- Not to bury the lede, the Fimonda/Globact/AMK/etc. silicone inserts are a completely different animal from the Injora offerings. The non-Injora are wider, but how do they do in terms of rigidity/firmness, etc? Well, that's why we're here.

Amazon is absolutely flooding with the non-Injora inserts. There has to be 30 different listings, and nearly as many "brands." These are the cheapest as of this posting.

Maybe due to the holiday, but the availability of Injora on Amazon is WAY down. They only have the unusable reds available.

This is exactly why I like your reviews. Because you know your rock course and you can break down the head to head comparison to the detail.
I stuck a set of soft Fimondas in the fake Tusks on the Moose. I haven't had a chance to take him out, so you've raised my expectations.
Please keep us posted on that one sir!
Utterly brilliant Mr C thank you!
Very good information
All these videos are awesome, love the live feeds as well, Big thanks
Thanks for the review, really enjoyed the vid.
Red injora work well on my 11lb trx4 defender.
Love 2 a days.🎉
I was just thinking that!
Damnnnn. You be a busy man 😎😎😎😎😎.
Double buns do feel insanely firm, but i trust you so i left them on, yet to test.
I picked up some 85A TPE and ventured into printing some free inserts from thingiverse, so my small fleet is in for a rigorous testing session when I eventually have time to wheel again.
The double buns are tunable! You can mess with the hair bun and get many different arrangements
got mine fimondas today, put it in hyrax... the wide is fit, but the wheel too firm
before that was inside injoras blue cutted two levels on front first level on back no spacers just as is. feel much better. i will try to run the fimondas one time on rocks and see what happens. and then will cut them
Great video. Love the crawler walls you have set up. Have any videos of that? Im new to your channel!
Take that flatbed wagon and make a portable camera dolly, with seat, storage, work table on the end, covered wagon style then some of the cameras will not need to be touched during filming
Be Well and thank you
And an other one 🤩
Just ordered the pink one to go with my new Tusk..hope it will be fine😮
They should fit fine, you'll just want to do a bit of "Scissor tuning" if your rig is under ~7lbs.
@@CrawlerCanyon oh yeah even with the pink one rated light!!
@@CrawlerCanyon it will be for my new phoenix portal build
What do you recommend for rtr 2.2 canyon trail?
Come on the blues! LOL
My greens arrived 3 days ago...havent had time to work em in. The Injoras are too thin for my 29mm Injora offset rims and Trencher tires.
You can just cut a shim out of fridge foam to fill out the sidewall gap. That's how I'm running Injora green in a set of Megalithics, and Injora blue in a set of Landmines.
@@CrawlerCanyon do you put the shim on the inside or the outside?
@@CrawlerCanyon ...catched that info on the vids of yours too...I am curious about them...I run 4.75 in front and 4.19 in the rear, so these 2 inserts were under 10 bucks 👌
I'm running shims on inside not sure what's better
Which inserts would you say perform the best with the jconcept green compound? I have 1.9 holds and 31mm rings. Id love to get a $20 set but the squids i can get custom made for my setup for $60. Is it worth the price or do these perform good enough?
Does anyone have a suggestion for me?
@@Ferra3904 Get a try with the Fimonda pink
what is the wheel width you are using in the CT's? How did the pinks feel with side to side slop on the wheel? The test I have been waiting for. Now we need to test the fake hyrax and/or other fakes/knockoffs. Can you say that the pinks would be a touch better on a 7-8lb rig?
These are all 24mm ring wheels. So like... the middle one. Injoras are happiest (IME) on 21mm rings (really reduces sliding) but the non-Injora are much fatter, and happiest on 24mm. They slide a little bit, but not as bad as I was anticipating based on how much looser they are on the ring. The Injora are
I bought a set of the pink color or "purple" according to the listing..
But good lord they are super soft.
But I have no clue what size tire to mount them in they seem super wide for 4.4 tire, and feel over stuffed.
Yerah, I think they'd be pretty overstuffed in a 4.4 tire. They do best in 4.65-4.75, and around 1 3/4" (47mm) wide.
@CrawlerCanyon lol I guess I'm have to order more tires lol.. can't have to many can u?
I think we still need two tests to determine if the Fimonda Inserts are good enough:
--- Fimonda vs Double Bun in a 4.75 tire
--- Fimonda vs Injora (once they both break in) in Canyon Trails
Anyway, I think the Canyon Custom Inserts are never going to be behind any other insert, they are just better overall
Also, is there any way to get an alternative to the TimTin inners? I heard you talking about them for the first time a while ago, but havent seem them available in the months I have been part of the Canyon Community
Sign is still not working correctly 😅
Now I’ve seen there’s a yellow one on Amazon.
Those are for 1.0" tires.
Oh wow it's a 2fa!
Do u have a link to the wheels you are using in these??
The orange set are the always-inexpensive GoolRC amzn.to/3ONMDCj There are plenty of Method 105 clones on Amazon, I just buy whatever's cheapest. Globact, OGRC, DKKY, they're all selling the same wheels in different colors, I haven't noticed a difference at all between any of the "brands."
What if you cut the outer rib off and add a hair bun
The fimondas won't work with a narrow 19mm ringed wheel, too wide.
Oh, I believe it. Trying to get the Timtin inners on Vanquish wheels is the proverbial 10lbs of sausage in a 5lb sack.
Pseu pseu pseudeoooooo 🎵
Bonus points for Phil Collins reference.
You can't argue with science. Lol
Hows the fimonda red (hard)?
I haven't ordered a set of those yet, as I still have a set of Injora reds hanging on the pegs, and they are HARD. Like... I don't have anything remotely heavy enough to compress them.
I see. May i know how heavy is your rig? Mine is like 4kg plus, would it be heavy enough?
@@SShiftRC Baseline in these vids is just under 2.5kg. The red inserts are for rigs up to 8 , and I can't even think of one that would qualify. You could cut a bunch of ribs out of reds to match your weight, as you're probably a bit heavy for the blues, which are best around 3.5kg and get a little sloppy past 4kg.
Thank you brother. I just ordered a set of 4 reds. Let's see how they perform
On 1.0 I I noticed they was pretty good Fair but they're not as good as flub RC maybe in a different tire they will be I don't know just the ones I did test so far they was not as good but they're still good don't get me wrong just different
Yeah, these will never be as good as a made-to-fit 3D printed insert-- but these are cheap, and can be slapped into a variety of tires. Try taking a 3D insert for a Tusk and putting it in a Canyon Trail. It's not gonna be great.
Fimonda cheese 😂
plurple
I love pseudo science!!!
Waits for the 3D printed fanboys to turn up and winge about the blues LOL
I still contend that a made-to-fit 3D printed insert is the highest level of performance, but they are finicky and cost prohibitive. These silicone guys are pretty good at doing the "all purpose" thing, and at $20-25 a set, it's fairly easy to take a pair of scissors to them.
Stop using buns. Might as well just use the original tire foam they come with.
why ?
