It should be noted, tokens do actually enter the graveyard, then state based actions are checked to remove them (i don't know the full ruling but i know tokens do technically enter the graveyard for a brief moment). This would mean with the prismari dragon, all those treasures will build up your gravestorm.
EDIT: previous comment submitted before I could finish typing. See this new one! Let me help you with that citation! Although at one time, CR 420 governed State-based actions, you can now find them under 704, with them taking place the first moment someone has priority. 704.5 (a - x) lists all the state-based actions in no particular order. 704.5d says that Tokens the game sees in a zone that's not the battlefield cease to exist. What this means for in-game functionality is fundamentally exactly what you said: they *do* enter the graveyard, and only *after* cease to exist.
Works really well in the upgrades version of the deck it's from as well. Especially when you add 4 more token doublers and the original deck already had academy manufacturer
I played an upgraded version of the precon, fumigate on a board of 42 creatures, adrix and nev followed by this and made 84 clues. If I hadnt died next turn i had the angel that gave clues exalted and a whirler rogue on field and would have won.
I have a question regarding how lich’s tomb works. So say I have something like the master multiplied would master multiplied keep me from sacing permanents due to lich’s tomb?
Yes BUT you still have to sacrifice something, so it would eat your nontoken permanents, including the Tomb itself eventually. If you somehow turned everything (even the Tomb) into a token, then you’re golden!
Why does this card say "permanent put into the graveyard from the battlefield" and bitter storm does not specify from the battlefield. Even its errata doesn't mention the battlefield. Are these 2 separate gravestorm abilities or did they change the mechanic?
I got clarification from the MTG designers on this! They are identical, this is just updated wording. For something to be a permanent, it must be on the battlefield, so the original gravestorm always meant that
I love Bitter Ordeal. I'm going to love Follow the Bodies. It's gonna be great.
Same
As someone who has used the creature Guttersnipe, I can tell you that Izzet did not need the buff.
I mean, this also just goes nuts with every board wipe, especially the nonland permanent kind.
Why not include the lands as well, we shouldn't leave them out in the cold alone.
@@NOMASTER1021Yeah although I see the appeal of hitting a blasphemous act play manuafactor then next playing this
If you have a reassembly skeleton and a pitiless plunderer you most likely will drain all the opps decks.
Im thinking of getting both for an alternate pay off in my varina deck

Biter Ordeal name checks out.
My Sheruum deck runs Phyrexian Metamorph with Bitter Ordeal; tou can just play those three and end the game usually

Magnetic mine would combo with the lights Tomb
I forget the full name but the bringer of the last gift could probably be helpful with this
I love this card. Artifact builds anyone??
This is probably going in my Izzet spellslinger deck... just because.
Maybe I'm misinterpreting, but with Repay in Kind and a life loss outlet you can with Lich's Tomb.
Hmmmmm, wondering how well this would work with an armageddon and some way to tap/generate mana from the tokens such as with academy manufacturer
Inspriring Statuary
3cmc artifact that gives all non artifact spells Improvise.
Thran vigil and putrid goblin. Then just repeatedly sacrifice
Honestly, gonna throw Bitter Ordeal into Captain N’gathrod now… so thanks for that 😈👍
Pia's Revolution? In a red blue artifact deck?
You bet your sweet petooty I’m putting this in my Krark/Thrasios deck lol

How do things like treasures break this
I’m new to mtg I thought they didn’t go to the graveyard
It could have been a descend card if they printed it in ixilan.
Ugh - I was so excited to play this card... then I saw it was commander only 😭
Incoming: Legacy Follow the Bodies

Lithoform engine ftw?
reckless frie weaver, or maybe marionette master?
You balding my guy? Whats with the over presented forward hair swoop?
Both balding AND in desperate need of a haircut! I should post about THAT combo
