He was amazing as the dumbfounded straight man to the wacky shenanigans of his more fun and madcap teammates. Unfortunately as those said wacky teammates began to get rapid fire voted off, he was left with very little to do other than swooning over the terminally bland Sky. Yes, I said it, Sky in my opinion is easily the blandest Total Drama character of all time. I honestly couldn't tell you about her personality, because she doesn't really have much of one. Also, that whole leading Dave on, making him think that he had a chance when she had a boyfriend the whole time was a pretty shitty thing to do. It doesn't excuse Dave's behavior at all, but still, it can't be ignored.

Meanwhile in the very first episode of pahkitew Dave was continuously interrupted when ever he tried to come up with a plan, in fact when Leonard said they should build a wizards tower 3 people (Ella, Sugar, and Beardo) went along with it, when Dave tried to tell them that they shouldn't build it Sky interrupted him saying the *TEAM* voted (and yes to me that automatically adds her to the people who agreed with Leonard) even though at that point it was only 5 votes after that they ended up going with Leonard's idea and lost

Teens backstabbing each other and dating or forming alliences. Good video by the way

I think Dave’s character is pretty realistic. There are a lot of people who react negatively when being rejected and all they want to do is rub their success in their crush’s face as a way to make them feel bad or feel the pain they did. Even though it insanely reduced his likability in the show, I like how it revealed another side to him. Btw I love your videos and would love it if you did a video about Topher ❤️❤️

Chris has always been that way, he loves to stir up DRAMA. I see Dave as someone who the views were supposed to hate hime by the end. Not someone poorly written.
He was one of my favorites in Pahkitew Island. His character was great in the first few episodes, germophobia aside. But all that drama between him and Sky (another one of my faves) turned him into a whiny crybaby. I'm not gonna lie, I love them together. But the writers just *had* to make their relationship *and* Dave's reputation go down hill. Heck, even going as far as turning him villainous in the finale.

I think that the whole thing with Sky having a boyfriend was just the writers panicking and trying to find a way to make Sky the villain.
Think about it. Sky told Dave the whole season that "I like you, but I want to win the million first." She didn't even hint at having a boyfriend. It made absolutely no sense. That, plus them absolutely derailing Dave's character and trying to make Scarlett the villain, makes me think that the writers kinda forgot how to write after the merge.
The writers wanted to reinforce the simp mentality in the viewers' minds, kinda like with 500 Days of Summer
Joe4 That and I also thought that after episode 6, that they had a different writer for each episode. Because I found it very ironic how in episode 9 that Sky rejected dave after being concerned when ella had put his hand on dave in episode 5. I just got very annoyed; did she like him or not or was she just stringing him along. Thing is if you keep giving people mixed feelings this can lead to them trying to pursue things that aren't going to work; like a relationship. Sky should had told him between episode 2 that it wasn't going to work.
Dave is actually one of my favorite characters in the entire series. I love how terrible his plot is (terrible in the sense that it's tragic, not badly written). I love how, over the course of the season, Dave slowly went from the most normal guy on the season to one of the craziest in the series.
Also, I'm glad he and Sky didn't get together. I feel like they would've been REALLY dysfunctional and it would've made both of their characters worse.
If you want a guy who became crazy overtime like Ezekiel instead.

I hated Dave right from the very first episode, though I'm pretty sure that's the writers actually succeeding. The way he is relentlessly punished at every turn kind of proves this, how no matter how close he gets to kissing Sky or having a moment with her, something will come and ruin it (Sky burping, Sugar throwing up on him, Chris etc.) His purpose is to be hated so viewers can get satisfaction when seeing him suffer. I actually liked him in the last episode, it was like he had snapped and it was entertaining to see him be so crazy (and fun as I hate him). The biggest problem I have with Dave is how he brings Sky down and reduces her to little more than Zoey 2.0 after her great start.

