Diggstown Trailer - Directed by Michael Ritchie and starring James Woods, Louis Gossett Jr., Bruce Dern, Oliver Platt, Randall 'Tex' Cobb. Gabriel Caine has just been released from prison when he sets up a bet with a business man who owns most of a boxing-crazed town called Diggstown. The bet is that Gabe must find a boxer that will knock out 10 Diggstown men in a boxing ring within 24 hours. "Honey" Roy Palmer is that man - although at 48, many say he is too old.

"Some strange reason"? It wasn't exactly a big hit when it came out. The only reason I know it is because I worked at a movie theater after school in high school, so I saw all the movies for free back then.
@@rbbecker73 yes.. But why such a well made fun flick tanked is the question . Although Ritchie unfortunately was on the wrong side of "Fletch Lives" (which I still enjoy regardless..)
This is such a phenomenal classic. One of Woods best movies I think.

Amazing movie. What I realize after seeing it many times is that the casting is really impeccable: every single character is pictured in the perfect way. The villain, the fat "pet of the rich guy" county cop, the latin guy for the dirty jobs of corsini, the typical smalltown toughguy frank, are a few examples... Great acting by all, even the not so famous actors that made this great film.
What's the movie where james woods bets on horse races I can't find it anywhere it just brings up diggstown

Gladiator was a great boxing movie. Not as good as Diggstown, but certainly worth a watch. Overshadowed by the Russell Crowe movie.

The best movie I remember… also, i was that guy. Kuala Lumpur, 2008. It is possible.

I am from local . FIlmed some locales..locals... Heather Grahm... she turned heads...and her demeanor... where did she get that southern twang ? Couple years later... she was in movie "Boogie Nights" I recall once watching it on cable t.v. with a girlfriend of mine...she asked me "do you find her attractive ?" ...honestly...YEAH!!!