honestly dave was alright-ish up until he said he “didn’t wanna hear the but” and started completely disregarding sky’s feelings.
Dave was like a rare mix of Cody, Harold and Noah.
I will want one about Gwen! Her character really went all over the place, because whenever she was mean she was the most likeable one, and her being or trying to much to be "nice" like in all stars was just plain annoying... having some weird actitudes around the love triangle thing too, sometimes feeling guilty and some other being super whatever about it and kissing Duncan in front of her.
tbh, I don't blame Dave for his actions. I blame the writers. Dave needs some serious redemption. He should be the next villain of next season.

ivanbluecool I wouldn't call them similar in any way besides their appearance. Ezekiel is ignorant, oblivious, and clumsy, whereas Shawn is intelligent, resourceful, and athletic. They're both good characters in their own ways, but aren't similar to one another.
Dat Boi but they do seem similar as loners and both kept women at a distance. Shawn is better in every way as I didn't like him at first but he became one of my favorites by the end with his growth and skills coming in hand.

Dave is very relatable and special like everyone else from each TD season, because if he hears anyone find him "annoying", that would hurt his feelings big time.

Everyone is a crybaby, everyone cried atleast once in their life because they have a reason to cry for something hurtful or stressful. Like 100% would definitely be everyone when they were babies or little.
I do agree that Dave is sort of naive and found it hard to take no for an answer. But I’d argue that Skye was leading him on. She was nice to him, a little flirting, giving him a solid idea that she’s into him and then decided that it’s better to focus on winning. It’s true, that’s the best idea but she never told Dave that. He had no idea what her new plans were and she just continued to lead him on and use him to get as far in the competition as possible, just to stop on him as hard as she could on live TV because he can’t read minds. The writers were pretty mean to Dave and I think that’s what broke him

Adam Haydel Dave isn't in my favorites list for Total Drama: Pahkitew Island, but I agree that Chris was out to GET Dave. He and Sky are both my fifth favorite male and female in Pahkitew Island, and my second favorite couple overall because all they are is destined to be together. Oh, and nice touch with the OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOFFFFFFFF! at 3:01.

Interesting to note: in the All Stars episode Suckers Punched, Cameron says that the odds of both Scott having to fight Fang and Sierra having to fight her pet's mother are "astronomical." The actual odds of this are 1 in 64, or about 1.5%. In the Pahkitew Island finale, the odds of Shawn spinning Jasmine and Sky spinning Dave are 1 in 132, which is about half that. The odds of this, plus Sky landing on Dave AGAIN on her second spin are 1 in 1,452! This is about 22 times less likely than what happened in All Stars.
So, there is IRREFUTABLE EVIDENCE that the wheel in the Pahkitew finale was rigged.

The reason why Dave isn’t “The worst” in my books was because he was actually written very well in the first half of his appearance on PI, but the second half and especially the Finale utterly ruined him. If his character was the one from the finale, he’d be, by far the worst character ever, worse than Staci, Ezekiel, Sadie, Katie and the Larpers combined.

How his voice sounds is subjective which is mostly based on opinion. Most people don't mind his voice while I find it funny. The stupidity and lack of self awareness is due to mininal interaction to other humans because of him being homeschooled.
He was only a little overconfident in World Tour and didn't cause trouble. He was alright and had funny lines.

@@jalengholson8595 They were good in Revenge of the Island, but Zoey's ignorance of Mike's misdeeds in All-Stars made me dislike them (I know she was oblivious to Scott in Revenge of the Island, but unlike Scott, Mike is Zoey's boyfriend). Also, All-Stars is the only season finale where I couldn't root for either of the finalists. In Australia, my home country, Zoey won. I was glad we didn't get Mike's ending because of Mal and how that character is the worst villain in the show's history, but I can't say I was happy that Zoey won either. "The Final Wreck-ening" (All-Stars' finale) is, in my opinion, the worst season finale of all Total Drama iterations.

People usually complain about how unrealistic the cast of season 6 was, and I agree, but Dave was one of the few characters that actually followed the season 1 formula of having every contestant represent a stereotype. He was "the simp", and I think that's pretty cool. He was still annoying, though.
I don't know why this season liked hidden characters so much. We had Scarlett who looked like "the quiet and intelligent girl" but was actually "the supervillain" and Dave who looked like "the only normal guy" but was actually "the simp".
Also, you forgot to mention that Chris also tried to break Dave during the grease challenge in episode 2 by confirming the grease was real when Dave was hoping the contrary in the confessionary.
He got the Trent treatment where Trent was supposed to be the normal guy and than in action went nuts

Here's my take on this(sry if this comment is super long). I agree with you in that Dave was good at first but fell hard during episode 9 and the finale. Though even in episode 8, he started to get annoying. Though honestly, both him and Sky were bad during the relationship arc. You say that Sky's reasoning for rejecting Dave was reasonable, but she didn't communicate with Dave at all and just assumed he would understand. She also kept jumping between liking Dave and not liking him, only to dump him in episode 9, after indeed reciprocating feelings for him before. And the way she rejected him was super nasty as well(though Dave did come across as a jerk even if he was just trying to impress her, so I don't completely blame her). Going back to communication, the one time she tried to communicate, Dave interrupted her, though she could of communicated many other times. And there was also episode 8 where she sabotaged Dave(Btw, it wasn't Jasmine's fault. Jasmine just told her to not get distracted by Dave, so she sabotaged him in order to stop being distracted, which is an unnecessary reason to do so. On top of that, she just thought Dave would understand!?). Then in the finale, Sky kissed Dave only for them to find out she had a boyfriend the whole time(no thanks to Chris), although she was going to break up with him anyways, so it was technically a misunderstanding. But nevertheless, she was still quite nasty to Dave at times. However, it didn't excuse Dave's actions at all. However, I definitely blame Chris the most, as he was just a huge prick about the whole thing. Now I do like Chris's character as a whole, but Pahkitew Island, he was insufferable at times. Atleast Sky and Dave's actions were both somewhat understandable even if they still did piss me off to a degree. Sky outside of this was honestly kind of bland, but she was pretty admirable w/ her athletic skills though. And she did have some accomplishments outside of the relationship arc. Also, she doesn't come across as mean as much as she comes across as inconsiderate. All in all, Sky and Dave were both frustrating to sit through during the whole relationship arc. Honestly, the whole storyline was painful to watch imo, and ruined what I thought were 2 fine characters. I don't dislike or hate either of them as a whole, but definitely think both of them need to come back to a future season for a redemption arc. They need to reconcile then develop outside of each other

1: Scarlett - Literally tried to KILL everyone!
2: Max - Loved him and Scarlett. Only complaint is that they literally threw him away at the end.
3: Ella - Just a likeable character
Mid 3 Characters (LIKE)
4: Topher - I loved his gimmick just wish he could have gone a bit further or maybe co-hosted TDRR
5: Shawn - I liked his fear but in some cases I just found him a little on the bland side
6: Sugar - A decent antagonist I would much rather have had Shawn vs Sugar
Low Mid 4 Characters (Decent/Okay)
7: Jasmine - I liked her relationship with Shawn but I feel like she needed more to her character
8: Dave - MY BOYFRIEND KEITH! Pretty good character but they wrote him so poorly..would have been top 5
9: Rodney - I thought he was gonna make it pretty far in the beginning, but he was just another filler..
10: Samey - Part 1 of Nice Twin vs Mean Twin (quite bland if I do say so myself)
BOTTOM FOUR (Quite Atrocious)
11: Leonard - I liked his minor feud with Dave and Sugar believing he was a real wizard
12: Sky - Pretty boring character, while I do like Bridgette, she is the Bridgette of the series but worse
13: Amy - Part TWO of Nice vs Mean Twin (but guess what, it's the MEAN ONE WHO COULDA GUESSED :O)
14: WORST ONE: BEARDO - All he was good for was a slight chuckles then he turned into filler oh well
